I don't know if this guy was the MC, and I can't even remember the name of the fucking manga, but there was this one character who's power was to be able to look into the future via the Akashic Records. Only thing is, it was pretty fucking useless because it takes him months and years to actually sort through the knowledge and find out what he needs.

well you could have something like No game no life, you can still outsmart magical beings giving specific circumstances, but if you state that a character that thinks faster than a human or can predict future that would be insulting to logic if it looses
