Under the Dog

Who else is desperately waiting for this to come out?
under-the-dog.com/

You and maybe that other guy who backed the project.

>The story takes place within Neo Tokyo in the year 2025, five years after a severe terrorist attack at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Students possessing special abilities are forced into serving an elite anti-terrorist unit created by the United Nations, fighting against threats including other ability users. If these agents fail their mission, they will be killed along with their families, who have bombs planted within their heads. One member of this covert ops unit, a Swedish girl by the name of Anthea Kallenberg, seeks to find who she really is.

Shit.

I don't know about desperately, but I am looking forward to it.

>he backed Under the Dog
>he backed MN9

>a Swedish girl
Will she be raped?

I didn't back it. I'm trying to keep my expectations reasonably low. Don't want to disappoint my self. I just want a decent cyberpunk action flick.

The worst part in knowing that the animation will not be nearly, NEARLY as good as in the promos.

The newest trailer still looks pretty good, though. I don't think anyone really expected the final product to be too much like the teaser.

When was this supposed to be released, anyway? Feels like its been a few years since the Kickstarter concluded.

I'm only looking forward to the shitposting in the threads.

Too bad Enchanted Parade got TOO much money. Should've been only half n hour, an hour was too long.

Last I heard it is planned for August.

>LWA Got through all its strech goals days before the kickstarter ended
>UTD was barely saved at the last second by Kojima and got through none of uts stretch goals

What's the point of this image? That UTD cost more to make?

>desperately
no.

And I backed it.

What part of shitposting do you not get? It's like you weren't even in the threads when the UTD KS was happening.

i also am looking forward to it

yes august from what i have been reading

cringe

Alicia? What happened to you?

Here, have more. Fuel for when the OVA airs.

I don't see why not. The same animators are on board, and the previews indicate promising action animation.

I love how misleading this is especially when you look at the original goal and how LWA exceeded it by 5 times and had to extend its stretch goals due to demand while UTD didn't make any of its stretch goals. Like that other user stated all this shows is that UTD cost more and all we're getting is a shitty pilot while LWA started out as a short and got extended to a movie thanks to the overwhelming support. In fact I'm sure most people have forgotten about UTD after the head producer dropped out of the project.

>What's the point of this image?
To show that triggerfag autists are literally the only people who care about horse shit like UTD.

> misleading
How else are they going to bait the redditors into coughing up money?

Still disappointed it's not bestiality hentai.

You are giving too much value to UTD, the "haters" you want to BTFO have long left and forgotten about this whole project's existence.

I had forgotten how up his own ass their PR guy was.

>most people REALLY don't know how the anime industry REALLY works
o i am laffin' m8.

>a project made by nobodies
>expected to flop
>mocked for daring to make bigger goals than established projects like LWA
>under dog made it anyway
POTTERY

>LWA Got through all its strech goals days before the kickstarter ended
Yeah, no shit.Named brand managed to get it done faster. But when the no-name project ask for some brand help, "it doesn't count! because it's kojima!"
Triggerfags are just as blind as reddit.

And now he's gone. People are sure gonna be disappointed that UTD is really just generic shit.

> Directed by Masahiro Ando
> Key animation by Hidetsugu Ito, Masahiro Sato

Only two reasons to give a shit about this really. The action should look great but I don't expect anything good from the story.

>implying I made the pics

>Publishers

What?

Exactly. That's the sort of people who back it. That's why the KS made it.

>mocked for daring to make bigger goals
You mean incredibly stupid goals right? Keep in mind Trigger was forced to make more stretch goals due to demand not because they were already in waiting.
>b-b-b-b-brand
LWA was only a year old, Trigger was only in their 2nd year at that time too and didn't have anything to their name because much like UTD they were appealing to the popularity of the director and his work the only difference is that they were honest and didn't make any stupid ass promises nor needed a famous videogsme director and his drones to bail them out. Seriously what the fuck are you trying to prove by defending this shit that nobody cares for anymore? Did a Triggerfag molest you are something?

>The story takes place within Neo Tokyo in the year 2025, five years after a severe terrorist attack at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Nice.

Why do they always have to drop the ball like this?

Both parts sound generic as fuck
>Neo Tokyo
Seriously?

>Says the delusional Triggerfag still believing the old Gainax magic will save them
>while ranting SO MUCH about how nobody cares.

Hilarious.

Here's a (you)

>original concepts
>under the dog

Well, the backers are 90s nostalgiafags. That sort of shows seems to be up their alley.

>Not wanting more cyberpunk anime to be made

Except that the first part, ignoring the Neo Tokyo, isn't insanely unrealistic. The change in atmosphere after a big attack, especially for a nation like Japan that doesn't have to deal with terrorism, could be neat. I bet you call everything you don't like generic.

>If I haven't seen it its new to me

I'm patiently waiting for the Blame movie/OVA instead. Unlike Sidonia, the CG would actually suit the setting since Blame is like 70% architecture and 20% silicon lifeforms.

Quality over quantity. And lets's face it, UTD's cyberpunk setting isn't going to matter much since it'll probably be some standard action series with some angsty melodrama anyway.

I want to see how bad it turns out.

I think the image gives a opposite message than what the maker intended. It feels more like a poetic message to show how Sup Forums is gullible enough to spend this much extra money on anime just like buying DLCs, that they are simple enough to put their money without thinking over the relevant details like who is producing it. And this is the result of being easily baited by "#KEEP ANIME ALIVE" and what your favorite famous person like'd on their facebook, a project that almost got cancelled several times, years of delays, for production quality that isn't nearly worth as much.

Kickerstarter shit, maybe at best the animation will e slightly above average but the plot is basically guaranteed to be mediocre or worse.

The action animation will be good given the animators involved but that's going to be the only good thing about the show.

Do they really not know how the anime industry works Kami?

>REALLY
>REALLY

What a shame considering the

>HEAVY BURDEN

On their shoulders.

Into the trash it fucking goes.

...

There are publishers, though - Bandai, Aniplex, Pony Canyon, etc.
But the guy's still an idiot.

Shouldn't it already be out?

Isn't this basically the premise of First Squad? Because First Squad was fucking terrible.

Under the dog (what a stupid fucking name) is going to be the Mighty Number 9 of kickstarter anime.

People have no expectations for this unlike MN9.

People who backed it do.

Do you even know what generic means? Realism has fucking nothing to do with it. Muh authoritarian cyberpunk dystopia is not unique or inherently interesting, and anti-terrorist measures curbing freedom isn't either. If you seriously read that first sentence and got your hopes up, the best-case scenario is that you're naive.

Can't be hard to please them, as long as the show delivers some "deep" story and well-animated action. The latter is bound to happen since the animators involved are good.

Am I the only one who isn't totally offended by the premise of the OVA. I was going to skip RE:Zero for sounding like a generic isekai story. However, after hearing good things about it, I picked it up and actually liked it.

As soon as I saw Students I felt an overpowering wave of stagnation suffocate any hope I had.

>Still believeing in kickstarters after mighty fiasco
It's going to end up horrible

>comparing video games with anime
So far, the track record for crowdfunded anime is still way ahead of games. UTD may not be anything special, but at worse, it'll just be mediocre rather than actually horrible.

The track record for actual studios doing kickstarter is decent, not that it's very big. The track record for non-studios doing anime Kickstarters is this UTD bullshit and fucking Devil's Legacy.

>Devil's Legacy
That doesn't count. It's just a bunch of Pinoy in-betweens.
