Is the problem with self help programs. If you have the motivation to help yourself then you don't really need them, and if you don't have the motivation to help yourself, that's a problem that buying a book isn't likely to fix.

I did that shit when I went to therapy... I'm still an asshole. But, I'm not as anxious and depressed as I was. It's one of those things where you say "yeah I fucked up back in the day" and then your like "this is the shit I want to do, and this is how I will do it." Self help is mental masturbation, and self help authors just produce the fap material that people need to feel like they're making progress, without actually making progress. Only a fraction of the people who purchase any given self help book ever actually help themselves.
