It's a website for 1 on 1 anonymous political chat featuring various positions. It has gone through a complete redesign (and by that I mean literally complete redesign, I rewrote the whole code). Sadly, I have still not implemented websockets because my current hosting doesn't allow for opening up ports for it to work. Still, it should work better than it did before.
As for writers/invested ideologues: If you like the website, and are a writer interested in politics, if you would like your article/writings to appear on the website send me an email at [email protected] I'm looking for up to few writers on each position, and anything that relates to a polite analysis of current events or other positions is fine by me. The only mandatory thing is good english.
Do not take this too seriously, if you think you have something interesting to put up - it's probably good.
In either case, if you like the website give the thread a bump. Will also answer any questions you have below.

Theoretically? As many as it needs. It actually depends on the host. When they decide that I'm leeching too much resources, they'll start demanding I pay for dedicated server.
Dylan Walker
>they'll start demanding I pay for dedicated server Just to clarify - according to my calculations this shouldn't happen before there is 20-40 people actively chatting at all time, 24/7.

also, is there a character limit for the writings? do you have any specific template for writers to apply with? or a general theme?

thank you!

Not yet, I'll make a post about that on the frontpage soon. For now, just contact me with the position you'd like to represent, and when you have something to push I'll read through it. If it's good I'll make you an email address if you want, an account so you can publish.

Thanks anons.
I will. It's tough to find a receptive place that needs no karma (TM) with more left-wing audience.
Depends on who you get paired with. Most people are very civil, judging from the feedback. But there's some Serb here and there, heh Here's how it goes exactly:
Group 1: Class Lib, Lib, SocDem Group 2: Prog, Green, Com, AnCom Group 3: Con, Libert, AnCap Group 4: AR, Fasc, NatSoc,Trad
If you chose "hostile" option, you will not be paired within your group.

Hello user, im interested in writing some articles for you. Ill get to writing and will contact your listed email, this websites looking great!
I should also mention that I do onlinr advertisement consultation and general promotion and e-business work, if youd like help promoting the site to a mainstream audience Id be happy to assist for free.
Luke Rogers
The issue is that there are, I imagine, primitivists both on left and the right. So if I add I'd have to either add both or completely mess up current conception.
If you have some advice on this, do tell.
Easton Collins

I am going to sleep soon, so I guess, no.
Final notes, though.
You can get a small VPS node on AWS for a year for free. That will cover several hundreds of Sup Forumstards.
I highly don't recommend using PHP as backend for this tool as it's designed to be request-response simple scripting language.
What you need is some nginx as reverse-proxy to stream websockets back to your webserver.
Yeah, you can use node.js or whatever framework (I recommend tornado) but you need a messaging 'broker' to solve your chat communications, you don't have to use mysql for that this. Like I said, rabbitmq will solve it like a charm.
You open a websocket connection, web server opens a queue on the broker, whoa, suddenly you have a real-time chat between two parties, and this shit scales well.
Elijah Flores

Oh, I see. Is left-right the only distinction you make when pairing people up? Thinking about it from a perspective of having a good debate, maybe it's exactly as detailed as you can get without complicating things up. From an autistic perspective I would prefer a kind of multi-axis approach that would account for individualist-collectivist, elected-inherited, democratic-oligocratic, totalitarian-anarchist and all those other dichotomies but that's probably too high-resolution for most people. Plus there's an issue of defining the opposites there - you could agree with a guy on everything except that one thing that sparks the most fierce debate, or you could disagree on everything, but agree on that one thing that matters to both of you.
I guess the best way is to keep it about the broad left-right debate, and either forget about primitivist-technologist axis altogether, or just throw in anprims and call it a day, since that's what realistically most primitivists are. Or maybe you could include a separate autism mode where you have a set of axes to define your political views and get paired with an autist with the opposite weighted average or whatever. It seems unnecessary though, and not something that would be popular.
Xavier Jenkins
>Oh, I see. Is left-right the only distinction you make when pairing people up? Not at all. There are 3 options 1) ALL POSITIONS 2) ALL POSITIONS EXCEPT MY OWN 3) HOSTILE (see end of post here )
>multi-axis approach that would account for individualist-collectivist, elected-inherited, democratic-oligocratic, totalitarian-anarchist and all those other dichotomies but that's probably too high-resolution for most people They would be too much for most, yes, but that's actually an interesting idea. I could add extra queue variables that would pair you on this basis actually. WIll think about it.
On the end of your post, I'm also considering "other left" and "other right" options in general.
Parker Evans
Honestly if you have a lot of free time shilling it on political facebook groups and pages, other chans, lefty pol, leddit, you could get a decent number of visits. I have some other ideas about ethical ways to monetize the site
Obvious ones such as patreon (probably the best option), advertisements, a store pages with affilate links to product that each faction would like, or you could get merch made or buy whole sale prodcuts, for instance flags for each group ect.

Benjamin Anderson
>I have some other ideas about ethical ways to monetize the site Monetizing would be great eventually, I'm just trying to avoid it before there is a decent userbase (and thus satisfactory experience). If I got onto an empty site and saw ads and got paired with no one in reasonable time, I'd personally take it the wrong way. So I don't want to push it.
>Obvious ones such as patreon (probably the best option), advertisements, a store pages with affilate links to product that each faction would like, or you could get merch made or buy whole sale prodcuts, for instance flags for each group ect. Some interesting suggestions there. I actually do have a patreon (on 0) which I removed from page in process of rewriting the code, for obvious reasons. The "each faction" thing is an interesting suggestion, something I was considering. I thought about contacting specialized book stores and arranging a small fixed price (maybe few dozen $ a month) to cover the hosting expenses (which would allow me to transition to a decent server). The merch thing, especially flags is something that didn't cross my mind at all and that's a great one.
Still, I don't want to push it on users before they can get a fast and satisfactory experience.
Maybe. If you'd like to help I can walk you through on private any time you want though, independently of this.
Lincoln Hill
Oh boy another platform that will just be filled with false flagging out the ass like Sup Forums with its meme flags.
Asher Roberts

Angel Martinez
What arw your plans to prevent it from happening?
Juan Wright
Having thought about it some more, the autism mode could work if you did it like this: >define several axes for various political dichotomies, running from -X to X >ask the participant to mark his beliefs on those axes based on how important every particular point (or its reverse) is for him >when pairing people compare their points on every axis to achieve either the greatest sum of all deltas or a particular delta on some axis being greater than some threshold >for the sum of delta it's just your regular debate; for a particular delta, its axis becomes the point of the debate >do the reverse for the in-group conversation - pick the guy with the smallest sum of all deltas etc etc I've no idea how this would work mathematically, and you probably don't compare people pairwise when doing the matching right? I'm sure you faggots have some trick to reduce the amount of computation needed.
A side bonus is that you can have centrists with this approach, and we all love those. You could also have it show the appropriate general name for every combination of beliefs, in case people don't even know what they are, so it becomes a kind of a political compass offshoot.
All in all it's probably entirely unnecessary.
Wyatt Myers
None at all. It would become an issue if shills against any specific position are a significant part of the userbase, which I doubt will happen.
Independently of that, I'm considering adding an ignore option for specific person after you finish the chat.
Jose Collins
This seems like a wonderful site and i wish you the best of luck in future updates.
Robert Jones
I have considered calculating the standard 2D political compass delta before, but the issue is that I imagine that for most people it would just put them off. Just clicking on position and getting into chat is easiest thing.
Your idea is interesting in the aspect of pairing actually, with assigning all the properties to existing positions, and then allowing the more picky user to chose which axis he wants to go on. (regular users get paired regularly, and those with special demands can narrow their pool of opponents on any axis they want, merely by existing variables for chosen positions).
It's sort of a half-way solution, easy on the end-user. It's a lot of work though, will think about.
Dylan Garcia
Thank you a lot.
Jonathan Clark
having a fun discussion, thanks OP
Jason Ward
No, thank you. If stuff like your site didn't exist then there would be almost no actual political discussion nowadays.
Daniel Campbell
I like the idea of 1 on 1 rather than a group or message board. It makes shilling harder since most shilling relies on attention-getting tactics that multiply the damage the shill can do.
Asher Powell
It's a good feel when people like your service bros.
Yeah. A lot of chats are somewhat long (sometimes multi-hour) which was something I didn't expect when I was writing it. I doubt any sort of shill will ever engage in serious discussion desu.

It's probably wiser to limit the functionality to what it currently is after all. The purpose is (from what I'm seeing) to bring the broader right and the broader left together and allow them to duke it out, but if you added various axes people would ask for more and start to bitch along the lines of "where is muh pro-life vs pro-choice", "where is muh death penalty vs life imprisonment" etc, and after you'd have caved in and added them all, it would become just your regular omegle or chatroulette or whatever.
Unless of course that's what you actually want. To allow a guy that wants to argue specifically about abortion to find another guy to argue with. But yeah, to me the left-right debate looks like the most interesting or at least the most relevant right now, so even stopping at that level makes perfect sense.
Anthony Hughes

Specializing book stores would be great, especially since you could link to amazon books with an affiliate link which means a percentage of anything anyone buys after visiting amazon on your link and getting your amazon affiliate cookie will go to you. This is great because its nearly completely passive income.
Youre right about not pushing it on the users, this stuff is rolled out usually in phases. Ill usually do 3 phases in a 12 month plan, each phase of development lasts 4 months so its pretty slow process on purpose because you want to make sure the user experience is at its best and yoi dont want to appear too money hungry because its bad pr.
