It predicts the future, so make your decision based on that.

How can you read a book and grasp onto your tree at the same time, Manuel?

Im a Jordi ;)

lmfao stop pretending you can read nigger!

Huxley > Orwell

My country used it as an instruction manual

So read both? They are short books.

Independence from baboonland when?

You should read it, as it's an incredibly interesting read, but I wouldn't start calling everything Orwellian because of it

Like tv licensing? Fucking insane.

1th of October. Cant wait!

Good luck.

Thanks for your support!

You should read it. It's a short book. You should read lots of books. Dummie.

You don't read kindling.

Wich book from Huxley do yo recommend me?

Yeah, also thought police

just read it and think of commies

Yeah it's a good book. Lots of modern parallels. Plus lots of girls have read it and like using it in conversation to sound smart

Brave new world

Referring to Brave New World which gives another version of Dystopian future.

Thanks! You fucking faggot. Now, could you kindly kill yourself? Thanks

It's a good book but just makes shit a little more obvious. At this point if you haven't already come to the conclusion that freedom is an illusion 1984 might help you see it a little easier. It redpills normies despite it being written by a socialist.

>Plus lots of girls have read it and like using it in conversation to sound smart

ke some chick recommended me 1984 on tinder so I recommended she read Ride the Tiger, have no idea if she ever did though.

nah ill let the AIDS do that thank you very much

There is no reason not to read it. Even if it had no applicability to the real world, it's still good work of fiction.

>ORGY PORGY, FORD AND FUN

Huxley is great. The elites rule society by enslaving people to their passions (sex, drugs, sports, gambling). We are inundated in a sea of irrelevances, as valuable information sinks to the bottom, and forgotten.

It's quite good. I mean, really good. Very few books have ever engaged me like that.
One of the best works of fiction I've read. Doesn't matter if you don't care about politics or his insight into the human psyche, I guarantee you'll wolf it down after reading a few pages

Brave New World is frighteningly relevant today

Everyone should read it, and the read Animal Farm, and then read Homage to Catalonia and Down and out in paris and london (I believe it was called) and Roa to Wigan Pier, Orwell's a fascinating person, and a good window into a pretty sane leftist critically examining the world, be that under an authoritarian boot (1984, Animal farm) or under an uncaring cold society (Homage and Wigan Pier)

Plus his essay's are great, and his observations on the british empire were poignant and evocative, i love Orwell as a writer, great guy, great guy.

Bueno, he hecho trampas porque ya me lo leído. Sólo quería ver las opiniones de la gente.

Good thing it's an American classic. Among more politically correct and or dry subjects like Dickens, Scarlet Letter, Crucible or god forbid Uncle Tom's Cabin, Secret Life of Bees, something set in the 60s etc etc. Gatsby was bat and Sawyer was a best seller 120ya.

Joder como nos aburrimos. Hala a dormir!

>Oneth of October.
>Firth of October.
>Unoth De Octubre

this
also read Harrison Bergeron. It is a short story and more prescient than 1984 and BNW is some ways.
here, you can read it one sitting

>1984
>American classic

You should read everything you possibly can.

forgot link

Its a bit dry as far as the prose goes but it is fucking chilling when it comes to social insights. If reading for pleasure I'd suggest starting with "Animal Farm"

American classic as in classic read for English classes for US school before someone get on my ass that Orwell's British. This also hints at the stupidity as well as threat of correct speech. And in perspective a much more relatable novel than Fahren451

Protocols of Zion is another short book which combines the best of Huxley and Orwell

Hello fucboi

It sucks when you speak 4 languages wich 3 of them are native. + studying one more.

Here is your (You).

REGRESEN EL ORO PANCHOOOS

wot m9

Steinbeck's an American classic, Orwell's ours, ya twat.

>tfw never read 1984 in high school like I should have because we got taught white guilt garbage instead like To Kill a Mockingbird, Native Son and Their Eyes Were Watching God
>now I'm trying to do catch up trying to read all the books I should have read in my teens
>so now if I go to read 1984 in my 20s everyone will think I'm a pleb

What is Swedish at this point. 1/6 of your country is illegal, can't speak the language, but are provided the same benefits, respects, and legal status (not even shitting you) as a native ethnic Swede. Shouldn't you be.......I dunno speaking out? What future

took a while for me to realise that cover picture is supposed to be eye and not a sunglasses wearing frog

It was written by a trotskyist who was buttmad about trotsky dying and stuff

Its a good read, but to be honest the current world we find ourselves in is a mish-mash of both 1984 and a Brave New World. People often like to point to one or the other when drawing comparisons but anyone with a shred of brain cells knows its a combination.

kek you're doing God's work user

by the way NO you should not read this book
there's only ONE book on Earth that is must-read and this book is THE BIBLE
rest belongs to trashcan
AMEN

Classic as in found common among all English curriculum taught US. Steinbeck is soso. Poe is mad, 1700s stuff reads like a dictionary, Steinbeck is soso. Grapes wasn't all that interesting

Instead of Dean Koontz or some real literature we read tomes in conjunction with civil rights literature. Forgive me for saying that there exist some class within the American novel repertoire taught

But muh Handmaid's Tale?!

STOP THIS THREAD YOU ALREADY MADE ME ORDER 3 BOOKS YOU FAGGOTS

oye fuccboi a ver si dejas de memear

firmado: Francisco Franco Bahamonde

Not my problem you're misusing the English language by calling 1984 an American classic

>not downloading the PDF's

Callate, los memes son lo único que nos queda. Es lo único que nos mantiene a flote.

>so now if I go to read 1984 in my 20s everyone will think I'm a pleb
Only retards.
Go and enjoy your books

>Un mundo feliz
What a shitty title translation.

It's not bad given historical context, but the author is incredibly heavy-handed and comes across as too preachy/butthurt

Orwell was a faggot that aided the kikes and freemasons in the 2nd Spanish Civil War.

May that anglo trash burn in Hell.

Pic related, him in the back.

At least they got the Catalan one well, oh wait its in catalan nvm

The doors of perception

Thanks.

Stop it. Read them in fucking English!

You'll thank me later if you start reading books in English right fucking now, especially books originally written in English. Also these books doesn't use difficult language.

Woah stop there. Did he support catalonia indelendence? I love this guy!

Keep the Aspidistra Flying is really good.

Why should i read them in English? Give me one reason.

*give me one good reason

This is kind of stupid. A story is the same in any language if it is translated competently.

The only thing that should be read in the original language is poetry, and even that you can be flexible.

Because they were written in English and it will help your knowledge in English, which is the lingua franca. And it will open you up to reading more books which were not written in English but have the most and arguably the best translations, be it Russian litterature or whatever.

>Soon

Should.

This

Brave New World is one of the best books ever, on many levels, while still being a quick simple read. Very lyrical.

Are there any other images like this that have an entire book in a jpg or png?

Ok so there is no reason for reading them in english apart from the "learning english" reason.

Already bought it, see ->

>i'll be reading books for the rest of my life but learning english is not an adequate reason
Good luck reading great English books like Moby-Dick, Paradise Lost or Lolita if you don't start reading basic-tier literature in English first.
But yes your books are basic story driven fiction and reading them in Spanish won't really make you miss out on anything but whatever. Do as you like.

...

I think my english level is good enough so I dont need to read english books to not loose my level. If i ever encounter some situation where the english is to complex for me i'll just use a dictionary.

Btw one of those books that I ordered its not written in spanish.

Wish I was fluent in Russian for Dostoyevsky tbqh. I know none.

I know enough German to enjoy Goethe, but again full fluency would be better.

How have I never gotten around to reading A Brave New World?

Thank you user.

Read 84 and BNW never touched 451 though. IS it worth the read? Is it as good as the other two?

Never read BMW but have read 84 and 451; I'd say 451 is worth the read because the main character is an agent of the oppressive state so there is a much different angle in plot and character development.

You should read Huxley's Doors of Perception.

If you want to oppress your citizens, Huxley's method is by far superior to Orwell's method.

With Orwell, you live in a constant state of paranoia, worrying that your citizens will get educated and overthrow you. You can only do so much until the people eventually snap and kill you because unless you kill the idea of freedom itself, it will never go away no matter how many laws you impose upon them.

Huxley on the other hand, got it right. Huxley just cuts out the middle man and says "Well, we'll never be able to stop these peasants from killing us if they wanted, so why not just bombard them with every meaningless distraction possible? Celebrity gossip, bread and circuses sports, awards shows, reality TV, scandals that aren't really scandals, etc."
Basically, once people learn to ENJOY having a shitty life, that's when the government has won. And we're about 20 years away from the completion of that.

Great read, amazing atmosphere and story not only is it a good read it has practical reasons to read it, after reading 1984 you will be able to spot a authoritarian easily weather it's wrong think or new speak.

Of course read it. Entry level but a classic

You should read this whole list m8.
Supreme redpills.
