I didn't say it's hard, I just need time to read and look up words but it moves on automatically.

It probably only shows for like 2 seconds before moving to the next screen. In addition to grammar that is unfriendly to beginners, surely you can figure this out.

i guess you could use it in some contexts as a replacement for 単に, like ただの

the grammatical structure is different though as you can see
ただ can also mean "free" "ordinary/common" "but/nevertheless" etc. unlike 単に
but jisho can tell you as much

But there's no point about that video for me, I want to learn moon to read books, which will (hopefully) always use kanji.

For some reason I find it really motivating to know that I can someday surpass these people.

In Classical Japanese there was a grammatical distinction between simply past tense and 完了 (some action or state being finished).

You have past sense done by き (past the speaker experienced) and けり (past the speaker didn't experience). たり is one way to expess 完了. In modern Japanese this is simply translated as ...た, like you can see on the site or when possible …てしまった to express the 完了 nuance stronger. Past tense and 完了 could be even combined. If I still had my Classical Japanese reading book, I'd show you an example. Anyway, two other uses for this たり are present contunious and the current …たり…たり grammar. Again, this is on the page.

There's also a second たり, the one meaning である/です. Remnant of this is the たる者 grammar from N1. See pic about is usage. Example: 政治家たる者、賄賂を受けるべからず。

Yes. I've got a textbook in my native language written by some of my teachers and their colleagues.

Later, for reading, I had a book called 読解古文. It also had translations to contemporary Japanese, but looking at those sucks the fun away, so don't do it if your book would have them too.
