I doubt that's the case. We know that he shot at the rent a cop security guard that knocked on the door so he likely realized that he would have only a few minutes before swat stormed into the room and choose to off him self rather than face the consequences for his cowardly actions.

But there's literally nothing about this shooting that makes sense, it reeks of false flagging.
If someone was hit by glass falling or even witnessed glass hitting the ground they would have called the cops, this would be the start of the timeline.
I don't buy it the guy was a whale and he spent a crap ton of money at that casino so they likely would have over looked it because of who he was.
Also considering he was there for several days before the shooting it is entirely possible that he made trips over multiple days to pick up the bags.
We also have to consider that he was a regular there and drove down to Las Vegas often so that is why there wont be any car rental or plane ticket records.
