As Baltra, who saw the premonition, says he'd like to take charge of Elizabeth,
Meliodas accepts under the condition that he be employed as a Holy Knight.
Zaratras suggests to try him out on a bout, and quickly got beaten (he kinda shat himself a bit too).

What Elizabeth last saw is the old promise that he'll come back alive from any place for sure.
