Anyone else feel like relatively speaking the world is actually the best it's ever been more or less? I mean we'll always have idiots in society and violence and such, but overall doesn't it seem like we're living better than ever in human history? Food is safer than it's ever been, militaries are smaller and more efficient, the ability to travel has never been easier or more affordable, and we have a 24/7 access to virtually any kind of entertainment you could want in the form of the internet.

I dunno, just feel like with how shit stuff has been lately in the news we need to take a step back and appreciate how well we've done overall as a species.

Don't you see those of us trying to just be rational? I wish humanity could be happy, knowing western civilization has produced for them this incredible gem of societies but there must always be more.

But all you can do is control yourself, be rational, dont fall into the hysteria of the masses, that deep pit of self-loathing despair. One voice of calm can dampen the tumultuous seas. Be strong, if not for yourself, for the rest of us. We need you.

I make $18-23/hr farming gold in world of Warcraft.

Yea things are basically as easy as ever.

Fuck thats a sweet gig, how do you do it?

And this will all be gone when muzzies take over.

>the best it's ever been more or less
We could all die in a nuclear war at any time, I don't think I would say that.

Woah. sorry irrelevant but i bought that album a good while ago and never looked at it close enough to see the illusion i guess?

Anyway, I mostly agree but there will always be some of us that strive on conflict.

There is more to life than its material side. It truly shows that we only focus on science and technology. We have essentially forgot every "social technology". During these last 100 years, the only relevant thing humanity has found is that moderate free trade tends to prevent wars. About the rest, we dumped it in the trash can of history.

what the fuck is up with this image
it's freaking me out

thanks white people

>that picture

It's a double edged sword. The world is safer and easier than its ever been, but is that actually a good thing?

Generally speaking we have regressed as a species from our ancestors. I remember going into the Vatican and looking at all these statues and paintings. Touring all over Italy, Switzerland, Hermany, Briatain, seeing tens of thousands of artists represented in all these churches and museums, these men who worked tirelessly at their craft. It consumed them and God flowed through them. But then it dawned on me not a single artist on earth could do anything like they did now. Not even CLOSE. And the world population is substantially bigger. People are more stupid than ever and the technological 'progress' you have described is the root cause of it. People think they know everything just by reading about it but that which they think they know is very superficial. Not to mention the rampant revisionist history going on where we have people actively trying to erase history.

The internet has killed humanity. I don't think it's that great a time to be alive. I will grant you that yes there have always been stupid people. There is nothing new under the sun. But technology has been their golden oppurtunify to let their satanist ideologies flourish.

music is trash now to. Don't even get me started on the musicians of today compared to the geniuses of the past

Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. More people equals more possibilities and more brains understanding different perspectives. I think we're likely to see more of a push from reformists in the future similar to the Reformations of European Christian faiths which saw Protestant and other Christian heresies replace the Catholic doctrines. The Wahhabist ultra-conservative doctrine of Saudi Arabia is showing more and more cracks each year, and even Iran is kind of getting a bit tired of being so militant because money is nicer than dead citizens.

I'll take instant annihilation over disease, being shot, slow starvation, or living through losing loved ones.

>as a species

Care to share?

Basically technology has made people all talk and no action. People are afraid to act anymore because computers do it for them. So it terrifies them when they meet someone who is 'real' with them and doesn't talk much and just works and goes about their business. Knowing a lot about painters or music or science doesn't make you an expert. It actually makes you a fraud. You learn about those things by being consumed by them. You learn about painting by trying to paint. You learn about symphonic composition by trying to compose a symphony.

Everything is ass backwards now and we say 'experts' are the art critics and not the artists. The experts on climate change are the politicians who cherry pick their scientific studies to suit their agenda. And fund scientists who can get results that are practical in terms of their desired result, instead of what science is really about which is finding the truth, because all science claims to be at the end of the day, all ANY science claims to be at the end of the day are a series of inferences based on observed facts. All climate change science is absurdly hypothetical and makes many assumptions and guesses.

Now the experts have become the people who analyze and not those who do. And if those who do he tit wrong we ignore their errors (like the catastrophe socialism, communism, and fascism caused). These people have had it all their own way for the last 70 years and it has killed humanity.

> I remember going into the Vatican and looking at all these statues and paintings. Touring all over Italy, Switzerland, Hermany, Briatain, seeing tens of thousands of artists represented in all these churches and museums, these men who worked tirelessly at their craft.
To a Chinese person that would seem like modern art. Of course that kind of thing is amazing to our western aesthetics because it's so institutionalized in the western art community that the renaissance is the absolute best in terms of art and style (even though really it was an unapologetic fetish for Greek and Roman styling and emulating them). Never mind the beautiful classical pornography Japan was making at the time or the unbelievable art of the ancient Olmecs. If it ain't European, IT'S CRAHP!

>not a single artist on earth could do anything like they did now. Not even CLOSE.
You really need to just look harder. Also it seems to me that classical non weird art has become what are called "illustrations", so that kind of art is still around. And there are so many good musicians alive today that would make the likes of Beethoven and Paganini impressed. youtube.com/watch?v=Yw74sDWPH7U

If you're talking about Islam reformation, that's already happened more or less in the USA and their are already 'denominations' of Islam if you will scattered throughout the Middle East

All the 'good' things of Islam are a Christian oversimplification vastly inferior to the thing simplified. And that's leaving out all the fascism, sexism, pedophilia, multiple wives, war-mongering to spread religion, and 'muh religion is a government' bull-shit.

>And the world population is substantially bigger. People are more stupid than ever and the technological 'progress' you have described is the root cause of it.
I think we've always been this stupid or possibly worse since there's so much in place today specifically to stop idiots form hurting themselves. We just have 24/7 coverage in the form of tabloid news, internet blogs, and social media to document it consistently. Before you could turn off the TV or throw out a newspaper and move on. But today? It's like a phantom in the air.

> People think they know everything just by reading about it but that which they think they know is very superficial.
This isn't wrong to an extent though. Academics can't always be experienced first hand for the sake of practicality. Sometimes you really do just have to go by a fact you've read and assume it's true until proven otherwise.

>Not to mention the rampant revisionist history going on where we have people actively trying to erase history.
Read up on Ancient Egyptians or Stalin. Trying to rewrite history for political purposes is as old as the exhistance of politics itself. Also the great thing about history is that there is always a pure truth to it. You can't deny or question like you would a scientific theory what happened. There's no hypothesis or guess work when you know the exact events that happened based on empirical research. So whatever people try to cover up, the truth will come to light eventually. Look at how we know about Hatshepsut or the people Stalin tryed to erase from history. Didn't do a good job did they? And those were heads of states with all the power of an entire country at their disposal.

not that user but
top end guilds are run like small/medium sized businesses and sell boss kills essentially.

>Anyone else feel like relatively speaking the world is actually the best it's ever been more or less?
No.
>doesn't it seem like we're living better than ever in human history?
No.
> Food is safer than it's ever been
And?
> militaries are smaller and more efficient
Are you pretending that is a good thing?
> the ability to travel has never been easier or more affordable
So?
>and we have a 24/7 access to virtually any kind of entertainment you could want in the form of the internet.
Do you SERIOUSLY believe that to be a good thing?

>The internet has killed humanity.
Yes but in a Nietzsche-esque "God is dead" notion. Our morals have reached a sort of zeitgeist now that the ugly side of humanity is available to us 24/7. Humanity as we used to know it will change because of this, but then the same thing happened too during the advent of the printing press. Hell, Socrates at one point argued that society was losing it's passion from the invention of WRITTING because spoken language was the only true way to pass on knowledge. This has been disproved easily though.

>But technology has been their golden oppurtunify to let their satanist ideologies flourish.
Satanism is just objectivism designed to scare away Christfags who think the devil is a big boogeyman. It's supposed to challenge western religious instituional morale.

Anton LaVey, who has been referred to as "The Father of Satanism", synthesized his religion through the establishment of the Church of Satan in 1966 and the publication of The Satanic Bible in 1969. LaVey's teachings promoted “indulgence”, “vital existence”, “undefiled wisdom”, “kindness to those who deserve it”, “responsibility to the responsible” and an "eye for an eye" code of ethics, while shunning "abstinence" based on guilt, "spirituality", "unconditional love", "pacifism", "equality", "herd mentality" and "scapegoating".

That's practically the guidebook for Sup Forums

Unless you're talking about the neo-pagan goofs who think they're super hard-core sacrificing a chicken to the dark lord or something goofy.

thats a album cover from the band animal collective, now tell the op to fuck off to Sup Forums :)

Buy and read "The Better Angels of our Nature" by Steven Pinker.

Or make a throw away email and ill send you the audiobook

>No fun allowed German

Why am I not surprised?

No. Never been worse, violence, paedophiles promoting mutilating children to create catamites openly, abortion industry rampant, divorce rampant, property being thrown over to corporate/bank and state/banks wholesale, incessant attacks on Christianity. Drug use rampant, endless war, death of journalism, knowledge and heritage because of millennials. Ever decreasing personal freedoms of expression and property. Marxism in a mask everywhere, the mask of environmentalism, death of academia . I fucking hate it. Burn it down.

t.GenX

The economy is the best it has ever been, if that's what you mean.
The environment is on the brink of collapse and will take our entire species along with it if we don't stop climate change.

I agree. Sure, we have our problems, but they are somewhat petty compared to the problems of our ancestors.

We have clean water, access to food and proper nutrition, antibiotics, indoor plumbing, a vast amount of knowledge, and a world of options for lifestyle choices. People are limited largely by their imaginations and by victims of circumstance.

Yes, we have issues with people in power utilizing every means at their disposal to stay in power and keep the masses under control. Guess who else had that problem? Every fucking person who lived in a civilized country. Sorry kids; no free lunch. If you want to live a good life, get out and live it. There's really nothing stopping you.

What is DEBT which has never been greater. Never at a national or individual level.

Not to mention that at any second nuclear war could break out, also destroying humanity and the environment.
The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

You mean the water rising a couple feet and destroying the value of millionaire vacation homes?

Yeah, it's a fucking crisis. Can't have that.

The nuclear bomb should win the Nobel Peace prize. It's the only thing which has stopped the great nations going into an all our ground war.

Travel is impossible here, where are you bro?

I feel like we're about to reach true individual liberty in a decade or so

The MSM has a profit incentive to keep people angry and divided which keeps them tuned in to see what they should be outraged about next and what side is winning.

The Press used to be a cornerstone of freedom, now it's the enemy.

This is the moment in time where we are on the brink of complete all out civil war in every western country, the tipping point on immigration destroying our lands and inflation is growing by 1%+ a year, almost every country can't pay the interest on their debts to the satanist kike cabal and wages aren't growing in line with prices because of it.

We are not in a bad state right now, we are on the precipice, world government and economic slavery lies below

>We have clean water, access to food and proper nutrition, antibiotics, indoor plumbing,

clean water
increased monitisation of waterresources along with increased pollution of supply from flint to limerick in Ireland worldwide water is now a unit of sale and full of contaminates as people race to make water the new oil

access to food and proper nutrition
Our food is poison and riddle with chemical residues and over processed crap and waste by product like pink slime.

Antibiotics
Are on the verge of failure what is msra

a vast amount of knowledge
We lie in an age of collective mass ignorance fronted by millennial's who thing searching on google is knowledge as a consequence lies echo forever and go unchallenged the utterly ignorant shout the loudest and academia is dying.

lifestyle choices? We applaud self mutilation and killing unborn children?

People are limited largely by their imaginations?

People are increasingly limited by the millennial generation which is both distilled incompetence and collectivism, the generation that destroyed humanity in sacrifice to its own narcissism

This. Without nukes we'd have had a ground war that would make both World Wars combined look like a flintlock musket skirmish at 500 yards.

The economy right now is excellent. Debt doesn't really matter because it isn't a real, tangible thing with limitations. It's just a concept. And as long as people continue paying into that concept, it will continue growing with no real downside. Debt based economies are not the same as resource based economies.

>no real downside
just wait

I do think the world is the best it's ever been. I think today is the best time to be alive. Yet I worry for a world that has not learned its lessons from socialism, and I worry as well for a world where ecologists are considered truthtellers for soothsaying a doomed future. They give us this message, and yet we do not see in them any of the strength and will to power commensurate to the risk they say we are in. If they truly believed in their own ideas and truly deserved their media-sanctified reputation for truth, should they not be trying to stomp on the world in order to save it?

Life is so amzingly grand that people can't even comprehend the natural state.

You are supposed to almost starve many times over your life and eventually get eaten

The poorest American lives in luxury kings of old could not even dream.

nice try

You're mostly insulting people's individual choices. There are plenty of foods riddled with residue and worthless information floating around. If the masses wish to partake in the bread and circuses, that's hardly novel or even a real issue. You have other options. Water is cheap and easily filtered. Lifestyle choices refer to a wealth of first world countries, not MSM talking points and distraction issues.

As for the bit about the millennial generation; you're only limited by their incompetence and collectivism if you choose to join in with them.

Compare this all to the majority of human history where people regularly died en masse from famine and disease. Where the majority of people didn't have access to healthcare and the care that did exist was often massively flawed. Where most people could not even read and write much less go to school.

Yes, the rich still have a monopoly on all of these basic and most precious resources. You won't get the diet nor the education they get. But you will get better than your ancestors got.

The food and water are generally polluted crap. And expensive too now. So no.

No. Things have been on a steady decline for the last 30 years, give or take. Don't let technology and gadgets fool you.

The whole whitey rayciss, Nazi omg, fucking niggers, shitskin terrorist attacks is all a psyop. Yes that stuff happens but it's so minor it might as well not count. The elites want to eliminate most of the world population but can't unless we actively fight each other. To do that they must sew discontent amongst us. Think about it, 20 years ago none of these things were issues. Now they're played up, hyped, regurgitated and parroted back by non critically thinking NPCs. We must realize who the actual enemy is or we will consume ourselves in the flames we stoke today.

>Russian Federation
>when the muzzies take over

You're gonna be fine, friendo.

Yes, we will all live together in harmony if we just get rid of the "elites"
Nevermind that humans have been at each other's throats for any reason imaginable. No, it's all because of the "elites"
