Take a Tour Inside P.A. Works

The Toyama-based animation studio P.A. Works is recruiting new animators for spring 2017. The company is accepting applications until June 17. In order to entice applicants and show what its like inside P.A. Works, the company put together a 30-minute recruitment video hosted by CG characters Aniko and Anitarō. Hired animators will start with a monthly training pay of 37,500 yen (US$354) for two months in addition to what is earned for production work during that period. After the first year, the company will also grant an 8,000 yen (US$75) month lunch stipend. P.A. Works also provides one-room dorms with a kitchen unit, bath, and toilet for its animators for 15,000 yen (US$141) a month excluding additional service charges and utility costs.

P.A. Works expects its animators to meet a goal of 20 stills completed each day, reaching 350 stills completed a month within the first year before working up to 500 stills completed a month within two years.

I'm going to Japan to work as an animator in P.A. Works. Wish me luck niggas.

All that talent wasted on shit like Glasslip and fucking Haruchika.

No thanks. I'll stick with my six figure job that gives free breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

>1:52 in
Dayum. Good luck nigga.

So, they earn $354 as a base and then x amount per frame done huh. Not bad.

Looks like a nice place to work, and there seems to be one por two cuties to.

Would you stop them if they try another glasslip ?

Lets see your portfolio user. Also do you speak japanese at all?

I work in canada for cookie jar group. Im an assistant to the production manager, but I also do inbetween work as well.

Can you meet the Shirobakos if you work there?

>at least N1 japanese
nah

I didn't know they have dorms.

They're made good stuff, faglord.

>That shirobako music

Which project did they use the discount jiminy cricket? Looks dope.

Oh nice, they even have a dorm toó.

Anime Mirai project. Something something Ninninman.

Why would anyone with talent apply to work on this sweatshop?

that pay is fucking terrible

In terms of studios, how does P.A Works compete compared to other studios?

I heard Kyoani pays the most.

Thanks user.

>I heard Kyoani pays the most.

No. It's Ufotable.

>Working for Poor Man's KyoAni

No thanks.

I cant understand shit but its cool, and damn, the new pa works complex shown at the end is fuck huge.

At least PA can produce successful original anime unlike kyoanal. Also they can produce more than moeshit SoL and harem.

Free was technically original, loosely based on the High Speed LNs but plotwise completely unrelated. The actual High Speed movie was the adaptation.

Shit pay, I'll stick to my seven figures a month even though it'll leave me half dead sometimes.

>2:48
Kumiko's legs.

I don't get why Japanese animators use these desks, it's a pain in the back since your face has to be parallel to the table to not fuck up perspective while drawing so you have to bend your back. I've never seen any animation office in Japan use actual slanted desks.

>half your salary to rent accommodation provided by company in the sticks
It would make a nice place for paid vacation but damn

Its really ufotable though?

PA Flops truly wants to be like GodAni.

It doesn't change the fact that they're Poor Man's KyoAni

What is this thread have to do with Kyoani and their fans anyway.

>better in every way
>poor man
Stay deluded moeshitter, kyoanus is garbage.

The fact is Kyoani like to adaption and PA Works like to original, and that's nothing wrong for both studios but somehow stupid like you love to making pointless comparisons.

>>better in every way
Even Deen is better than PAFlops

Learn English, you dipshit.

Nicely memed, fedora.

>moeshit SoL and harem
Get the fuck out.

Mad PA Floppers jealous of KyoAni's superiority ITT.

>edgelords

Sure is summer.

Some nigger started "studio wars" since he didn't check the regular console wars thread on Sup Forums, just look how he uses the term moeshit unironically.

Report the fuckers and ignore.

He's right, ESL-kun

Just finished that one, pretty good.I was hoping she would somehow cross the bridge she so scared of though.

>Its a show produced by kyoani

>tfw only n4
I-I can animate! Trust me PA!

Is doing a still difficult? Is 20 a lot in a day?

>So, they earn $354 as a base and then x amount per frame done huh. Not bad.
>not bad
That x amount per frame is about $2 and they are expected to draw 350 frames a month which means their monthly salary would be only $1054. But hey, at least you can live in a cheap dorm room.

That way they get good churn on the employees. Medical reasons for quitting are cheaper for them than firing most of them when the anime is over.

Yes? Normal people would take a hour to do a still. So it means you do 20 hour to complete your task.

>Bragging about a fag anime

>he doesn't watch fag anime
Are you a faggot?

No idea. We didn't call them.

You can work minimum wage where I live for, like, 3x that and not have to do jack shit. I hope the cost of living in Japan is dirt cheap.

What if i choose to not live in the dorm?

Then you live with your parents.

...

bump

Once every 4 years, PA is a fucking wasted studio.

Alright those prices can't be right.

So they give you 75$ for a whole month of food and pay you 141 a month? That just can't be right.

I don't care if you get to live in a cubicle with a shower.

Okay? So can KyoAni.

read that wrong, they pay you 354$ and you pay them 141 for the shit room and board.

Still a horrible deal. Why would anyone want this?

Kuromukuro is their best thing in a while

>20 stills per day
>37,500 yen
N-no thanks.

It is but not in Tokyo were most animation studios are located.

It's not like they force you to live in there

The pay is still horrible.

And you're sorta forced to live there cause that housing is a steal and you're getting payed peanuts.

They offer the dorm because you can't afford anything else with that salary.

Food in japan is cheap though, pretty sure you can live off of 300 yen a day or some such.

That's going to be rice and oil diet, then.

Not really, unless you are willing to cook for yourself.

The chinese foxconn workers make more than that. lol animu indsutry I guess.

So they can have "x years of experience as animator for P.A. Works" in their resumes.

When it comes to art it's all about portfolio. You can have 0 years of animation but draw very well and very fast and you'll get a job.

They'd make more money just freelancing on the internet.

Because they want to work in anime.

>Why would anyone want this?
Because there are hordes of erstwhile animators who would do it for free if they didn't have to eat. Artists, man.

For comparison, there are well-known Hollywood actors who had to wait up to a decade, working hours a day for nothing and failing hundreds of auditions before getting their first role.

True Nip here.
I hope your success
Nanto city is fucking countryside and may be boring but it will be happy to do what you love for a living
I heard some foreign people such as Chinese and Korean started working already.

でも月4万円の生活って辛くないんですか?

>trying to get new animators
>include clip of a showerless, poorfag animator who can't eat out because she's barely making a living

Showing Ema was the wrong idea.

do not 侮辱 Emacchi

are they looking for remote animators?

Try Tatsunoko.

She does have some great legs.

The central asian migrant slave worker in Russia that sweeps the streets earns more than that for less work.

>they keep Kumiko as a reference
Dayum

Fuck that, I want to create my own things, not to draw for someone else.
Fuck Kuromukuro too.

Oh shit it really is Kumiko

I guess every studio does want to be like Kyoani

Although who wouldn't want to have his own Kumiko.

It's Toei, you retards

Where is this located?

>The Toyama-based animation studio P.A. Works
>Toyama-based
>Toyama

Doesnt look that bad desu.

Is this Ema and Aoi's VA doing narrative voice.

It's Segawa-san,

No, its not.

I live with my parents already

checkmate animators

>PA Works literally using Kyoani shows as a reference for animating
FINDS A WAY
