Have some armor
>If the adventurers don't like the guild they could just go directly to the clients
So it's a Union.
In a fantasy setting like this, it would be more economical for there to simply be a bulletin board around town with contact information.
The Guild is merely an escrow service that acts as a third party to determine contract completion between both parties.
So why make the system so complicated? Obviously, because there's more to it than that. Trade unions form a body of manpower that can be acted upon in times of emergencies (strikes, large contracts), and also formalize training and certification (apprenticeship, journeymans, etc.)
If a Guild is not a really shittily organized trade union, then what the fuck is it?
>another thread
This manga is complete shit. Let it die before it turns into a cancerous forced maymay
A complete clusterfuck designed to cull off mankind's defenses.
Goblin did nothing wrong
An incompetent contracting service that shaves a percentage off of bounties?
A middle-man service who gets a ton of free cash by taking a percentage of earnings for doing almost nothing?
Reminder: Guild did nothing wrong.
Adventurers are free to take whatever quest they like to move up in the ranks and obtain fame even if they cannot handle it.
Bite off more than you can chew, you eat nothing, but shit.
>For fucks sake the guild told them they were biting more than they could swallow. They were warned. The guild lady told them they should take another job.
No it was suggested that they wait for another adventurer to show up. It wasn't stated that they would actually be in any danger if we're going off of what the manga says. Then she just stands there silently as they leave.
>You can't argue with those kinds of people. They believe that there should be a large powerful organization that forces everyone to be happy and safe.
You can't argue with these kinds of people, they think that logical decision making is a part of some liberal conspiracy theory.
...
>linking to past thread
You are literally cancer.
Because the Guild can actually gather all the freelancers in one spot. Because they can manage the contract they accept and make sure it is not fraud. Because they make the clients cough up their own lungs if they don't pay. Because the Guild can make sure the freelancers doesn't receive anything until the job is done. They protect both side
The guild manage their own sides. The adventurers do their own work
Also guild takes your money.
all hail guild girl
...
She clearly wanted to stop them from going on the quest but the guild itself must have rules that prevent her from denying anyone to take on these deeds. She's only following orders from her superiors.
>It wasn't stated that they would actually be in any danger if we're going off of what the manga says
Protip: Adventuring being dangerous is a given
>NO SHE SHOULD HAVE STOPPED THEM BECAUSE IT'S THE ONLY HUMANE THING TO DO BECAUSE ETHICS AND MUH LOGIC
that is the definition of an escrow service, fampai
>She's only following orders from her superiors.

Come on nigga
Thats why the client can't just post up a billboard and the job get done.
>You're all adventurers of the lowest rank
>Please wait until someone capable shows up and takes the quest

Killing goblins with.
And in the first place, I am not advocating that fantasies should have billboards and escrow services.
If you actually bother to read the post, it goes into detail explaining that a Guild is more than just an escrow service, and it matches the modern description of a Trade Union, albeit a more shittily organized one.
It goes on to imply that Trade Unions have all power to employ (or not employ) their licensed contractors. Which is what this, and the previous thread, is about.
She literally told their faggot asses to wait, before Fighter say "WE ADVENTURERS AND CAN KILL SIMPLE GOBLINS N' SHIT".
Guild and Guild Girl did nothing wrong.
lunch break.
Pump and dump
Why the fuck didn't they just send a chopper over again, since that's exactly what happened once blue showed up?
It would be less economical for the Guild to manage their contractors. Small, unreliable payback with huge investment. It is nonsense from an economical standpoint
Elvish, and medieval currencies in general, are known for their stability due to their metal composition.
It makes no sense to pump and dump Elvish currency.
Honestly Goblin killing is nothing great really, the warrior and others probably would have been able to take care of normal goblins,
the hobgoblin and the shaman were the problem.
But no one knew that those live in the caves.
The point is there was not enough information and the whatever metal quest was actually of a higher rank.
It was simply bad luck.
- The guild should research more blalba
- The guild should school them blabla
Fuck no, next you want that the guild rewards them with lollipops or something.
It was bad luck and what looks like overconfidence.
>not scouting
Sauce?
But they do manage their contractors. Clearly each Guild has an accounting system that keeps track of commissions and ranking.
If they can do that, why wouldn't they be able to prevent people from taking commissions for their own safety?
She told them to wait because their ranks weren't enough. And if you're gonna be out killing/adventuring there's always danger, that doesn't need to spelt out to you.
The dragon was in a foreign country and the JSDF couldn't mobilize a large scale offensive without violating treaties.
That being said, MC gave a bunch of Dark Elves rocket launchers but they had maybe 5 minutes of training with them. So once the dragon showed up they all either panicked, one killed his friend with backblast, and the rest were eaten before dragon loli showed up. MC did manage to get some C4 into Blue's mouth though so they did kill it.
>Fuck no, next you want that the guild rewards them with lollipops or something.
Do people really believe that anyone in either thread wants to treat adults like children?
Intel and communication IS the exact purpose of guilds
>If they can do that, why wouldn't they be able to prevent people from taking commissions for their own safety?
Because they don't have a reason to.
GATE.
Probably season 2.
Gate.
>this thread
>Because the Guild can actually gather all the freelancers in one spot
You can achieve the same result at a bar or public notice board in the city.
An adventure strong enough to do what the client was unable to do and thusly had to request is probably stronger than the motherfucking trying to not pay what he owes.
If the guild isn't providing some sort of additional services then there really isn't much of a reason for them to exist.
>The dragon was in a foreign country and the JSDF couldn't mobilize a large scale offensive without violating treaties.
Bullshit, that's exactly how they got rid of Hardy's Apostle and her two dragons, choppers came in.
Probably because it's considered a fundamental right of adventurers to take dangerous missions possibly beyond their own abilities.
It's not like the guild can surefire predict it, they almost made it and might've been able to do fine if they'd taken the correct precautions and didn't go full retard.
>healer isn't working
>NAH LET'S KEEP GOING
It's like a level 5 party taking a level 6.5 quest, risky but it's not impossible and certainly doesn't have to end in a TPK.
So did the mage died? Something awoken in me when the goblin stabbed and then rape her.
>Bullshit, that's exactly how they got rid of Hardy's Apostle and her two dragons, choppers came in
That was the official reason at the beginning. They changed there mind and I remember it had something to do with them negotiating something with the injured king that's on the base.
She was poisoned by literal shit and could only muster the strength to let out a barely audible "kill me". Goburin slayer obliged.
Ebin
Training rocket launchers? Nah, there is nothing to train. they are dumbs.
Yeah. Years of future profits down the drain while creating the public perception that the guild is too incompetent to pay a premium for definitely isn't a reason.
Soul of the mind, key to life's ether
Guilds are bounty offices and if you want your bounty to be completed you would go to a place that specializes in it rather than post it up at some random pub board. This is probably the purpose of their creation in this neo-union world.
Didnt you read the chapter?
The mage was poisoned, no antidote and Goblin Slayer gives her a mercy kill
Sadness rises.
Why do good people need to die in stories ;_;
Why do qts need to die in stories ;-;
The whole point of adventurers is that they're essentially mercenaries. Who the fuck tells mercenaries "no you're not going to be allowed to participate in this battle because it's too dangerous"?
are we really going to have a general about a manga with 1 chapter out
Two chapters.
literally anyone that doesn't want to waste money on shit mercs
Not all of us can be Hedley Lamarr.
why not?
Doesn't have to be completely random. Just has to be the local frequented by adventurers looking for employment area that functions as a central gathering place which you can find via asking the locals. Finding it would be about as hard as asking where the adventurers guild is.
Anyone interested in hiring competent mercenaries that can actually finish the job?
>wasting money
>implying
If they die they don't get paid.
Two shocking chapters.
This is a Goblin Slayer / Fantasy General now for Sup Forums.
Rape.
Time is money. Now you have to find a new batch of mercenaries while you wasted yours with an incompetent group and reduced your chances of long term success via arming the enemy, giving them xp, and generously donated new breeding factories so that the next group has 40 more gobs to deal with.
are there any elves left at all? It seems like the flame dragon killed the wood elves and most of the dark elves.
Titties.
>Dem eyes
He's a woman, isn't he?
>He made the enemy stronger
>The bounty goes up in price.
You're acting like this a bad thing, user. Guild and the Adventurers who complete the quest get more money this way.
does someone want to post chapter 2 or will you get banned?
I dunno man
Anyway why were we arguing about realism in this manga? It's obviously not complete bullshit in its approach but I imagine the whole idea of the guild and adventurers follows RPG tropes pretty much to the letter.
No. Goblin Slayer is a male.
NO
REMOVE
MASK
BAD
>generously donated new breeding factories
Why do girls STILL go on missions against orcs and gobs?
When the fuck will they learn?
>tfw goblin slayer is guild desk lady
>. It wasn't stated that they would actually be in any danger
Fighting to the death is inherently dangerous. Don't be retarded.
> they think that logical decision making is a part of some liberal conspiracy theory.
This has nothing to do with logic. It's an argument about where people feel responsibility falls: the group, or the individual.
Except why would the clients bother with the incompetent guild that fails at everything daily and causes the problem to have hilariously bloated expenses?
Making the problem worse and more expensive signals to the clients to not bother with the guild.
why does goblin slayer talk so fucking much? he's like a teenage girl on the cell phone

ABU HAJAAR, WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU!?
Girls should carry a Detonate tag on themselves at all time so they don't have to suffer.
Evidence?
I'm seeing some Dem Eyes, Dem Hips, and maybe even a bit of Dat Ass. In addition, I see no cod piece and he has small feet.
> It's an argument about where people feel responsibility falls: the group, or the individual.
Not really. It can be both.
It's more about if the group as a whole also bears the burden of responsibility when there is a blatant problem that they do nothing about which can also allow the individual to be more responsible.
...
That's like saying that the US gets paid higher if they armed the terrorists with nukes.
Bounties come from the money of the people. Money that could have been used for better farmlands and fisheries, fucker
are there no raws for this?
I thought that jew nose was his dick for a moment.
Then what? The overweight nobles try to fight the goblins themselves? I imagine the Guild and Adventurers in general have a near-monopoly on the the whole monster-killing business. If you don't hire an adventurer to do it, you either have to go kill those monsters yourselves, try to hire personal adventurers (which somewhat defeats the purpose) or spend a decade raising and training adventurers of your own.
>That's like saying that the US gets paid higher if they armed the terrorists with nukes.
Well, military production and research companies do, and the guild doesn't seem to be a public enterprise.
>blatant problem
You see people having the power to act under their own agency as a problem? They were told they should wait. They did not.
>which can also allow the individual to be more responsible.
What?
>Implying nobles don't have loyal knights.
Died in a random cave, killed by goblin shit, gurgling on her own blood while the little monsters defiled her helpless body. That's hawt as all hell mayne.
>Well, military production and research companies do
Fuck you.
That's not how economy peacekeeping works.
GDP decreases the more conflicts the country faces because the taxes and manpower falls unto weaponries and cannon fodder instead of economical market service
It's not like the guild didn't warn them, it's more that they didn't explicitly bar them. It's a matter of where the duty of the law to allow adventurers the freedom to engage their targets as they please stops and where the duty of the law to prevent meaningless deaths begins.
Personally I think if they were fighting archwraiths or something, the guild would prohibit them from taking the quest because that's fucking insane you have 0 chance. The goblins weren't guaranteed death to them, it was just risky odds.
"standing army"
Guilds are for lawless mercenary fucks that can't do anything unless they feel the wind in their hair. Literally only for tasks that are too menial to waste your army on.
>GDP
GDP isn't a good measure of economic success. The guy that developed it was put off by how it ended up being used.
