Sad little cottage industry with it's sad little 4 digit sales tallies and event tickets.
Lucas Hernandez
>*6,880 00/03 Kabaneri
Thank God, I was scared it would sell 10K.
Jonathan Phillips
More than enough to outsell pretty much the entire season as expected. Also S2 :)
Jackson Harris
To put into perspective how much Kabaneri was overestimated, it had 9903 points by the time of release date.
Hudson Sanders
At this rate it's looking like Macross is the only hope of that. Re:Zero might be able to inch over the line since it's only had 5 days compared to seven for the others and seems to still be charting but I doubt it. GuP kind of ate this seasons sales. It's like over 200,000 just for the movie alone and about 10K at least for the older BD's versus...that mess. The thing is all of these shows had event tickets and some even some pretty massive advertising campaigns and that's what it amounts too. Time for a new business model.
Jeremiah Rodriguez
Ouch
Lincoln Perry
Good joke. Kabaneri sales are cratering while Re zero and Haifuri will continue to get sales in the second week and go past it.
Lucas Thomas
Did stalker literally just underestimate everything?
Owen Lewis
>Impying it wont get a boost with the finale + 2nd cour announcement
Deluded shitter is deluded, both shit zero and haifuritrash will stay below it wheter you like it or not.
Jaxon Howard
Haifuri beaten its estimate.
Isaac Reyes
If you totaled up all this seasons stuff so far that actually charted and combined the numbers it wouldn't even amount to a 3rd of Girls und Panzer Der Film's Limited Edition Blu-Ray Volumes first week sales alone. That's the power gap between this season of anime and that movie and I doubt Macross Delta is enough to make a difference
Matthew Long
Almost everything. Haifuri had 5589 points.
Wyatt Gray
>finale
If you mean an ending so bad that it makes Guilty Crown's and Valvrave's look like masterpieces, sure. There won't be a second cour and it'll be forgotten in a week.
Colton Johnson
What happened to the all mighty otaku dollars? Are the neets finally die off?
Brandon Roberts
Kabaneri sells better than VVV but worse than Guilty Crown.
The hype and sales died down when Biba got introduced.
Well, good to see that Jojo is consistent. Part 5 confirmed.
Jonathan Bailey
Deluded fedora, your tears are delicious. Also OP only posted the Kabaneri BD numbers, with DVD it sold more than jojo.
Dylan Brooks
And its final episode aired on Saturday, so the boost from that hasn't taken full effect. It'll probably get a good amount of second week sales.
Benjamin Jenkins
Haifuri is almost already off the chart and it's store front event ticket offer expires at the end of the first week. I maybe see it gaining like another 2K tops. Re:Zero still has episodes and it's been the most explosively growing show in terms of popularity among buying otaku so I can see it having a strong second week. It's also the only show on that list of note that got released later in the week so all the more reason it's second week numbers are probably going to be a bit stronger. Still not expecting 10K for anything here.
Nolan Nelson
>Also OP only posted the Kabaneri BD numbers, with DVD it sold more than jojo.
Part 5 will probably end up selling more than Part 4 though.
Ryan Thomas
Haifuri V1 has no event ticket and is at rank 37, close to Re Zero. Its final episode aired at the end of the week so the effect from that hasn't been fully recorded. Contrast that with Kabaneri, which is dropping fast.
Zachary Collins
Never understood why the nips love 5 so much. I mean no part of JoJo is "bad" but 5 is definitely the least good
Carson Reed
A storefront effect of about 1000 is not too surprising considering the event ticket offer that only kicked in last Friday and all the different benefits across the stores. I've seen Aniplex shows double their estimates before like Charlotte cause of storefront only benefits and personally had it pegged at about 7K first week minimum cause of this. I actually expected everything here to be at least a thousand higher and in Kabaneri's case maybe even double what it sold. Really tough look for the late night anime industry right now.

Carson Peterson
The fuck? Everything got overestimated? How does this even happen? Let alone those pathetic numbers across the board.
Cameron Bailey
Kabaneri: 70% of pt. JoJo: 86% of pt. Re:Zero: 86% of pt. Haifuri: 120% of pt. Bakuon!!: 64%of pt. Flying Witch: 85%of pt. Netoge: 71% of pt. Kuma Miko: 90% of pt. Bungo-Stray-Dogs: 191% of pt.
Eli Gomez
Part 5 with shit American scans and translations
Isaac Wilson
Konosuba didn't sell 10K first week and ended at 12K. You have to give stuff time to sell.
Jaxon Richardson
yo where dat edgy bitch at
Daniel Phillips
It has a storefront event ticket thing which seems like some sort of outdoor recording session for a Haifuri Radio show. You have to buy it from a designated anime shop and then you get a ticket postcard you mail in to get the actual pass. They're only accepting them for a couple more days though and the event is in a couple weeks. Volume 2 and 3 just plain have event tickets but for what I don't know yet. Also Amazon rank after release date doesn't tell you much unless it's stupid high and by that I mean like top 5 a month after release like Girls und Panzer Der Film.
Jace Robinson

The event doesn't seem like a big deal if it's not even advertised on amazon. I still haven't heard a source for it either.
>Also Amazon rank after release date doesn't tell you much unless it's stupid high and by that I mean like top 5 a month after release like Girls und Panzer Der Film.
Saekano continued to sell in subsequent weeks and its V1 was never in the top 5. Re Zero isn't much higher than Haifuri and we all know that will get a bunch of sales second week.
Ryder Perez
Why are people surprised. It's the show that Aniplex put all of it's marketing power into this season and is catching the runoff from the GuP buzz by having a lot of the same staff and marketing this fact. Also that's pretty shit for how popular the genre is right now. Arpeggio of Blue Steel did like double that first week with a fraction of the advertising and merchandising push. Pretty sure same with Strike Witches. Kancolle did like 3 times that and the show was panned by it's own fans. Dare I even mention Girls und Panzer.
Colton Cruz
>*6,880 00/03 Kabaneri I'm glad it's doing below expectations but fuck, that trash sold nearly 7k, I'm feeling sick.
Jeremiah Brooks
Not liking JoJo is fine and all but you can't deny it's one of the most popular and celebrated mangas ever. Really shouldn't surprise anyone its a big seller
Jose Perry
I can see the top 4 all still reaching 10k. Also OP forgot the unranked shows. Waiting for full version

I guess it's possible. Aniplex is pushing Haifuri like it's some sort of Final Fantasy like desperation scenario so it's bound to have some effect on 2nd week. I just haven't seen a full on Saekano like scenario from them since Saekano.
Christian Brooks
>these numbers >still a fuckton of anime getting made regardless Is this just the calm before the inevitable collapse or are BDs becoming less and less of the go to indicator of a show's success now?
Aiden Gray
>deluded Kabanerifag thinking his shitty SnK clone won't be surpassed soon
No more episodes for your trash anime user, while Haifuri and Re:Zero will keep going.

Relax, it had an event ticket for a big band. V2 and the rest will drop like a rock.
Andrew Robinson
Where is redditoiga aka worst show of the season?
Parker Baker
Where's bo/co/ no capeshit?
Jacob Lee
I'd go with the latter. Streaming anime has taken off in a big way so Imagine a lot of japs are moving over to that instead of overpriced BDs
Jason Campbell
>waiting to see the sales of those shows At least Kuma Miko and Flying Witch will get a boost so they at least appear higher in standing.
Robert Murphy
Didn't it only have 100pts at the last Stalker thread?
Not out yet.
Evan Diaz
I was in Japan recently and that shit was advertising almost everywhere.
Nolan Howard
Generally, suppliers make more things as they get more profitable, so with how the number of anime getting produced continues to increase and how BD numbers continue to fall, the latter is more probable.
Jacob Scott
Releases July 6th. I would be surprised if it breaks 1k.
This industry is full of idiots so I bet this is a sign to keep making more garbage and drive it off a cliff. At this point it's looking like only the biggest whales that leap at event tickets are even still buying this shit. Meanwhile iDOLM@STER sold like 89K CD's this week which is equivalent to like 24K BD's. Maybe the solution really is make more idol anime and throw event tickets in them.
Nathan Myers
I'd wager that there are a ton of invisible variables alongside BD sales that have increased in prominence over the past few years. And I'd even wager that those variables can't be measured as simple as a glance at oricon because this shit is actually baffling me as well. If next season, one with god damn Love Live of all things, and maybe the season after that with Brave Witches as well have numbers this low but the industry still looks to be afloat then it's definitely the latter.
That would basically mean that stalker threads are basically useless now. Like genuinely unreliable garbage used only for shitposting.
Ah fuck it. We ride til we die.
Joseph Morris
Now look at GCs first week sales: *6, *7,164 *7,164 Guilty Crown vol.1 Limited Edition *8, *2,878 *2,878 Guilty Crown vol.1 Limited Edition -------------------------------------- *5, 10,042 Guilty Crown
At the end the show sold 8k average over 11 volumes. Kabaneri didn't even hit 8k with its first volume.
Joshua Scott
Not entirely sure which direction you're being stupid in but you might want to notice that it's 2nd behind Jojo already.
Brayden Young
Well at least Bungo didn't flop, I want Bones to barely survive.
William Barnes
Who cares that also had an event ticket
Cooper Hill
>BDs becoming less and less of the go to indicator of a show's success now? It hasn't been for like the past 10 years, only Sup Forums makes a big deal out of it.
Jace Jackson
Even the later volumes without ticket mostly sold better than Kabaneri V1.
Jordan Martinez
Next season the most promising sales-wise shows (out of the ones whose pre-orders are already up) are the ones with pre-existing fanbases which is normal every season. Rewrite (Key fanbase), Prisma (Prisma/Fate fanbase), Amanchu (Aria fanbase).
Charles Turner
So I don't understand. What are the other avenues for income the industry is exploring which isn't BD sales?
Christopher Wright
The ending
Jonathan Ramirez
>while Haifuri and Re:Zero will keep going. hahahahahaha, garbage will keep going. Good joke hipster.
Adrian Cook
But it has no legs. The past few episodes have completely failed to attract new buyers.
Dylan Johnson
There's kind of a trend of every commercially signifcant thing selling way worse than it's obvious predecessor this season. Funny thing is Japan considers Haifuri's predecessor Vivid Red Operation and not GuP or Kancolle. Guilty Crown->Kabaneri, Jojo P3-P4, Steins;Gate->ReZero and inevitably Macross Frontier->Macross Delta. This shits getting old and it's too obvious to anyone other than event ticket whores and hardcore moe otaku that it's just the same repackaged stuff. Even the event tickets aren't working like they used to considering they've kind of been devalued in that everything has them. The only thing that they still seem to work ridiculously well for are idol series.
Ian Edwards

>wishing bad sales on any other shows in an industry that barely stays afloat it's like you hate anime or something
William Cox
Love Live Sunshine is the one most people are betting on to easily clear 10K. It's entirely possible it gets 10K stalker pts in less than a week once it goes up. Really if all volumes don't instantly go to the top 10 the moment they go up I'd almost be surprised.
Luke Moore
Probably the hardest a show has crashed and burned in a single episode since I don't know when
Nicholas Roberts
Better than edge zero and walmart GuP for sure.
Cooper Hughes
Wrong. Streaming gives them peanuts and this is why they even started their own thing with Daisuki to counter CR. The ad revenue that comes with streaming is what you want. The license fees are abysal low.
Chase Flores
streaming, merchandise, pachinko, original source sales, music etc.
Matthew Gonzalez
>Next season the most promising sales-wise shows Nope just Love Live and that's gonna once again take up all the potential sellers like how GuP did this season. Nobody is going to give a shit about Mob Psycho 100 and D.Grayman Hollow. DAYS has a shot with the fujobucks if it becomes another FREE! Berserk is dead in the water.
Jaxon Lewis
Bakemonogatari did that already, but it's not like Destiny's even the top selling anyway.
Bentley King
Does this mean stalker threads are finally irrelevant?
Brody Ramirez
> edge zero This is a first. Coming from the idiot that is defending a literal train-wreck.
David Rivera
>he actually likes Kabaneri
Everybody laugh
Luke Long
>Streaming gives them peanuts Gonzo was literally resurrected from the dead due to all the revenue it received from its licenses through Netflix streaming
Wyatt Hernandez
It doesn't help that it's actually a high price item which is probably a lot of the reason it was so overestimated. It was priced just below the cutoff for the high price item modifier to kick in on stalker. High price items almost never do well outside of pre-orders. Might as well just take whatever it's second and third volumes estimates are and cut them down to about 60% as well.
Samuel Brown
Kabaneri is the epitome of cheap rip-offs. It doesn't deserve to sell a single disc.
Evan Baker
>Monogatari Destiny nearly made twice as much as Bakemonogatari.
Unit numbers don't mean shit. Plenty of anime like Nana priced their volumes at 5 dollars to get the numbers high but that means you get a lot less profit.
