I like ayn rand. She wasn't right about everything but she had some interesting ideas.
She highlights the virtues of a highly individualistic culture and the harm thats been caused in the name of altruism. I dont think she's absolutely right, I think society needs a balance of community and collectivism and individualism. If society is too individualistic it atomizes and if its too collectivist the culture becomes authoritarian and suffocating.
You gotta get into some hegelian dialectics and synthesize the best parts of individualism and collectivism.
