Spanish police brutality on Catalonia

Ok lads, put aside the politics for a minute, was the violence really justified? Couldn't the Spanish government just have said "ok, do your illegal vote, we don't care and it is illegal anyway"? It would have been a lot cheaper and less brutal this way.

tbqh the more government violence shown from this the better, especially since Spain has very restrictive gun control.

I hope they blast this violence far and wide and I hope it escalates simply as a warning to those who want to remove our god given right to protect ourselves from it.

Last I checked, 90% of countries in these world emerged from revolutions or armed actions. Germany is an exception as a lot of countries joined together voluntarily, but pretty much everyone else ended up separating from other countries and either built their own country (most of Eastern Europe, Norway, Finland, Greece, the US, most of Africa) or joined together to build some other country (Italy, the UK, France) etc.

The Spanish government and like 99% of Spain hates Catalunya, so of course they'd try to take a beating at us the moment the opportunity popped up for them.
