Gnome is comfy. KDE and Unity are cancer.

DEs with actual, comfortable GUIs are incredibly nice to have and valuable to people who want to use their computer for day-to-day tasks and not program or LARP as a hacker. As someone who hates Mac and Windows, Linux is perfect if you put the right stuff in it.

I in fact had a better success rate to play a game at FreeBSD than at Ubuntu.

Pain in the ass is that it does not have a suspend mode (if you use a laptop), and it tend to crash its filesystem with no surviovrs after an unsucessful forced reboot.

Borderlands 2 runs just fine under Linux. Same goes for Rocket League, Metro Redux, and all of Valve's stuff. Mad Max is a bit choppy on my system. Stay away from the Saints Row games. Their ports are absolute garbage.

Gnome is great on laptops imo, especially since it works with Wayland perfectly. I stick to KDE on desktop though.
