It's actually yuri.

sitcom != sol

If anything harems are sitcoms

But they are meant to be watched when you're lying comfy in your bed with lights off.
It cannot be SITcom

All situational comedies are slice of life, but not all slice of lifes are sitcoms.

Shipping the girls degrades their characters and you know it.

Do sitcoms have character-growth?

Sitcoms generally have flanderization. Character growth is very rare.

this is not a sitcom

Does anyone else hate the term "slice of life"? It sounds so corny and unsubstantial. If I could get my way, the genre would be called "mundanity". It's a much better descriptor for these type of shows.

>I am a retard and I can't appreciate genre diversity.

It really doesn't.

I'd agree with that to an extent, but would you really call 30 Rock an SoL?
The term sitcom has been bastardised to the point where it just means "television comedy" in some contexts.

but not all SoL shows are comedies, SoL is about as apt and inclusive a description as you can get.

Just be thankful we don't have video games genre naming. It's a fucking mess.

So does SoL.

A cute girl feels the urge to do cute things with a cute girl.

Unable to do cute things, she is gifted with by cute ex machina with the cute girl's thing. Never minding the strange thing, she immediately does cute things, and is overjoyed to find out that cute girl wants to do cute things as well.

But, the next day, when she recounts the previous day's cute things done with the cute girl, she only looks at her with a uncute expression. After some investigation, she finds out that the cute girl she did cute things with is not the same cute girl she originally wanted to do cute things with. In fact, she doesn't want to do cute things in this universe at all. She is the girl's alternate universe counterpart, who wants to do cute things with the MC's own alternate universe cute self, who too is blissfully unaware of her desire to do cute things.

Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their cutest, most private things in order to equip the other with cute things they need to do cute things with their other cute selves. While the two do cute things with their alternate universe cute girls, NOTHING ensues as they begin to feel desire to do cute things with each other instead and question the NATURE of SITCOM.

Does K-ON have a laugh track?

But where is the "sitting" place?? The ting about sitcoms is that most of the jokes happen on the living room.

Someone should edit them in.

>Yui makes a goof
>chorus of girly off screen "fu fu fu"s
make it happen people.

you're right
it's trash

...

There is no fixed sitting place, because it's OP, and OP's always a retard

I didn't know how much I wanted this until now, it's kind of weird for Japan that needs other people to laugh before they know when to laugh so much all the TV shows do it for anime to not have adapted this phenomenon yet. Truly anime is behind times as usual.

I do. Slice of life is just comedy.

It's short for situation, but yeah, that's the idea.
Sitcoms are a radio/live-action concept, in which a group of actors occupy one or two cheap sets and crack jokes for 500 episodes. Shows like All in the Family inserted serious subjects, but never really left behind the feeling of "we're actors saying things on a stage".
It doesn't really make sense to apply that format to animation, because a show featuring the same characters in one or two boring rooms for 90% of a series would be an expensive waste of the medium.

Fuck off.
I hate you fucking faggots who are always spamming this shit.
No one wants to see it anymore.
Don't ever post about Keit-ai again.
Shitty memes like these are the cancer killing Sup Forums.
And you faggots always get away with it too.
Why the fuck mods don't crack down on it more, I'll never know.
Anytime someone even mentions it it gets hundreds of replies and Sup Forumsermin crossboarders.
You should consider suicide if you engage in that kind of behavior.

Space Dandy and Gintama are SoLs now?

Threadly reminder that you should stop posting that because it's a thing.

CAN'T DEFY THE KEIT-AI!

Only shitty american shows do this
Its the typical american mind control mentality
American shows are so unfunny they need to tell the audience when to laugh

More like soap opera.

Sitcoms are supposed to be funny

Slice of life... I mean, if it's supposed to be, it's doing a terrible.

If sitcoms are supposed to be funny why arent any sitcoms funny

>Just be thankful we don't have video games genre naming. It's a fucking mess.

Mostly because of idiots that know where the term role-playing game came from and thus apply it to everything.

>Only shitty american shows do this
And every Japanese television show that isn't anime

No mostly because only children play videogames

Bazoomba

Situational comedies and slice of life do have some things in common but at the same time both have things that the other completely misses. They're not really the same, similar but not the same.

Akagi no Anne was not a sitcom.

the only trash here is your taste

What anime would classify as a sitcom?

>*girls eating cake at tables*
>haha...
>*mugi suddenly takes the strawberry from mio's cake*
>hahahahahahaha
>*mio starts tearing up and shaking a little*
>WAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHHHAH
>BAZINGA

honestly how has this not been done already

time to go pirate Premiere I guess

it cannot be a comedy unless every single moment is either a punchline or a setup to a punchline. genuine comedies in otakushit media are incredibly rare. because they require you to have actual talent to write them, unlike SoL.

>downloads bloatgirls
>thjnks his opinion is worth something

Just call it 'nichijou-kei' like the japs do

How about I slice your life you piece of shit
