I've read the first 15 chapters a few months ago and it was decent, being animated will make it better, I'm sure. I liked Barakamon more though, it's a shame it didn't get a 2nd season, they cut some scenes from the manga in the anime and there is some good story later on.
I would say early 40, maybe 42-43yo, Handa is 23yo If I remeber correctly.
