Another week, another issue.
WSJD - Boku no Hero Academia
No commentary from *me* this week, since I'm busy with something else while dumping today.

Thanks. Not related but do you have a paste for ONS?

ONS? Not sure what you mean
...
Sorry, meant Owari no Seraph

>her grandson
Wasn't it her son, as in Shigaraki's father, not Shigaraki himself? Is this a mistranslation?
Aah, sorry, no I don't keep a bin for that
I thought the same. But maybe Niggastream did the mistranslation.
...
I really don't like Shigaraki as a "main" villain, he's been shown too often to not really have the aptitude to be a main villain, not a good planner, not a good strategiser, not really possessed of charisma, too easily distracted by trivia on the battlefield, he's not physically or intellectually imposing, his quirk isn't that powerful or impressive and most of his "success" has been due to AFO and Stain being much better villains than he is.
It's cool, just thought I'd ask. Thanks

I think her son makes more sense than grandson, since it was preceded with them saying her husband died first instead of something like her husband and her children died.
Shigaraki's been the one leading the League of Villains, and they've been getting more effective over time. They're making him a parallel to Deku, he still needs to grow into becoming a villain like Deku still needs to grow into becoming a hero.

Shokugeki no Souma
>All Might's tears
Who's going to defend us now??
The thing is he's becoming more menacing with every appearance. The fact that Stain did all that and Shigaraki turned it all to his advantage is sign of his growth. He's going to recruit more members from this
As for his quirk and threat he seems quite dangerous to me based on his fight against Eraserhead and knowing the mangaka we'll see just how much more dangerous it is
Endeavor.
I wonder if later on we'll see him stage a prison break for One for All, and during that conflict One for All takes some sort of mortal blow, tells Shigaraki he's proud of his growth, and then gives All for One to Shigaraki?
a car?
We are so fucking dead
Just learned that according to supplementary material in volume 9, Tiger's a transgender male (female to male). I thought that was kind of interesting. Normally you only see male to female trans characters in shonen manga.
World Trigger
>The fact that Stain did all that and Shigaraki turned it all to his advantage
the trouble is that he didn't mean to do it - he tried to steal Stain's thunder, accidentally drew more publicity to Stain and then ended up with his organisation being linked to Stain enough to get some good recruits.
It's fairly telling that Nevada-tan and scarred neck boy come across as on the same power level as him, and come across as bit more competent, while Shigaraki's big moment of growth so far is thinking of his villain organisation as more like a dating sim than an RPG.
Which is retarded.
>Iida kept the stache
wat
favorite BnHA character?
Bakugou.
I think what matters is what the previous Viz chapters said. Anyone remember? This would be all sorts of fucked up if the Viz chapters were inconsistent.
We'd have to rely on the moon rune readers to verify it all, though the spoilers before all pointed at it being son and not grandson, but then again that's Korean.
Ainz is no different, and everybody loves him.
The previous chapters said Shigaraki is Nana's grandson, but this chapter didn't mention his name. Viz said it's her grandson who was put into foster care, Stream said it's her son. I'm waiting for FA to make sure which one was right.
That guy in the subway looks like Killer Queen.
Toga. I dunno man, she's just so dreamy.
Thanks vizanon
>Iida still has the stache on
So this "saga" is over?
>All Might will never be your parental figure
Yes, Episode IV is over
On to Episode V
Takuan and Batsu's Daily Demon Diary
The latest anime episode was pretty good.
The seven beams of light representing the seven previous OfA users before All Might sent Nomu flying was a fucking nice touch
Please no time skip. Please no time skip.
Nobody fucking cares tumblr

I can't moon. So is he son or grandson?
>but then again that's Korean.
Do koreans even have a distinction between parents/grandparents?
Author Comments
Momo is like their mom, i love it.
>The latest anime episode was pretty good.
this
the soundtrack they made for the anime is 10/10 and the animation quality is bretty good as well
I'm pleased
>Momo will never scold me
>In my 20s I was able to draw while lying down. My body's so stiff now that I can't do that.
Highly likely, most if not all Asian languages have ridiculous amounts of specific titles. While in English you would refer to every Aunt as Aunt, for something like Chinese you would go Such and Such Aunt, or So and So Uncle.
This isn't pertaining to just relatives, but even things like military organizations. You don't wanna know how many fucked up adjectives are attached to the word General, and this is something I know the Koreans share with the Chinese.
Why is the anime only 13 fucking episodes long?
>Oda too old to use the Japanese version of "lol"
>Toriko's mangaka speaking the truth
>Togashi still discussing his health problems to shut up people who thought he was just lazy
Is there any place to get Viz's version of all previous chapters? I guess I could get the latest chapters from Sup Forums's archive, but not the first ones.
Because production on the anime started when the first volume was printed. By the time they were planning things out, they basically only had up to USJ to work with.
That said, a second season is inevitable. It's too profitable NOT to.
It's not that hard to search the pastebin in the archive.
THE ARCHIVE IS DEAD
ah I see, thanks
well considering that Bones did an amazing fucking job with the adaptation so far (especially this latest episode holy fuck), the sooner we get the second season the better
Use fireden.
He's dying on us
Chapter 57 seems to have disappeared from the vol7 zip.
Pretty much. I still think that it's stupid for Shonen Jump to start on an adaptation right away (rather than waiting a bit like AssClass or Soma), but I also understand that Shonen Jump is looking for anything that could be a new cash cow and jumping on that shit while the fire's hot.
Get ready for Studio Pierott's Black Clover once they run out of Naruto to adapt.
If a second season is happening it ain't this year.
I hope they get the same staff and VAs back- they did a pretty good job overall.
It'd probably be another 13 episode cour though. So it'd probably end on the Stain arc. 24+ eps could make it to maybe the summer camp attack.
The word used to describe the child is 我が子, (wagako) which means "One's own child," or in this context, "Her own child."
In this context, at least, there is no indication of Shigaraki being her grandson, which would usually be denoted by the kanji 孫. (mago) 孫 by itself means "grandchild" and can be a part of 孫息子, (magomusuko) which explicitly specifies grandson.
I'm just mad that they allow Dragon Ball and One Piece, the two most successful shounen franchises of all time to be animated by the talentless hacks at Toei
I see your point, but if Bones does pick up the pace for next season, I could see them doing one cour for the tournament and one for Stain. Have the last shot be All For One staring at Deku's picture menacingly, and there you go.
A valid point. However, the fact that Dragon Ball and One Piece are both long-runners mean that Toei doesn't have as much budget allocation as smaller series.
Not to mention that both series are in the early morning block, surrounded by sentai series and Pretty Cure. One Piece caters to all fans, but the anime is specifically catered to little kids. And they aren't going to dedicate Madhouse-level quality to something little kids will care about the most.
Is stain arc even long enough for a cour
No, but they could make a cour with the Stain ard and end term test arc. 24 chapters, 2 chapters per episode, 12 episodes.
actually, 90% of the One Piece anime viewers in Japan are adults (cannot find the graph to back it up though, lost it somewhere in my folders)
the problem with Toei that they got so lazy after getting showered by money is that they just outsourced both animes to an outsider studio, and do absolutely no quality control over them
not to mention they fucked up One Piece completely by not introducing enough filler arcs/making breaks when they got too close to the manga, and because of this the whole Dressrossa arc was probably one of the most poorly animated and most dragged out arcs in the history of every shounen anime
I'm just glad they didn't get the rights for Hero Academia or HunterxHiatus
Thank you for the dump.
Viz fucked up. Thanks.
The sports festival is pretty long and if their goal was to cover just the festival and Stain arc, the tournament is ripe for canon filler.
A 24+ cour (likely not happening) could end on the lodge attack.
If there is a second season (I dunno if it'll happen or not) I'd think a 13-14 episode cour ending on the Stain arc is probably for the best- end on a strong hook and if it really does somehow improve enough from the first season in "worth" (manga/merch boost) then maybe it'll become one of those series that gets a new cour every 2-3 seasons
It's pretty clear this anime wasn't made to sell BDs or sell adspots on TV- which is lucky for it because the ratings have been decidedly meh/average at best. One episode got delayed and got its fucking lunch ate by YuGiOh- expect that episode's ratings (was hilariously low, like 0.3-0.4 or something) to be posted constantly by shitters.
We need that Kaminari arc soon.
vegeta has a really long dick, no wonder bulma chose him
Welp time to praise our new overlord AfO
Let's see, shall we?
Assuming the anime ends at the end of USJ, that would be 21 chapters in 13 episodes.
Sports Festival arc is 22 chapters, which is also one cour. Field Training arc is 15 chapters.
BUT the arc immediately after that, the end semester exam arc, is ten chapters. So they could tie the Stain and Vs. All Might arcs into one full cour. It ends with Tomura leaving the mall, but it could be a well-executed ending hook if done right.
Well, Toei handles like six anime projects at any single time. It's to be expected.
As for filler arcs, they tried that a few times, but it seems like the audience isn't a big fan of filler and it brings down ratings. At the same time, they can't do breaks because that would mean abandoning their special 9AM Sunday timeslot, which is basically a golden goose.
>the tournament is ripe for canon filler
You mean expanding one panel into full fledged scenes like all the monkey scenes and crowbro scenes we had in the last two episodes. Monkeybro deserved the extra attention
As expected, in Sup Forumsnon we trust.
>see you guys at school
What did he mean by this?
honestly the filler in this series is the filler i love the most, getting more screentime for some fan favorite characters is the best
>get to the boot camp
>setsuna being a cutie in the background
Hnnng.
>>Togashi still discussing his health problems to shut up people who thought he was just lazy
Really? It just sounds like endless babyish whining to me.
Really?
Holy shit, it's completely gone
bloody hell, what issue was that? that was a while ago
Wasn't how they chose to attack and abduct the training camp organized by Shigaraki? I presume the list of kids to abduct as well?
Shigaraki made 3 moves. His 2nd move was overshadowed by Stain, but the police aren't overlooking him or how Stain's capture led to riling villains up. His 3rd move shook the people's confidence in the academy to protect the students and them.
The police have marked down AfO as the mastermind behind everything, but they know Shigaraki has been the one leading all 3 (technically 2, since Stain spearheaded the 2nd action and Shiggy followed up) of the Villain Alliance's attacks up to now.
...
I guess they do say it was his plan, but I agree with that user it honestly feels like he's just being coaxed along by afo and mist
