Retarded Scanlation Groups

Searching for new stuff to read, I've come by this group of retards, who would expect that moderator is a fujoshit landwhale.

What are some of the worst groups out there?

All scanlators are retarded.

Can someone explain to me how CGrascal has managed to keep translating for around 10 years and never improve his quality ever? It's amazing how shit his cleaning, typesetting and translating is.

I know, the group that scanlates Kimi Shi ni Tamou Koto Nakare are literally retarded.
Just read this, I've copy/pasted it from their site.

But, finally after I was able to complete it, can you imagine what the first couple posts over at the great Batoto were? Flaming posts. Of course. What is a release without a bitchfest? That’s cool. That’s fine. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion. What you’re not entitled to do is throw an bitchy, adolescent fit at the person who gave the free stuff away in the first place. Talk about misplaced aggression!

Here’s the thing: Any scanlation production is illegal unless it’s explicitly sanctioned by the copyright holder and/or publishing house. I have absolutely no permission to do so from anyone. Any of the aforementioned entities have every right to stop me at any time.

That being said, the next poignant issue is the cost it takes for any scanlator to do what they do. Here’s a break-down of the expenses involved:

1/2

2/2

Chapter 5 = 6 hours of work
Labor rate = $30/hour = $180 (time is money, after all!)
Big GanGan Book Purchase = $6
Monthly Photoshop Subscription = $50
(Translation knowledge = 12+ years Japanese studies = ???)
Subtotal = $236

Current number of views on drakengard-3.com = 48
$236×48 = $11,328

That is a huge amount that the copyright holder/publisher is out because of an unsanctioned use of their property. What do you, as the reader, pay to read?

NOTHING.

You.
Pay.
Nothing.

End of copy pasta

I'm more interestead in how Laruffi still

*isn't banned.

>Monthly Photoshop Subscription = $50

>pirating
Some people know no shame.

All that because people called him out for shitty editing and plastering watermarks on already shitty pages
>paying for software
Good goyim

Yeah what, I just do translations with some old pirated photoshop. And people on batoto have been pretty nice to me, I get messages saying thanks after new chapters too, even though my editing skills are basically zero.

Scanlators are the bottom of the barrel, and they have little incentive to disprove this notion.

I came across a group that says "We don't do IRC/DDLs because web readers are sufficient".

What are your opinions on this sort of statements?
Personally I think it's dumb because I like reading them offline.

I occasionally do edits for doujins and I use CS2 and it's fucking free. I don't see a reason to upgrade. I can clean, redraw and typeset perfectly. What the fuck is this guy on?

Basically all scanlation groups are made purely of egotistical drama queen bullshit.

Depends on your audience really.
There're plenty of people who'll never download and only read online.
If the reader is good (no downscales, pretechting images, dark background) then there is little incentive to people used to constant internet access to even think about offline storage.

More like, it's a huge group of people and most of them are casuals who don't care to learn the techniques the community has developed decades ago.

I got CS5 a couple years ago and have been just using that. Yeah I don't know, he's probably just looking to inflate numbers. Also anyone paying 30$/hour for a manga translation, yeah right.

I agree, because currently there are no good web readers.
>Batoto has shitty web reader, with minimal functions
>rest (kissmanga included) lowers resolution.
kek

Why would you pay for software you're going to use to do illegal things?

I think the resolution on batoto is pretty good. What more functions other than reading do you really need?

Sounds silly. If all readers get DMCA'd you lose your shit forever. Might as well release it to the masses and let archivefags and data hoarders do the backup.

>rest (kissmanga included) lowers resolution.
Do they?
Last I checked they don't.

They do.

Examples?

>rest (kissmanga included) lowers resolution.
Kissmanga's Arpeggio of Blue Steel, for example, is enormous. I'm not sure what you're on about except you're reading manga with poor sources.

His epeen is worth at least that much.

$50 monthly subscription for Photoshop?
Just for Photoshop? Seems more like for the entire CC, since there are ~$10 plans for Lightroom and Photoshop CC.

>learn japanese
>compare raws and translations
>some stuff is completely different or left out altogether

What's your excuse?

Try doing some translations and you'll see that no matter how close you're trying to stay, literal translations generally don't work well.

Or you can just download archive from scanlator and compare it to kissmanga release, kissmanga uses some shitty filter or something that reduces picture size (and quality)

Not so good at nip yet, the cognitive load is too much.

>$236
>only $6 is an actual expense that non-retarded people would pay
>multiplying cost to produce by consumers for no reason
What point is this supposed to be making?

Rapeman is pretty based.

Hox is great too, wonder what he's doing now.

>poor sources
I download releases from scanlator, if there are no archives to download, I use batoto and if it's not on batoto, I use madokami.

Depends on the series. They just rip from someone else. If you're lucky they rip from someone without it turning to shit first.

...

I can give you retarded torrent sites.

Take baka, they compare themselves to credit card companies

That's what I'm thinking. They don't so much downscale as they just keep whatever is uploaded.

I'd first have to verify that it's from the same source and everything. If you've already done that (which I assume because you're so sure), then why don't you share the example with which you've found out about it.

>using batoto
Someone should DDoS them, they remove series like Nana to Kaoru and similar in favor of hard-yaoi where there are scenes of explicit sex.
It's confirmed that more than half of their mods are landwhales similar to OP's pic

>I download releases from scanlator,
That doesn't mean the sources are good. 95% of all scanlators are retarded.

>Labor rate = $30/hour
Nigger please, they're college students that are barely able to translate, more like €5/hour.
In what world do you live?

But you don't even need to register to download from bakabt. I haven't even used it for years though, there's nothing on that shitty site.

They used to be good, a few years ago. Well, they were assholes with a good product.
Then everything went stupid.

Batoto removes licensed manga because they're scared of copyright monsters. And nana to kaoru is licensed in Europe.

Sure, let me get my research papers on those topic. Or how about you fuck yourself and download random release from random scanlator and do comparing yourself.
Do your parents still spoonfeed you?
I doubt that uploading same release to any web reader will magically improve said releases

>I doubt that uploading same release to any web reader will magically improve said releases
Follow the quote chain you moron.

>licensed in Europe
Weren't last few Berserk releases out on Batoto? And Berserk is licensed literally everywhere

Now? He still posts.

>Labor rate = $30/hour

What the fuck?

>Or how about you fuck yourself and download random release from random scanlator
But here is the thing, I can't tell if it's a magazine scan or a tank scan and there is no info on who did it either.
The only way to verify it's the same release is by meticulously checking if the typesetting is the same or if the cleaning looks identical.

New chapters can slip through sometimes, but the whole system is pretty weird on batoto and most translators just don't upload the series anymore if chapters get removed.

>Follow the quote chain you moron.
I didn't knew that scanlators are poor sources. If that is true then chapters on web readers are shit since 90% of them reduce quality.

>I didn't knew that scanlators are poor sources.
*Many* scanlators are poor sources.
>If that is true then chapters on web readers are shit since 90% of them reduce quality.
Yes, welcome to 20 minutes ago.

>meticulously checking
Holy fuck, how retarded are you?
Just dowload some release from scanlator, see filesize on random page and compare it to same page on kissmanga (ofc you download it first).

They also remove shit they consider "distasteful".

>see filesize on random page and compare it to same page on kissmanga
But that doesn't prove anything if it's different releases you moron.

>there's nothing on that shitty site.
Actually everything is on there, what are you on?

There is an entire wiki with stuff you are not supposed to upload to bbt.

Haven't heard of that happening but I don't really delve into the forums or anything nor do I read borderline porn.
