S1 was a pretty accurate representation of the novels. I'll argue that Burst is one of the best looking anime's that IMS has produced. Contrary to popular belief Burst did a decent job adapting the story of novels 4,5, and 7. Most of the ecchi scenes though were neutered versions of their novel counter parts.The novels are pretty much the way to go with this series though.

According to the author, the publishers along with IMS are proud of the anime. S1 sold well. Burst at the very least sold above average. There really isn't enough novel content to make an S3 right now, but it defintely isn't out of the realm of possibility considering it's still one of IMS' most successful series.

Higher initial sales is usually pretty standard. Secondly consider the genre, it's not going to be selling 10k+ in the first week regardless of how good it is because of the genre it's stuck in. Thirdly those numbers are pulling profit regardless, they're well above both the frt line and the breaking even line. It's not a top 10 best seller, I wont deny that but it still sold well enough. The second season didn't sell quite as well but it still shifted enough copies to keep the possibly of a 3rd season alive, especially with the LN sales being boosted on top of that along with any other merchandise sold.
