Baki Dou

This kills the crocodile.

I'm still salty Jack lost.

is Musashi kill yet
I want to move onto the next arc already

RIP crocodile, the second strongest animal to exist in Baki
right behind the legendary monster, "Big Elephant"

Soon, my friend
Soon.

I got upset when I was halfway through my quick-TL of 114, so I'll write up the key points:
-Doppo drinks some obscure Chinese wine that Tokugawa just happened to have
-Doppo and Tokugawa eat dumplings
-Doppo is surprised that the dumplings have a sweet, sugary taste
-Tokugawa explains the cultural and historical context of what the dumplings are specifically and how they are viewed by contemporary society as a result of socio-economical change vis-à-vis the West's influence on Eastern culinary preparation
-Tokugawa proposes the "blade vs fang" thing to Doppo
-Doppo thinks about it
-Chapter ends with both of them exclaiming at the same time "Which is betteeeeeeeer?"

The only credit I'll give the chapter is this neat picture of young Musashi

not sure if that anatomy correct

try forcing a large animal into a small hole and report back

It's kinda weird how Motobe became this fearsome, unbeatable and and unpredictable warrior.

Weird, but sexy.

Maybe it's a synchronity thing.

What, like all the Baki characters will start using weapons now? Or something else?

>crocodile
>sweating
trash

It's wet, not sweating. It was in the water like 2 seconds ago.

I'm thinking of it being like the four prisoners escaping at the same time - like Motobe wasn't quite giving it his all before because he was unconsciously waiting for Musashi. It's how I'm rationalizing it!

He gets to use weapons, so his options have expanded.

Is Memetobe the hero we've all been waiting for?

yes

Yeah it's stupid. The power levels in Baki are wildly inconsistent. This is the same Jack that killed a polar bear with his bare hands and was string enough to bend steel olympic bars.

The whole weapons thing is dumb too. It becomes a test of whole has the better arsenal.

>string
Yeah like a piece of string
Because Jack is weak

protip: every main fighter in Baki can kill a polar bear with their bare hands

except memetobe

but with weapons, not even10 polarbears would be enough to bring him down

Didn't he job during the tournament arc?

Nah mate the author realized he wrote himself into a corner with Son of Ogre when Baki was falling off of 100 story sky scrapers without hurting himself and is trying to dial it back. I don't blame him because it was getting redic.

>redic.
relic?
reddit?

This does not make Jack not a jobber

30 stories, not 100. And he was injured; he was unconscious until Yuujiro demanded he wake up. If you paid attention to the end of SoO, you'd notice that virtually every bone in Baki's body was broken and all of his organs/muscles/tissue was fucked.

Perhaps, but anyone that's not the focal point of the current arc is pretty much a jobber, that's just how manga writing works.

I give him some credit for being the main villain in Baki 1 and schooling that criminal guy in Baki 2 and Ali junior. I put him ahead of Retsu when it comes to jobber status. Tho Retsu is probably the bigger jobber in the entire series,

>anyone that's not the focal point of the current arc is pretty much a jobber, that's just how manga writing works.
so don't call them a jobber, then?
cus that's not what it means in the first place

A 30 story fall and did nothing but knock him unconscious. Like I said the story was getting ridiculous.

> If you paid attention to the end of SoO, you'd notice that virtually every bone in Baki's body was broken and all of his organs/muscles/tissue was fucked.

From being smash into a car at sonic speed by Yuujiro multiple times. And he still got up and flipped an imaginary table later.

One slam into loose rocks by Mushashi seems to do the job in the Dou though. Like I said the power levels are wildly inconsistent.

Wait, what's happening to the crocodile?

Got Pickled

Does Motobe seriously think Musashi could have killed Yujiro with a single hit back there? That sounds ridiculous.

>yfw Musashi destroys Motobe in a single chapter

Jack is literally Worf

poor crocodile :(

What's the timeline like for Baki anyways? I can't tell with all the different series being translated. Anyone got a general rundown of notable events throughout the series?

>Jack is now 7'10 and 400 lbs

Jesus Christ. Good thing Baki doesn't follow real life physics, as that would cripple him more than being an advantage.

It hasn't been an advantage frankly

It's one of the problems with the way the Japanese written language works. Well, a positive to some readers; a negative to others. In an absolute literal translation, iirc, he says something to the effect of
>The Ogre would have been ____ed by that

>7'10
he's 8' even

and that's the point; he's weaker because he made himself taller than is healthy

Hey, does any site have Grappler Baki chapters 171-180? I thought Wild Fags had uploaded it to batoto, but apparently they took them down.

Can someone explain to me what this Kaku Kaioh intermission was about? It came up during Shibukawa's encounter with Musashi, but I really don't see the relation.

Also, was this Retsu's?

They didn't take it down, where the fuck are you getting your information?

Explaining Shibukawa's art form. That it's a more-perfect form of self-defense than Chinese martial arts. Yes, it's Retsu's.

Err, I should clarify - that's not Shibukawa who he's referencing. It's Morihei Ueshiba, the progenitor of aikido. Shibukawa was the most accomplished student of his, and surpassed him at age ~30 something.
