>just 30k That's very good sales. The fact that other series sold more doesn't mean that 30k is low, by any means. Fate is a very popular franchise and the sales from the VN and the money generated from games like Grand Order is a testament of that. Just look at the popularity of Saber's figure and how many of them are sold.
Logan Barnes
What do you mean 'was'? It is. Basing popularity around the amount of boxsets sold isn't a good measure.
Sebastian Long
>just 30k
do you realise how much that is, OP?
Cooper Gray
Isn't 7k considered a success? I would say 30k is quite good.
Robert Foster
Only Zun and boatsults are bigger.
Andrew Wood
30k is a lot user, in animu terms
Even 10k is a success. Keep in mind that most series barely break 5k, some don't even sell 1k.
How much better this world would be if people didnt waste money on plastic crap
Lincoln Lopez
Well if you use Japanese anime pricing, which is roughly $475,000 per disc, it comes out to about a lot.
Kayden Thompson
...
Kevin Thompson
And One Piece and Pokemon and Love Live and Gundam and Madoka and Dragonball and Utapri and Osomatsu and Monogatari and AoT and probably more.
Aaron Perry
Grand Order is pulling in a million dollars a day on iPhones alone.
Hudson Myers
30k only for the first cour user whereas fate zero sold less than 30k in the first cour
Samuel Bell
I wonder how much of their audience has played/watched FSN or Zero.
Aiden Scott
GBF and Bahamut used to make more. And it's already dying out.
Alexander Lopez
It's meme and bait.
Isaac Moore
>came out right after Madoka >2011 >2006 You don't even know what you're talking about. At least if you said Tsukihime, you might have a point. Lurk more.
Matthew Gutierrez
He's referring to fate zero anime you dumb fatetard
Luis Carter
Because the VN is one of the biggest VN sellers in history and sold more than other popular standard videogames.
And even Kara no Kyoukai sold a lot by anime standards, and more given that the source was mostly unknown before it.
Benjamin Parker
GBF has earned its grave
Owen Nguyen
>friend recommends me Zero >really interested >enjoy the fuck out out the first episodes >get to episode 15-16 >suddenly just don't want to continue anymore >drop it and never go back
It then happened again with UBW, I just completely lost interest halfway through. I don't even know why it's happening. I watched Fate/stay night back in the day and I made it through fine.
Ryder Wood
It was one day in the KnK event, fuck off.
Noah Powell
Cygames makes 500-600 million $ QUARTERLY.
Yes, 2+ billion $ per year.
FGO has it's 5 minutes now, but I really doubt that it's going to last.
Nathaniel Brooks
Same story with Zero. Characters are just uninteresting. Few episodes in you start to stop caring.
Luke Williams
>just 30k (more like 36 each season btw) >literally top 20 (10?) of all time >it's the third adaptation of Fate/stay Night, and the second of this same exact route
Jayden Fisher
ok
Andrew Sanders
Should I care about Grand Order? Is there an English translation?
Joshua Diaz
Same thing. I watched the first half back in 2011, and then just forgot about it when the series went on hiatus. I know how it ends anyway.
Xavier Ortiz
Do you like gatcha jewery? Do you like getting literally nothing good? Lots of grinding? If so, then make a gun and shoot yourself.
Henry Russell
The best "english translation" is summaries of parts of the plot. Game itself is shit. It has some cool new Servants, and other very badly designed ones.
Matthew Foster
I hate mobile games but I've heard that it has some world building written by Nasu.
Aiden Allen
I thought it earned close to 75k across both cours
Jacob Harris
This is fake it's impossible one million a day is impossible for this
Luis Thomas
>UBW sold just 30k >just 30k Oh yeah, that's just like so nothing. It's so common for anime to sell 30k. As we all know, if it's part of an established franchise, surely it means the anime will be a top seller for everything
>The only Fate series that really was very popular was Fate/Zero How exactly are we gauging popularity here?
>It's a GuP fag tries to brag about sales again
Joseph Cox
4k is success. 30k is "holy fuck we jewed everyone out of their money"
Leo Roberts
It's shit.
Benjamin Rogers
Just finished uni and was going to pick this, is it necessary to watch the previous Fate/Stay series to watch UBW to not get lost?
Isaac White
Read the fucking VN.
Aiden Rivera
The VN is boring as fuck It's just cooking and autistic speeches
It's horrible. Game is crap and gacha is more jew than Cygame's at it's best.
But some of the designs are great.
Ian Gomez
I bet you're the same kind of guy who refuses to read manga because it's not moving.
Leo Martin
no
Mason Nguyen
We need to make a pastebin for Fate threads similar to the Jojo ones and link this video under "HOW DO I GET INTO THE SERIES"
Noah Rivera
Do you have any idea how popular fate/grand order is?
Parker Richardson
It even sell less than Anzio OVA alone
Owen Carter
The #1 mobage right now, but far below Bahamut's or GBF's peak popularity. And it stagnated while showing downward trends. It's boosted a bit now because Shuten is flooding Pixiv but that's won't last.
Unless anime happens fast it's going to drop hard.
Caleb Powell
Good idea. Lets make the Fate threads even more cancerous then they already are.
Camden Thomas
Start with zero
Connor Anderson
Pic not related, right?
Ryder Ross
Are you gay?
Gavin Peterson
The second half is when characters start being explored, but unless you enjoy suffering and high tier chuuni adventures of Kiritsugu the main draw of Zero is Rider. Rider and Waver's relationship is the only good servant/master relationship outside maybe Kirei/Gil but even that pales in comparison.
Rider is the reason I enjoyed Zero, he feels like the polar opposite of everything else in this garbage franchise.
Alexander Evans
i don't understand how textbook secondary iskandarfags are still a thing
Gavin Evans
He is the only good character in this terrible franchise
Zero isn't about character growth or characterization, but on the contestants, as fixed identities, due to their flaws, moving towards destinations you know about, or should know about, if you read the VN like you were supposed to.
Shirou and Rin by end of the prologue are already better than the entire FZ cast, save for Kirei, who is only good because of his context from HF.
Andrew Hughes
It's doing 1 million a day right now.
Zachary Reyes
I liked Zero as a whole, but Iksander as well as his relationship with Waver raised it from about a 7 to an 8 out of 10 for me. Everything outside of Zero is trash, particularly the LN and VN and especially anything that focuses on FSN.
>Shirou and Rin by end of the prologue are already better than the entire FZ cast >Shirou As shallow as some characters in FZ end up, they are still better than Shirou. Shirou is a fucking awful excuse for a character.
Ian Robinson
Sure.
Parker Ramirez
So Proto Morgan disguises as Proto Merlin to fuck Proto Arthur and create Mordred.
I feel bad for Guinevere. Is there a continuity she's not shit on and has to rely on Lancelot's dick to feel good?
Julian Carter
>just 30k Are you a retard?
You're still wrong, actually. 5K is already a quite good result. Most series don't hit 3k.
Jonathan Barnes
I don't know when it became the absolute be all end all anime for the community but it sure feels like it in the western ones especially now. Obviously it's a popular and a thing everywhere but the western community especially obsessed over it.
Gavin Evans
This post is pulling in a million memes and a million thinkgamings a day
Noah Smith
The game was only planned to go a year that I understood but I'm sure they can arrange more c Gacha scamming. It's not like this franchise isn't interested in selling out as fast as it possibly can. I'm just tired of it already as somebody that was initially interested. If it has no sense of purpose other than extortion every last possible cent from its fans and is going to trundle on that way there's not much point to following it any longer ad the quality inevitably drops like all otaku fanatic franchises do.
Justin Sullivan
Some idiot took a screen shot from a half broken English site called think gaming that does consulting on mobage markets and strategies for registered business and it allows a snapshot of the estimates which are just arbitrary assessments based on daily rankings and number of downloads. There's no way to see what formula they used or anything like this but when to you're just taking a snapshot of it on a peak Gacha spamming day and going around memeing I doubt people care for the details. I've seen other games like DBZ Dokkan Battle and idolMASTER, Granblue fanatsy and of course Puzzles and Dragons and Monster strike which are said to dominate 80% of the total markets revenue estimated at the same amount and obviously the latter two make way more. I've also seen FGO estimated as low as 50K on some days so again who knows with think gaming.
Chase Johnson
It has very very mixed reviews and relies on whaling type moons zealot fanatics. The company is frankly terrible in how it looks at its fanbase. It's not even close to the number one mobage either, that's puzzles and dragons. It's not even in the top 100 popular ones.
Colton Stewart
>Why are people acting like if Fate was some super incredibly amazing
I'm not saying it is, but you're basing the quality of a show solely off of the taste of others, namely how many were willing to spend money on it.
This makes you a stupid opinionless faggot who is cucked everyday by everyone around him because he has no voice.
You'll fit right in here with your fellow newfags.
Daniel Gomez
Just like the majority of the anime fanbase now. /Thread honestly
Austin Sullivan
UBW sold over 70k for both box sets. Your 30k figure is averaging out between the two.
Using your same logic, I could argue Zero sold only 50k.
It's shady math to try and make your point seem stronger.
UBW sold great considering there was a movie that told the exact same story four years prior to it, and another anime that retread many story elements eight years before it.
Henry Bell
>UBW sold over 70k for both box sets. Your 30k figure is averaging out between the two. What? How does that work? You can't average two numbers and get a smaller one than each of them. >Using your same logic, I could argue Zero sold only 50k. Yes, it did.
Juan Reed
It's not. It's at 600k.
Noah Davis
How fucking new are you? Sales discussions deal in averages 99% of the time, not totals.
Brayden Ramirez
The two box sets sold around 35k each, so averaging them out together nets you around 35k in sales, but in total numbers it's over 70k.
The important thing though is Fate/Zero's sales are trumpeted around for breaking 100k all together for their two sets. The 50k average is usually never brought up.
Joshua Brown
>UBW sold over 70k for both box sets
Are you retarded?
When normal series sells nobody mashes all volume sales together, what matters is the average per volume.
If you put all volumes together the likes of Madoka sold around a million.
Colton Murphy
See UBW did not sell significantly less than Zero did, considering the fact that it's the third adaptation of the story, while Zero's was its first.
Hudson Butler
Zero did 50+. UBW 30+.
That's not a big difference?
Lucas Sanchez
Oh, you were talking totals. In that case, see And I'm not in Fate threads all that often, but every time Zero is mentioned outside of them in the context of sales, it's the 50K that comes up. If people in these threads are referencing 100K, then they're more likely the ones using shady math to make their point look stronger. No one talks totals - they say Bake sold 79K, not 474K.
Nolan Campbell
Not when you consider that there are segments of UBW that have been animated three times.
Jayden Perez
Not him, but it's 52 and 39, to be fair. And 46/36 for the second parts.
Hudson Howard
>majority of the anime fanbase now
This user gets it.
Carter Johnson
Three times in the last 10 years, at that.
The Caster arc has been done so many times it's a little ridiculous. Not to mention we've seen the final fight with Assassin reinterpreted about as many times as it could be done.
Luis Allen
>comparing any anime's success with GuP What, is Madoka actually not popular at all because Rebellion's barely matched the GuP movie?
Liam Bennett
Comparing these are always fun.
Jeremiah Adams
>Arthur cucked Guinevere first
Shining and perfect king my ass.
Aiden James
...
Jose Lee
...
Ian Barnes
>So Proto Morgan disguises as Proto Merlin to fuck Proto Arthur and create Mordred.
Wait, Arthur is gay?
Thomas Howard
Proto Merlin is a woman. Fans speculate she'll be voiced by Kawasumi because Type Moon loves parallels and VA meme jokes.
Merlin: Sakurai Arturia: Kawasumi
Arthur: Sakurai. F. Merlin: Has to be Kawasumi for meme reasons.
Isaiah Harris
People talk whatever they need to to try to lift there points which means outright bullshit and spin is totally okay. For example you're going to see people tallying up the total box office for all 3 Kizumonogatari movies in 2017 (If it's actually finished by then) and acting like it's a total gross for one movie even though literally no official website like box office mojo is ever going to track it that way. It's just inevitable with how shitposters are.
Hudson Sanders
Nobody wants to have a genuine opinion of their own and either shitpost one opinion to be contrarian or shitpost another opinion to feel as if they belong. It's just readily observable and notable if you're willing to break from shitposting conventions enough to acknowledge it. Again not a lot of the community is though.
Ethan Wright
Kawasumi voices Fou in F/GO drama cds too
Jace Watson
Rin's a shit
Juan Powell
Fuck off and don't respond to me ever again, Aniplex-kun.
Justin Roberts
Mean.
Ryder Green
Kawasumi is usually paired with Sakurai for meme purposes in anime. I doubt the change of VA for Merlin was a coincidence. Nips ship their voices together.
