When I was 8 I was given an IQ test by duke university researchers because I was a top test scorer in the US, I got a 138. I remember it being much more complex and abstract than this test, and "accelerating" MUCH faster.

I remember taking one such test in 8th grade, and it was much much more complex, pattern recognition was less than a third of the test. With verbal questions and questions designed to test casual understanding of physics (water displacement, weights, etc).
