Would you watch an anime about skateboarding?
no lolis or tsundere, minimal slife-of-lif and mostly dudes ripping

Nah im not a degenerate tween faggot like you.
Maybe if it's a Kyoani show
>slice of life about shredding
>kid just wants to skate because hes not smart, his parents berate him because of it even though he does try, turns out hes good skateboarding
>uses skateboarding to escape to his own personal reality, things are good for a bit
>comes home one day after landing THAT trick for the first time to mom crying and dad with food all over him
>turns out dad was cheating
>family issues
>skate
>some sick japanese nu metal and punk soundtrack
>literally a show about a guy trying to live as a teen with his friends and doing hooligan type stuff (break into a rundown place to skate, etc)
Id watch it
I would watch that
Your premise sounds like only a few episodes though, maybe even just the first. Need more plot
Also, the dad cheating is cliche, let's make it the mom who is unfaithful
I'm not twelve, so no.
>cliche
Who fucking gives a shit?
sounds fujobait.
statistics say higher probability of men cheating in Japan last time I checked - though thats also stats of people who willingly admitted it
Maybe he also doesn't have many friends and through skating he kind of joins a local crew of guys/girls he slowly makes friends with - making him want to skate more since he finally feels accepted by people. Maybe there is a small skate jam that he decides to enter - but things happen along the way to shake things up. Such as like maybe his parents while fighting breaks his board or something, preventing him from skating for a bit or a friend loans him an older one.
SO HERE I AM
DOING EVERYTHING I CAN
Fujo bait makes money maaaaaan.
A simple premise very well done, that would be pretty cool.
A grounded story like that would ever happen in anime. The best you can hope for is prince of stride but with skateboarding.
PRETENDING III'M A SUPERMAN
So just rocket power, but made in japan.
I... I can dig it, squid
An anime would have the budget for a fisheye lense.
youtube.com
AS THE ANCIENT HAWAIIANS USED TO SAY
Who needs an anime about skating when we have Tony Hawk's Boom Boom Sabotage?
No complys are the shit.
youtube.com
90's anime?
It would need a licensed soundtrack.
>mostly dudes
Fujoshit. The plot would be void of anything worth anyone's time.
I don't think it would be hard to get some licences to maybe some upcoming japanese nu metal bands - there are like a billion of them
Yes, but only if they nailed the look.
>no lolis or tsundere, minimal slife-of-lif and mostly dudes ripping
Wouldn't watch.
I mean something like blink 182 or limp bizkit but i didn't why i had that idea in first time.
Anyway it would need a very good plot.
Something good that it can surpass the public-focused barrier or atleast not be generic shit.
I feel like it could be a really good coming of age story
Like maybe it turns out its the guy telling the story in his like 40's to his kid or something at the end
Yes
Nah, get The Pillows to do it.

youtube.com
They're too busy with the FLCL sequel.
I hope.
Three-dimensional characters with reslistic motivations.
Something close to pursuit of the hapyness essence for example.
sakuga skateboard anime or fuck off
>baby's first japanese band
Kek
And that makes them not as good?
Just imagine MC in a contest against his rival.
And suddenly his rival changes stance.
"S-SWITCHU!!"
>baby gets offended
air gear is pretty close
Nope
You were trying to offend me? Your superiority complex is showing.
>shonen
>ecchi
>harem
It doesn't
midori are really fucking good but I don't think they would fit the skate board theme
still on my top 5 favourite albums of all time tho
This really could work but I'm imagining it would be fujo bait or else it wouldn't sell
LIGHTS OUT
this post feels like it has emotional baggage behind it
>Hunched over old man pulls a master Roshi and teaches these young hooligans hour to grind with the spirit of the board
>that climax at the armature skate contest when the MC beefs it
>The tomboyish grlpower skater that just wants to hang with the guys.
You're absolutely right I'd watch it.
MAKE IT HAPPEN JAPAN.
I remember watching that one with rollerblades in the future, seriously, dumb fucking shit.
For sure the only good thing about Air Gear is the manga Art and the Ost.
who cares
It's too late. Should have made it in the 90s. If Initial D came out now it wouldn't have been such a classic.
>no lolis
'Lolis skateboarding competitively' was the staple in Write An Anime threads before Keit-ai, fuck you.
>How I met your kaa-san
It'd probably be better of as a movie
Fund it.
What's the OP?
I suggest: youtube.com
>mostly dudes
>cute traps doing cute skateboarding things
I can dig it
>skateboard
>all girls
>idolshit tier
>they turn into magical girls using talking magic skateboards with eyes
>they have to fight evil skateboarders who violate the law because they were possessed by evil skateboards
>also MC is a rich mary sue tier tomboy looking girl who stopped skateboarding because her parents doesn't like it.
yeah sure.
>idolshit tier
>they turn into magical girls using talking magic skateboards with eyes
Was with you until this. No. Just lolis literally skateboarding, you mong.
Do you know me or something? This shit sounds like something straight out of my life right now.
>year ago, starting skating again
>meet some friends at the skatepark, all is good for about 6 months
>come home one night
>parents don't know I'm in the house
>hear my mom and dad arguing
>hear my mom saying how she caught my dad cheating on her because she went through his phone
>dad has been talking to about 3 different girls and going on "business" trips solely to just meet with these girls
>confront my mom, telling her I heard the whole thing
>fast forward 2 months
>parents now filing for divorce
>stuck between living in a shitty neighbourhood with my mom, or living with my dad at my current house because he makes enough money to live at the house
>stressed as fuck daily, but escape that stress hanging out with friends skating, getting into shenanigans
>basically the last summer I get to hang out with all my friends together because they're moving onto bigger and better things in different towns and going to university and such
Fuck I don't normally watch anime, but i'd watch it just because I can relate. I plan on just couch surfing next year at uni with the skatebros, so that could be the premise of a follow up series or something idk.
