Well its not just that, it is also the fact that the AFD victory has basically put an end to the grand coalition. CDU and SPD will no longer be a unified coalition, and the CDU has promised to try and win back their voters who went AFD. So basically due to the bad CDU showing, and the shifting of their base harder right, they had to abandoned the closeness with the socialists.
What this means is they now have to consider working with the AFD and FDP (far right and libertardian).
So, yes 94 seats is good, but the shift in power back towards the right is even better.

AfD is fine, but they'll have to work with other parties to get anything passed. I expect (and this is just a guess) that you'll see the AfD working with FDP, who in turn will work with CDU.
