What if Kyoani did Monogatari?

What if Kyoani did Monogatari?

forced animation out the anus

less crap dialogue for sure which is better

Pretty but inaccurate adaptation with filler episodes and filler characters.

It would actually make use of the medium.

As much as I like Kyoani this That and I'm pretty sure the fanservice would be horribly turned down unless it really is like that in the LN.

It'd almost be a completely different show

It would abandon all the good sides of animation as a medium that Shaft used, instead opting for a "heartfelt" and "cinematic" experience of the ironic and disjoint novels.

who is that semen demon?

It would actually be animated instead just powerpoint.

it'd be shit

but not because kyoani is shit (kyoani is the best studio of the '10s)

I don't know.

>shaft
>good sides of animation

There's more to animation than character animation

Araragi is a qt

>you don't make use of the medium unless you're doing lots of fluid animation constantly
Fuck off, Miyazaki.

Wouldn't feel the same

I agree

He goes on for several pages about Hanekawa's panties.

OPs pic looks cuter.

who are you quoting?

This is a masterclass

Instead of the head tilts there would probably be some weird focus in/out shit going on

KyoAnifags and Miyazakifags

...

Well, it definitely wouldn't have taken 6 years to make Kizu if KyoAni was in charge.

What is a forced animation. Isnt all animation forced. Is anything past the manga forced? Hell why even have the manga? The light novel has no forced animation to speak of.

What are you going on about

But how long would it take for all of the series 18 books to be adapted though?

Only Bake would have been adapted which would have been ok since it's the only good series.

Cute

And then have one more "buy the books for the rest of the story" adaptation.

Not to mention they might even just do bake book 1 and add filler until there are 13 episodes.

...

The only reason why their LNs had padding is because of a lack of material.
That wouldn't be a problem with Monogatari, naturally.

...

Didn't phantom world already had a second book? I remember comments about it since the start.

Yeah, but Kyoani sure as hell won't touch it

Not when production started.

...

Monogatari series is that good because SHAFT's touch. It would be just generic haremshit if it isn't animated by SHAFT.

to be fair haruhi has enough material for a whole cour

their adaptations aside from bake are garbage though

Then it might have actually been good.

If the author was already writing the novel, why didn't they have him work with the scriptwriter to follow the story line?

>If the author was already writing the novel
What if they started writing it after they were told it was gonna be adapted?

Kyoani

Accurate.

wew

My eyes hurt

Araragi would be even cuter, but somehow less sexy.

What's the problem? He will then have months to write a guideline for the second part of the series for the scriptwriter to use.

But the point is that Kyoani doesn't really bother with accuracy, and has no problem in making very significant changes to the plot and cast.

Sounds good to me.

>making very significant changes to the plot and cast

I didn't know light novels and manga had cast.

Sperging out doesn't make you an intellectual.

I meant obviously the cast of characters.

is monogatari self-aware?

extremely

Why would they?

-Minimal to no QUALITY
-Better, more consistent animation
-Little to no use of CGI or vector graphics
-Show, don't tell approach
-Less fanservice, loli fanservice out of the window all together
-2 or 3 original characters
-No head tilts
-No milking
-More yuri baiting

To follow the original author's story line?

why the hell would they do that

The point of the adaptation is to advertise the LN, and that would be hard if the viewers all had from the second novel's edgy grimdark furry fanfic shit.

>-Show, don't tell approach
I find that one hard to imagine.

>-Show, don't tell approach
>in a series that's all about the dialogue
No thanks.

>Show, don't tell approach

>implying
Plenty of Kyoani shows suffer from expository dialogues and monologues.

I bet they regret publishing it when the author sent in the second novel

>disgusting yuribaiting and incest yuribaiting
>irrelevant anime only characters
>irrelevant anime only story
>there would be no waifuwars since it's impossible to tell any of the female characters apart
>different VAs
>would get a new adaptation every 2 years
>everything from K-On forward would never be animated

> Shaft promise to adapt all the novels
> they actually do
> milking

It wouldn't be good.

Show, don't tell is a retarded meme anyway desu.

>3 kizu movies
there's a point where it gets ridiculous

Use a better image, every girl in the KyoAni and Ghibli collage is doing the same expression.

It's Aniplex's fault not Shaft

Just wait until Zaregoto gets adapted

That's the point. It's to shitpost.

Still, I'm very interested in Shaft doing the whole show don't tell thing in the Kizu movies.

Flat shaded everything with 90% of the detail per frame thrown into eye highlights, also forced animation like others have said.

Director confirmed yet?

Oh wow I never noticed that! Keen eye you have, friend.

>the truth is a shitpost
Interesting development we have here.

Not even studio

If KyoAni was in charge it never would have gotten that far.

That image isn't even using actual KyoAni drawings. The point whoever drew it was trying to make was lost.

I don't think Zaregoto will be that successful to warrant more than one season. There's no mainstream hype for Zaregoto anymore. It's been too long.

Thanks for proving my point.

it didn't take 6 years of development, Shaft worked on other things and then went back to it relatively recently

The only installment Bake was better than was Nise though

It's actually worse with Shaft's touch. They take conversations that take 5 minutes tops to read, cut content and characterization out and spreads the resulting conversation out over several episodes. Just listening to an audiobook version of the novels with a photo slideshow of random scenery porn pulled off of google would produce a better effect than the anime does. The Kizu movies are Shaft's first attempt at actually attempting to adapt it to the anime format properly.

KyoAni probably would do a better job of it to be honest.

Still less than SHAFT though

Nope

Pretty sure it's Shaft

>They take conversations that take 5 minutes tops to read, cut content and characterization out and spreads the resulting conversation out over several episodes.
Hold up, it's only okay when Shaft does this.

White Fox maybe.

Why is Shinobu so fucking sexy and perfect

Never doubt the power of Aniplex shilling.

>The only installment Bake was better than was Nise though
That's a nice hot take you got there

probably a little like this

>The only installment Bake was better than was Nise though

Bake was the only good series. It did a lot with basically no budget. The rest feels like a fucking gimmick in comparison.

Zaregoto is very edgy and confusing to be honest. I don't get what's so good about it.

Because she is literally the most beautiful woman in the world.

I wouldn't change Bake at all(Oishi a best), but if say Takemoto directed the rest of the series it would be a huge improvement.

I dropped Bakeshit halfway through but I have to agree with this, in Bake every background, every shot felt like it had a purpose. I've seen some scenes from later seasons and it feels like they're just re-using the gimmick without knowing why.

MC is good. And there is alpha version of Kissshot and Medaka.

How does the rest feel like a gimmick when after Nise it changes in tone and narrative focus entirely? bar a couple specific arcs where it goes back to a Bake-like formula, and all of those arcs pretty much do said formula better than Bake did?

All Bake has going for it are a handful of cherry-picked scenes that look visually nice. Nevermind all the "quality" the series also has even after Shaft's attempts to fix it with the BD releases.
