Check the first weeks' stalker threads, it was almost constantly in top 100-150 while Flying Witch was around top 300-400 at that moment.

The fact that the industry practically has to bribe and bait people with crazy benefits packages and event tickets to manage what mid tiers shows from the late 2000's and early 2010's could manage on their own just makes it look like a sad pathetic waste of resources.

He's right there is no number anymore just -----. Stalker stops counting pts the day before street date and eventually delists things from the overall ranking a week or so after release. 10K "incoming" is far from guaranteed. It's very unlikely it's adding 1.5K next week though not entirely impossible. Really depends on storefront stock cause that kind of Amazon ranking doesn't get anything to 1.5K alone. You don't have to get clever to point out that it was a really bad season for Okada and after so many high profile triple digit flops when Nagai isn't around in recent years she's clearly the common link. I expect no less than 12 projects to be assigned to her with heavy billing of her name in 2017 as her reward.

No actually there's no goal post moving, we're still talking 10K and how and when it might get there. If anything it's not overreaching and not just saying crazy shit that can't be proven. I don't have any sort of stake here so I don't care either way. The show will want nearly quadruple it's haul from this week to get there, somehow I don't see that happening unless storefront got a massive restock and/or Amazon surges over the coming week. Barring that it's option is the slow and steady crawl in which case by the time that would happen I would imagine shitposters would have long since stopped giving a damn and moved on to the next thing.

TL;DR Stop acting like there's something at stake here to be won. Calm your shit and look at numbers and trends and what they reflect.

See the thing with him is he just comes across like some kind of 15 year old well meaning idiot with the kind of taste you'd expect from that age group that stumbled into a job. Hope Chapman is more borderline sinister and of the say crazy sensationalist shit and somehow make the article end up being about her and some sort of cultural triumph she feels she's made in the process of watching Asian cartoons and fight childishly with and play the victim with posters in threads when she gets the expected push back. Both write the most extreme reviews and with a style of prose as if their target audience is pre-schoolers, just Nick Creamer is more of the give everything 5/5 and be insanely positive type while Hope is more just plain insane. I feel like the former would fit in all too well with MAL and the latter would make a top tier Sup Forums shitposter.

What strikes me as curious and kind of a throwback novelty about how that show has been planned out aside from the whole 25 episode straight adaptation thing is how it actually seems to have been planned out like a proper show that has it's appropriate crescendos and spikes in tensions in arcs and where you get to actually know and give a shit about the cast in-between all that as opposed to just 12 episodes of thoroughly annoying as shit characters and everything truly relevant just worked into the first couple and last couple episodes. The whole approach to the adaptation just seems to feel like....I don't know, they kind of give a shit or something? Old School? Nostalgic? Just not used to seeing that sort of approach lately, particularly out of light novel adaptations but then again most of those nowadays are just done by Soulless A-1 Pictures completely phoning it in and/or poor studios doing battle harem so what can you expect
