I don't live around the bay anymore, and even if I did there are aspects about it that are utter shit. I would love to be there when the shit hits the fan though, Newfoundland would literally be the best place to rebuild society, isolated and full of resources and hunting.

Newfoundland is absolutely perfect for all that. Comfy seaside villages, pubs, some of the best national parks and coastline in Canada for hiking, and it's economy is in the shitter so it's nice and cheap.
