11 of them got arrested. None of us did. There were more MAGA hats being worn than at any of the previous rallies.

Anyone willing to put some effort into research would easily find out that the university used really slimy techniques to keep the original event from happening. Unfortunately most people won't do that research, and the students are just going to listen to the admin's announcement of "lol Berkeley Patriot fucked up, we tried to help." I'd say it was maybe a win in that the only people arrested were leftists, even though the school/students/media have all been claiming the alt-right are the ones causing the problems at these protests.

No, Berkeley Patriot was organizing the free speech week and they cancelled it because they could only get outdoor venues at the school (not safe for the higher-profile speakers). This was Berkeley's plan- they needed the event to be cancelled but they didn't want to look like the bad guys. They're still claiming Berkeley Patriot fucked up, even though the publication released email chains from them showing the university ignoring them for weeks on end. Apparently when the students would go into the office to try to sort things out (fees, legal documents, police organization, etc) the admins would actually hide from them to avoid speaking to them.
