You can simply do much more with the grim dark future where wars are fought over practically every little thing than with "magic and shit".

Just stop. Objects are custom made to ensure the pilot is always comfortable, with AC, a minifridge stocked with food, and other luxuries. Having it made hotter than normal defeats the whole point of making an Object a secondary home for the pilots, never mind the fact that we've seen Hime act completely normal outside of her Object. If pilots prefer heat and pressure, Hime would be covering herself with a coat up at every possible moment.
