no, I saw a nip blog post about the mess in another thread earlier today about this.

It was a WN first. the WN was completed. It was getting published when another WN author realized like 70% of the WN was plagerized from his WN, he raised a huge shit about it, the publisher checked it out and confirmed that "yep" the WN the LN was based on was almost completely plagerized from another author's works. So they dropped publishing.

The general thought is the Manga will hit the end of the 3rd volume of the LNs then turn into an original story/ending. (assuming the manga sells well enough to get to the end of vol 3 of the LN)

The only difference between the 2 is that this one was established as a "childhood friend" who the MC looked after so the author was expecting us to care for their relationship and feel something when she turns into a bitch. However, she turned 180 so fast, with no explanation, with no backstory, that we as readers don't feel anything. Shitty writing is shitty writing in the end.

Mein however was established as just a possible companion. We knew nothing about her, about her past and what she was thinking. Because we knew nothing about her it was somewhat passable when she turned out to be a bitch just a few pages down the road.
