>Bumpfire! You can bump fire by sticking your shooting finger in a belt loop, and pushing your firearm forward with a vertical grip. You can't ban "bump-fire" - it's fucking physics.
The only way to ban "bump-fire" is to ban the ability to pull a trigger, or to ban firearms altogether. That won't happen.
>Full auto! Legal full autos cost $30k or so, and require you to get paperwork and fingerprinted already. You can of course put a string on an AK and make it fully automatic, but that is ALREADY ILLEGAL.
>Mental illness! Licenses! Supervision and oversight! You can't own a firearm if you beat your wife, that's already illegal. You can have your firearms taken away from you by relatives if you are deemed "mentally unstable" already (meaning a risk to yourself or others). You need the FBI to do a background check on you to purchase any firearm.
What more do you want? Micro-chips in everybody's arm, so they can be tracked 24/7 in case they do something you don't like? Is that what you REALLY want?
Tell me lib/pol/ - what do you REALLY want.

sensible, common sense gun laws.

Bump Stock ban federal legislation was introduced about 12 hours ago by Senator Feinstein

Like? I've already outlined what is already illegal. Describe the law you want.
Of course, you're Australian. You want no guns.
Jason Flores
They want to propagate propaganda.

"....WELL REGULATED..."
Samuel Gutierrez
What is it specifically banning? The stock itself? All you need is a way to pull the trigger by moving the rifle (as opposed to moving your finger itself). How do you ban that? Banning semi-auto fire?
William Baker
I'm just answering your question. Yes the stock.
Camden James
You do not know what 'regulated' even means. In the context of a 'well regulated MILITIA,' you would be talking about well trained citizens allowed to own firearms.
All you're saying is that Stephen Paddock should have more firearm training.

Strictly speaking, your forefathers ran to the French and begged them to shoot the British. Then you pretty much sat back and did nothing while France, Spain and Holland saved you.
Gavin Lee
Ofc liberals get to tell what is sensible and what is not, just like how they get to tell what is hate speech and what is not (^:
Aaron Cruz
Then something else will be made to get around it, like the belt loop idea I mentioned. It's perfectly legal - each trigger pull shoots one round until the action cycles itself.
People are banning things that mean nothing, and call it "common sense gun control." It makes no sense.
Tyler Reed
explain how kinetic energy is not pure gypsy magic
Julian Thompson
If it meant literally nothing then there'd be no such thing as a bump stock let alone cost $200
Ryan Scott
I suggest we ban Australian and British IPs from Sup Forums, for starters. Then they should be banned from accessing the wwb altogether. Their states are probably going to do it sooner or later anyway, saying it's for their own good that they can't access outside content, just like in NK. And the rest of the world will be much better off.
Ethan Martinez
But user, no, kinetic energy is clearly pure gypsy magic.
You filthy gypsy.

>Ban guns >Autists start building crossbows that fire bullets >It's not a gun, it's a crossbow You wouldn't call a guy who shoots swords from a bow a swordsman
Lincoln Mitchell
>Nothing on earth has been useless, and yet marketed as a useful thing Sure, a bump stock would help you hold a rifle to your shoulder while bump firing...but the simple idea of "move gun forward while shoving finger in trigger slot" is something that can be done without a stock. Someone will just shove it on the foregrip instead.
Xavier Allen
>Implying I want to ban guns I'm asking what the actual laws these guys want to pass ARE.
Jaxson Sullivan
>marketed No I was referring to market value which it has up to 300 as I recall
As for what's next on the agenda I couldn't say.
Evan Lewis
You never said you didn't want to launch nukes from ballistas either
Gabriel Williams
>sensible >common sense
Nothing about Aus gun laws fits into this, take the time to read into state gun laws and you begin to realize that they have been written by people who have little to no understanding of the subject matter.
You have various states that have absurd appearance laws that will determine a firearms category based on appearance, not actual function. Police in some states can confiscate firearms from licensed individuals based on their opinion alone. Lever action shotguns with a magazine capacity of more than 5 are categorized the same as semi automatics.
These are only a few examples, our gun laws are a mess.
Asher Price
You missed my point. The bump stock is not required for the act of firing "full-auto" to be possible. It's a physics trick. Someone will design some other gimmick to get the same result. (And yes, "full-auto" is in quotes. There's still a disconnector in civilian semi-autos, nothing changes that while remaining legal anyways.)
Easton Reed
ban guns. stop letting people carry them.
Dominic Moore
No I didn't miss your point. You asked a question and I answered it. As for their perplexing reason for doing it is just a cost analysis starting point. Gotta start somewhere. Cant pick the whole tree at once.
Evan Ramirez
>The only way to ban "bump-fire" is to ban the ability to pull a trigger, or to ban firearms altogether. That won't happen. false. they could ban semi-auto rifles... maybe 90% of the semi-auto rifles on the market are tactical-looking "assault weapon" style
Nicholas Cox
Track bullet purchases same as ephedra. No reason a person should be allowed to stockpile thousands of rounds of ammo. If he's a legit hog hunter fighting an infestation or some shit, require a license for extra ammo.
Josiah Rodriguez
And as I recall there's a lot of precedent for doing so. Precedent to fight it as well but still.
David Robinson
>bump-fire stocks use the gun's recoil to fire the weapon at a higher rate of fire >automatic firing actions use the gun's recoil to rechamber the gun and fire the weapon at a higher rate of fire
Bump stocks exploit recoil and the public's lack of comprehension of gun mechanics to pass legislation, because MUH MUH IT'S JUST THE BUTT OF THE GUN isn't actually describing that it turns the butt and the human finger into part of the action >but the recoil makes it impractical desu full auto is never supposed to be used for marksmanship, but it's useful for laying down walls of death where you don't need to aim so much as rain bullets. which is exactly what happened
Dominic White
I actually want to see that happen, just to see it...but only if cops and the military become criminals for "possessing" firearms, too. That way, there's no way to enforce it.
Samuel Nguyen
That's the only thing that you could probably push for, and I don't see that passing. Semi-auto is the new standard for firearms.
Dylan Carter
How many people have to die before I give up my guns: All of them.
Angel Russell
nah. just take em off civilians, like anywhere else in the world.
Hudson Moore
Kinda the old one too. In the right hands a revolver can be fired so fast it's invisible to the naked eye. We'd basically have to go back to bolt action. Which even then could have killed dozens of people in this exact scenario. And thats pretty old technology I think.
Samuel Taylor
>Use the gun's recoil to rechamber the gun That already occurs in a semi-auto. The only thing bump-firing gets around is the trigger disconnect that exists in all semi-auto firearms. It's a safety feature to prevent runaway shooting. The bump stock is designed as a way for your finger to float on and off the trigger as fast as the gun can cycle, as opposed to having any trigger control at all.
You would have to ban semi-automatic guns in all their forms to stop such a weapon from existing.
Levi Gray
The founding fathers would be "nazis" if still alive today.
Brayden Powell
But that makes it boring. American Exceptionalism!
But you wouldn't know anything about that, would you, recycled memeflag trash?
Logan Campbell
They would be criminals. They still are. Treason against the British then is still treason now. It didn't stop being treason just because they won.
Angel King
>implying a new piece of rifle furniture can turn a finger into a pressure-bearing moving part How is a bumpstock any different from the belt loop trick? Your finger doesn't become part of the gun, and the stock just slides back ans forth with you doing all the work
Elijah Collins
Gun ownership is for non-nigger countries: Finland, Switzerland, Norway, Canada, Sweden, France. These countries get to have guns because they have proved they can do so without more than one mass shooting every 6 months. Australia, USA, UK, all Latin American and African countries shouldn't have guns because we/they are panicky fucktards, who will shoot up a school because some girl dumped them. Humans get guns, stone-age tier niggers don't. /thread
Samuel Allen
So, only two things came out of this thread. >Ban bump-stock, which is a band-aid measure for reasons explained in the thread And >Ban semi-autos, which will probably never happen because they are ubiquitous.
That's the "common sense" gun reform that people want. I'm gonna go hit the sack, later Sup Forums.
Nicholas Jackson
>bump fire stocks Its not a firearm, it's an accessory. Of course it can be banned.
It's also worth saying that it's a novelty gimmick that has been used in 0.0001% firearms deaths over the past decade. Banning it will not save lives.
Henry Ward
