I just have to know if my accent is too strong, I have been trying to make some propaganda videos for quite some time now & it always ends with me deleting them because of my strong Danish accent. I just have to know if it's too cringe. I believe my accent is a little too strong not sure if it´s too much.
how good is my pronunciation out of 10? or should I just delete it?
The video is primarily just me commenting on news articles, next time I will use another mic just to compare etc
Pretty noice mate, but the accent is off Perhaps you need a bit more training to sound like an Englishman, aye?
Gavin Thomas
I have actually been trying as much as possible to train my pronunciation & so on, but it´s almost like it´s impossible for me
I find it extremely frustrating.....
is it understandable at the very least? or is it too much
Aaron Howard
didnt watch your video, still im just gonna say that strong accent can be make one more unique Maybe it works in your favour, also its a fact that your own voice always sounds stupid to youself
Jordan Cox
It sounds a bit too 'nasal', like a foreign accent mixed with English, I'd say do as I did and download some English TV shows, or any English-speaking media and try to practice your accent as you can, that's what I did and it has become a lot easier for me to blend in
Benjamin Bailey
Now, I have seen other northern Germanics with such little accent differences, like Swedish people tend to pronounce 'jump' as 'yump'
Of course, it's all on your limits, don't get too stressed over it, it surely requires practice, so the more you do it, the better you will become
Angel Lewis
I found it pretty difficult to understand. But don't let me stop you. Keep working on your accent.
Zachary Peterson
Accent is pretty strong. Maybe, do some text only vids for a while, while you work on your accent
Christopher Jenkins
You sound so danish my friend it's not a bad thing but it is hard to understand. Anyway you are doing something atleast good luck my nordic brother.
Mason Nelson
Even by Danish standards, my accent is quite strong. The microphone also tends to increase my accent somehow, in the real world i tends to speak better English i believe
I have to practice some more then
i also find it a bit ironic since I'm about 23% British/Irish
i appreciate the feedback, i also find my own accent to be unbearable honestly, i cringe when i hear my own voice recordings, it´s a lot more difficult than people believe
Connor Scott
The accent is bad but it almost sounds like your thinking too much. Feel free to slow down when reading. When you're just talking it's much better, there's just a few words that your really off on like article which you're over pronouncing.
Carson Nelson
Keep in mind that it's also that you are too stressed and focused on making an English accent, while it is supposed to come out naturally
I know how it is, I speak like a lord in my privacy, yet in the company of others I sound and stutter like Bernie sanders!
Try not to be too hard on yourself, and try to not act too fancy either, since that focus on sounding posh and British is what screws it up, let it come out by itself, like you're in a podcast or something
Justin Cox
And by that I mean, speak casually, as you would speak with a friend
Dominic Ramirez
Making these videos takes a long time, most of the time i don´t even know what to say & the sound recordings also tend to be too quiet so I have to speak really loudly. & then i run into some pronunciation problems which stresses me out even more. I also don´t have time to make this stuff so have to rush through it all
i don´t know if the mic is somehow changing my voice, i would actually say i speak better English in real life than when i use a mic etc
also, i don´t try to imitate an English accent, it´s just that i struggle with the pronunciation & the limited time i have to make this
Henry Jones
Lost me in the first 20 seconds be firm talk confident state the truth youtu.be/PrnIVVWtAag
Henry Lee
I understand, it's probably the anxiety of being a newcomer into this stuff as well Watch PJW and mark dice, no joke, they do almost the same thing you want to do and through practice have learned to speak with full confidence, learn from them and try to imitate and improve
Samuel Kelly
Don't worry so much about the accent, just try to speak out loud and clear without worrying. Confident like the burger above said.
Benjamin Collins
You really need to work on that accent my man. Or hire somebody to speak your lines.
Juan Mitchell
TALK TO PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET It helps, so go play videogames
i made a previous thread about it for a month ago still haven´t managed to improve my accent & pronunciation, I will try another mic next time otherwise i just give up, frustrating as hell
Zachary Myers
Just find a fucking englshman or american who corrects your pronounciation as you talk Then proceed to use the correct pronounciation throughout the conversation
Liam Wood
>Danish accents
Brayden Sanchez
This would unironically be more understandable on danish - for non nordic people also. Not trying to be rude it´s great to see people creating content for the Right Side in the war. But yes it needs work min venn.
Jose Lewis
You sound like a Danish Jean-Claude Juncker.
Your accent isnt THAT bad. Try not to pronouce "r"'s as "w'"'s.
And its not "art-ay-cle". It's "art-ick-l"
Benjamin Reyes
Oh and important, while working on your dialect, put up a livestream of your mouth talking IN SYNC with the text, preferably the actual sound from the mouth being the recording. It´s far easier to understand wierd dialects when you see their mouths move. Will look very gay and wierd but might lend you some publicity for this reason alone, maybe even some memes.
Adrian Sanders
You could always get someone to narrate your videos for you. Ill do it if you want.
Hunter Scott
North Americans live Scandinavian accents. Don't work on hiding the accent, but speaking English a bit more clearly so people understand better
even Danes are think my accent is too much, i was even told i spoke "Villy sovndal" English lol
Ian Watson
It isnt that bad, only a few words are hard to understand. Just practice more and listen/watch English Radio/TV.
Ryder Nguyen
speak slowly... your accent is fine, it sounds unique... if you emphasize certain words to enhance the meaning of your sentences, people can understand. especially pairing with verbatim headline text, etc... shoot for sounding like you are having a good time and enjoying yourself
Adrian Lee
Actually, i was thinking about starting a type of podcast, or some type of right-wing propaganda network.
it would be quite helpful actually, you could also start your own channel & spread the message

First of all, thank you for making the video. Second, I think that you are definitely understandable (coming from a germanic-a-boo), though your accent might be grating for a less than patient English speaker. I don't think that you should give up on making videos. The more people speaking out, the better things will get. Keep practicing, and make sure to relax. When I was teaching a girl English, she was quite anxious and self-conscious whenever she had to demonstrate her skill, but when I met up with her after she'd gotten drunk with her friends, she spoke English at a level I hadn't thought her capable of. You have to be ready to try again and again without even thinking of failure, like a child would. Third, if you want to really put yourself out there, having yourself on camera will compensate for having an accent. It gives the viewer something to focus on, lets them see your lips, and generally improves the presentation. Think Golden One, Northern Brother, etc. Lastly, and this is purely from linguistic curiosity and isn't meant to make fun of OP, why do speakers of Germanic languages make english V's into W's? It's the cutest thing in the world but I don't understand why they wouldn't just enjoy making the V sound when they already tend to do it to english W's.

You could stream google hangouts like Raven did before leftypol got him flagged. They were getting more and more popular and he even had guests who were Youtubers themselves.
Brody Clark
I'm a guy from from Texas with a generic American accent and I would say you’re fairly understandable. My first bit of criticism is find a pop filter, it can be as simple as a sock or an actual pop filter, and the microphone and quality of it can change how your voice sounds. There's been a lot of good criticism in the thread but I think you need to spend some time talking to native English speakers, probably English or American people. Find some people you are comfortable talking with and tell them to help you with correcting your pronunciation of certain words.
Lucas Jenkins
good idea brother. Networking makes us stronger. Ill bookmark your page and contact you
Nathan Price
Unfortunately, my accent is a bit too heavy i believe. if i could improve my accent to a certain standard then i would do some google hangouts
i would actually say that it´s not an entirely Danish thing, i know a lot of Danes who are much better than i am to pronounce English words, it´s just me who struggles for some reason
if i knew some native speakers in real life then i would try to speak with them & practice that way, unfortunately, i don´t
Nolan Ramirez
do you contact over twitter?
Gavin Martinez
Ok I watched some more of the video your accent is pretty thick in some parts. For as much as I think it's normally super gay start of Discord server.
Kayden Reed
Whatever you do, good luck. I'll subscribe to your channel later.
Julian Moore
OP there is a youtuber that makes good propaganda vids YLYL and such named Oginos. He has a similar accent maybe only a bit less than yours i think he is Finish. try to watch him and read along and match sounds. nords tend to lose accents faster than most. i.e. my three swedish friends who came to canada to play a high level of hockey.
