I don't think it's unreasonable, given that the installation of a bump stock constitutes a de facto conversion of the weapon to fully automatic, which is illegal. If the NRA were to oppose this it would be implicitly advocating for circumvention of the law against fully automatic weapons, which is hardly defensible.
