What if in every protoculture ruin lies a baby of said protoculture, and when they mature they release a ton of energy. That's the real reason the ruins on Windermere are blown up. Also maybe that would explain a lot about Mikumo, it also might explain why freyja and Mikumo's fold waves amplify each other. Since Freyja witnessed the birth of Mikumo they might share a connection or something.

Freyja and Mikumo are destined to transcend the series. At the end of the last episode only Kaname, Makina and Reina will be the last members of Walkure.

You should read this one, Macross E is bad but Keith's is pretty good.

Then there's Freyja's manga, a retelling of the anime from Freyja's point of view but it has a couple of flashback scenes from Freyja in Windermere. Again, on the archive.

Kind of a crack theory but it would also explain why of all the characters in the show Mikumo interacts with Hayate the least, or not at all.

Mikumo is from the future, and she has come back to the past for a reason. She is the first Windermere/Human hydride as her parents are Freyja and Hayate. She is able to interact with Freyja because her mom passed after she was born due to her lifespan limit, but interacting too much with her dad can alter the future.

It's not Mikumo. Mikumo was the last member of Walkure before Freyja. It's the first Walkure memember. The hair pattern and body shape correlates too.
