a bumpstock will reset the trigger allowing you to pull it again. it doesn't pull that trigger again all by itself. You have to pull the upper forward. If you are too stupid to know that just shut the fuck up.

It doesn't work that way bud. The law defines a machine gun as a weapon that will fire more than 1 rd per function of the trigger. Even with a bump fire stock, you can hold the trigger down and the gun will not fire more than one rd until the trigger is released and depressed again. The atf had determined that any mechanical/ electrical assistance used to pull the trigger ie shoe string m1a, the recoil return spring in the ruger 10/22 atkins accelerator stock, or most recently the "auto glove" is a machine gun, but since there is no assistance device in the bump fire stock, it is completely legal under the definition of the law.
The atkins stock was very similar to the current bump stocks, but because it used a spring to automatically return the gun to the shooter's finger, it was deemed a machine gun. The bump stock requires constant forward force be applied by the shooter to function.

Moron. All fully automeatic weapons are regulated through the 1933 National Firearms Act that requires to register and request permission to buy and full auto weapon made before 1986 from the government. All full auto weapons made after 1986 are specifically banned for civilian ownership by law.
According to this even using a staple is not illegal technically because only one round is fired on the pull but another on the reset.
