This ending was so wrong. Machi just became a completely dysfunctional human being, they broke her. I felt so bad.
Ethan Jenkins
Some people are just not suited for city life
Zachary Murphy
It was a different kind of wrong than when I saw Yura's descent into madness in C3-Bu.
This was just something else.
I'm deleting all of my Machi lewds.
Lucas Sanchez
Twitter on the Nip side is still talking about the finale. They called Yoshio a psychopath and compared the finale to Minami-ke.
One tweet even says that they want to watch Flying Witch to douse the finale.
Aaron Thompson
>finale to Minami-ke What was wrong with that? Unless there's a OVA I'm missing.
Bentley Howard
>All Kumamiko-chan 4-koma segments take place after the mindbreak. >Genres: Comedy, Seinen, Slice of Life, Psychological Horror.
Christopher Hall
That wasnt so bad, seeing the other thread is dead here is my view on this . Its a comedy, a bit dark and hard to handle to some seeing the complaints.
Jaxon Hernandez
People are referring to Minami-ke Okaeri.
Jayden Jenkins
The worst thing about it, is that they tried to make it look like a happy-ending for Machi. I don't remember the last time I felt so bad because of an anime.
Nolan Scott
>They called Yoshio a psychopath Took them that long to realise? He's been single handedly ruining the show the entire time.
Chase Diaz
90% of the ending was cute and fine. I guess the rock throwing delusions were to far but I don't think that ruined it.
That last couple of minute were adorable.
Also overall what a Great OP and ED. I'd love a second season.
Bentley Nguyen
>expect SoL comedy with cheeky antics between miko and bear
>get this shit
John Cook
That should explain the unsettling feeling. "She doesn't need to go out of the village! She'll be better doing her role as a shrine maiden and sacrifice!" Fucking hell, is this town competing with Mayoiga for the disturbing town of the season?
Jonathan Morales
Is Kumamiko the Madoka of SoL?
Juan Flores
The character designs were good.
Nicholas Parker
More like the Shiki of slice of life.
Wyatt Reyes
I want to hug Macchi so hard. I also want to ejaculate inside her. And maybe bully a little. She's just too cute.
Ayden Peterson
"She needs to go out of the village! She'll be better doing drugs and prostituting her dumb self rather than contributing to her native village as a shrine maiden!"
She's 14 and only wanted to go to that highschool on a whim without understanding the repercussions. I don't see how the town can be painted as demonic. Seems like an overreaction by people too hard on their progressive stance if you ask me.
Bentley Brown
>Not wanting just to sit right next to her while your own social anexiety consumes you. How can you say you love your waifu if you can't even puke your own intestines beside her?
Charles Roberts
so, Hikage is the girl Machi should become but fail....
Elijah Powell
The village is fucking dying and she'll outlive Natsu by decades. Lets not overstate how much of an autistic wreck she is, entering adulthood without even trying to overcome it anymore is not a good thing long run
Brandon Kelly
What if user isn't an anxious person? What if he wants to cure her cute yet "disabling" anxiety, then make sweet, tender love, hold hands and impregnate her?
Matthew Lewis
This show is trash, why are all these gamer gators defending it? I wanted a comfy iyashikei, not overly dramatic suffering with loli sexualization
Aiden Carter
then watch flying bitch
Adrian Thompson
I fucking knew they'd somehow try to slant the fact that she became a literal socially broken autist as a happy ending. Jesus christ is the concept of personal growth just not a thing to nips.
Jason Ward
The last episode made me hate Hibiki as well. Yoshio being a fucking psychopath was one thing, that's well established, but why did she seem to mostly buy his sacrificial bullshit?
Adrian Gonzalez
Yes, this single anime series represents the thoughts and beliefs that literally every single Japanese person holds.
Lucas Moore
>what is obvious exaggeration autism off the charts
Ryan Ross
...
Brandon Howard
apparently the manga has this all happen too, word for word pretty much, but actually leaves off on a cliffhanger that implies more will happen soon so it's not as bleak
Liam Diaz
Just how the fuck does she not know what the Internet is?
Jack Adams
She couldn't find a torrent for it.
Ayden Moore
You have to admit that while incredibly sad, it was also pretty cute that she referred to the internet as Saito-san in a reverent tone.
Luis King
>more will happen soon so it's not as bleak Season 2 confirmed.
Christopher Perez
It's not so grave in the manga because the Sendai trauma never happened, she quit while she was ahead like she tried to at the start of the finale episodes.
Daniel Williams
well that's a relief
Benjamin Perez
That schoolkid couple was cute as fuck.
Thomas Harris
This ending was fucking beautiful, realistic, and utterly glorious.
Parker Reyes
I was starting to feel bad near the end, but the Saito-san part was so fucking cute, it made me feel that Machi is better off this way. I'm so sorry.
Zachary Taylor
I don't understand any of the parts about rocks
Adrian Nelson
I get that people here identify with Machi, but they're being too harsh, and also blind in regard to her qualities.
Despite failing hard, Machi always tried her best. Also, she's a beautiful badass miko, can chop wood and cook rice at the fireplace. Yeah, maybe the scripting has been a bit sloppy in the end, but I wouldn't consider her "broken". It's a matter of perspective.
Camden Moore
>I'm deleting all of my Machi lewds. I've complained about you lewding Machi the entire season. Finally you're butthurt too. That's it, I love this ending.
Dominic Flores
Are you insinuating that I'm lazy?
Owen Cook
never thought I'd hear that voice again she even has the same hairstyle :) I'm dead
Matthew Brown
Don't use emoticons on Sup Forums.
Kayden Hernandez
That's the issue though. Those positive qualities could have been more effectively communicated if if they had been executed properly.
Instead, we got the surprise horror of the season.
Colton Jenkins
Deepest lore
Joshua Thomas
>Kuma Miko will forever be treated like this because the majority of the people watching it decided that Machi giving up was a bad ending Fuck no, this is what's really depressing. I'll never be able to talk about this show again because you guys can't accept a simple status quo ending and somehow got the idea that Machi suffered a mindbreak.
Tyler Reyes
It's actually absurd seeing how 100 to 0 the general opinion of the nips were towards this show during these last few episodes.
Like holy shit and to think this was quite literally a massive it early on in the season. But hey, they still Machi is cute so there's that.
Colton Gomez
>Jesus christ is the concept of personal growth just not a thing to nips. Accepting that city life isn't a thing for Machi doesn't count as character growth? And holy shit I can't you hard enough.
Landon King
What were the Nico ratings for the last episode?
Aiden Carter
>because you guys can't accept a simple status quo ending The status quo was Machi wanting to go to the city, status quo ending of Machi still wanting to go to the city, maybe making a little bit of progress but still mostly being an autismo wreck was what everyone was expecting
Besides, the ending is the only reason people might still talk to this outside of dumping art in a few seasons
Gavin Sanders
There are some anons in these threads taking the manga pages of Machi tickling Natsu and him telling her it's OK not to think anymore out of context to pretend it wasn't an anime original ending. No matter how much people correct them they keep coming back, in the same thread even. It has to be intentional shitposting at this point.
Now I can't see it any other way.
Parker Price
Yoshio stopped being a caregiver and started being a miko abuser as the show went on.
He dangles rewards in front of Machi to get her to do humiliating things when he's not outright forcing her to do so.
Where the fuck are Machi's parents anyway?
Zachary Myers
Were you browsing the 2chan livethread yesterday? It was fucking amazing.
We'll find out next week. For reference, the penultimate episode had like a 65~% rating.
Blake Jackson
You guys got a anime only ending watamote didn't. we need get volume 10 to sell out in November.
Logan Gray
>broken machi >being a bad thing What series were you watching?
Jonathan Thompson
>Where the fuck are Machi's parents anyway? Ded. Bear sacrifices are very real. Yoshio knows the score. He's the next village chief mate. Sacrifice the parents for a magic bear to worship. Bond the child to the bear.
A perfect system.
Yoshio can't let that go to waste. He knew her parents once. Machi belongs to the tribe. Their sacrifice cannot be in vain. She has a debt to the village just as they have a debt to her.
Brayden Stewart
The fun was seeing this cute creature bending and breaking in front of our eyes. She's just a broken toy now, useless and empty
Robert Long
Yoshio still exists, which means Machi is still going to be tormented.
Lincoln Myers
This, I hated Yoshio around the time the village decided to sew up costume for her and Yoshio was just blatantly trying to strip Machi to make her wear one of the costumes.
It was funny for 5 minutes, then it was just disturbing.
Ethan Edwards
But the situation after the ending is exactly the same thing as how it was before the show started, but now without Machi wanting to go to the city. She's even just as dumb regarding electronics as she's always been. And now people are using this to shitpost and call others shitposters too, god damn it. This is too much for me to bear, I'm out of here.
Matthew Torres
Wait, what happened? I haven't caught up yet. Is it really that bad?
Landon Morris
>Were you browsing the 2chan livethread yesterday? It was fucking amazing. Examples?
Evan Wright
>then it was just disturbing Don't you have blog to be posting this to? It's a fucking gag show tumblr, fucking hell.
Ethan Wilson
They'll probably start breeding Machi soon to make a replacement miko and then ritually sacrifice her to attach a human soul into a bear cub. It's important that she perfects her miko dances as they are part of the ritual.
Her grandma isn't really her grandma, just a caretaker designated by the village elders. Her mother's soul is trapped inside Natsu's body, that's how they get the bears to act protective towards the village mikos.
Easton Powell
Yoshio and Natsu broke Machi. Hibiki let it happen. Machi has no one who truly cares for her.
Ryan Morris
...
Ian Scott
The ending is great and perfect. You fags actually wanted Machi to overcome her social anxiety? That would have been so stupid if it happened. Something as serious as that can't be overcome easily.
Machi just isn't suited to the city life, and it would have been much worse had she gone to a public school. No doubt she would be bullied and possibly end up committing suicide after all the abuse.
Carson Robinson
Its completely different because Machi's given up. She wasn't bothered about understanding Mr Saito, she didnt make a serious effort to improve herself. You cant call it a status quo ending when the scene played out differently than every single Machi cant understand tech scene before it
Jeremiah Rogers
Machi managed to perform her ritual dance in front of a large crowd because she ignored all the people in there, when reality kicked back in she thought they were hazing her instead. After going back to the village, she told Natsu that she gave up on going to the city (after all her previous failures), and both of them continued living happily together. People who were expecting Machi to overcome her social anxiety got buttblasted to the extreme and are treating this as the worst possible ending.
I like the ending. It brings out my inner sadist as I smirk at the Machi bullying and mindbreak.
Camden Moore
>it's a fucking gag show It was up until the moment it turned into a psychological horror.
Charles Thompson
Pretty much. I was thinking of dumping the chapter to clear up confusion for at least some, but I'm going to sleep already.
Leaving with a Machi.
Isaiah Reyes
>futa log Every time
Luis Collins
>over 3000 combined posts
Holy shit. What are the nips saying?
Alexander Butler
The only difference between comedy and tragedy is the lack of conscience. It's on similar sentiments that this is why, conversely, a bad horror movie will end up becoming a comedy.
Brayden Lopez
You do know that Japs love bullying, right? You're also aware of the fact that this show was intended for Japanese audiences, and how they love making fun of hicks, aren't you?
Brandon Bell
>You do know that Japs love bullying
If they did then why are the elevens reacting so negatively to these last few episodes?
Gavin Turner
Here's my fav post >マチだけがいない街 >a machi (street) where only Machi isn't around.
Ethan Stewart
It didn't follow the manga.
Hunter Hernandez
Machi is cute. The anime original content is complete shit.
William Gonzalez
Oh the ending is anime original?
Thank fuck. Fuck this bait and switch grimdark bullshit.
Thomas Hill
Because a part does not make a whole. Even that image with the Nico ratings for episode 11 showed that 60%+ of the watchers in there loved it, 18%+ found it okay, and the rest had a neutral to bad opinion of it. That's still the majority. There's also how these two episodes went down the original route, with a bit of inspiration from the manga.
Julian Edwards
>>マチだけがいない街
Christopher Bailey
I can't stress enough how pleased I am by all this butthurt, because people were making fun of my butthurt about bullying in the earlier episodes.
Elijah Peterson
>あほのこになった >幼児退行… She reverted into a child-like state.
>気持ち悪い作品になっちまったな >なんかやばくなってないかこれ This show has become bad
>なんだこのヤバい終わり方 Why is the ending so bad?
Well, these are the general sentiment of the thread.
Aiden Green
Machi decides to stay. Apparently realizing one's limitation is a sign of weakness
Lincoln Jones
Fucking nips and their puns.
Kayden Rivera
I find it hilarious reading how much they hate it but at the same time it's also a testament to how much Machi is loved as a character.
Nolan Turner
The whole idol shit was original. The actual ending scene was like 1 single page in the manga in which Machi woke up from a nightmare, which is basically a completely different situation. Basically they fucked up. The nips loved it until a few episodes ago then once they hit anime original territory they strongly disliked it. The ending did not help.
Isaac Stewart
So are there any characters left in this that aren't an irredeemable piece of shit? Besides Machi, of course.
Camden Sanders
The first seeds of disdain showed up when Hibiki was first introduced. I think that was the first episode the nips really didn't like not only because of the shit Hibiki pulled but also because of the clothing brand shilling of the second half.
Jace Clark
Hibiki could, if she would stop lusting over the dick of a child-abusing salaryman.
Mason Perez
Yoshio is the only irredeemable piece of shit. Bear is over-protective but still quite considerate of her. Delinquent stood by her too.
Aaron Bell
Oh yeah, those brand advertisements were obnoxious.
Jackson Rodriguez
>in which Machi woke up from a nightmare You could say it was the same thing, since Machi woke up from the city nightmare in the anime too. Or if you don't want to be that deep, you can just look at those two pages as part of Machi's and Natsu's daily lives, and since they were adapted in the end they prove that they both went back to living as usual. Nothing to do with mind breaking or becoming a braindead retard holy fuck.
David Bennett
The problem is the lack of catharsis.
I could accept Machi giving up if for example, they shown us Natsu begging her not to leave him or something.
