I don't know what to tell you. People have changed their minds about Hanekawa. The strange thing is they said she was plain in Bake and never really paid attention until reading Kizu and both Nekos. It put a lot of everything about her into perspective.
She was always a good character, but didn't work for people who needed a character to have a quirky gimmick. Nor was she the sociopath some viewed her as. Her personality didn't even change that much from accepting herself, you just now see it from all sides.

She has an interesting story, but it's never delivered in a really interesting way because she's a stick-in-the-mud. Meanwhile, plenty of other characters have interesting stories, are endearing, and are good conversationalists. So it's no wonder that so many people dislike Hanekawa compared to other characters.
