A pet cherishes you just like you enjoy its company. A pet loves you, no matter what you did, a pet would never bite you. Even if you kicked a pet in the ribs it would only look at you confused as to why you would do that, but it wouldn't fight back. Golden retrievers and mutts make for good pets. Some birds make for good pets.
A Pitbull is a great guard dog. They're vicious, strong and territorial. If you let a pit bull play with your children, I'll call it "natural selection" when it bites their face off. But they can and will fuck up any intruder to your house, even if you don't train the fucker to do it.

It's also why some people were able to kept pits through all their life, they were lucky that those times where the dog becomes savage happened at the right time where nobody got hurt
