From my experience, you can rent two rooms that are accessible by both the front door and another door between the two. If you tell them at the desk that you have multiple guests and want rooms next to each other, they'll give you a key (it was a standard key that unlocks a deadbolt in my experience) for another door that links the two rooms, so you don't have to go in the hallway and use another keycard to access the other room.

I feel like people monitoring cameras were floors above him which are all lit up nicely above his room, would tie into arms deal then gone wrong, but there were cameras set up in both rooms, i think second shooter in second room to monitor stairwell and shoot stairwell, why would he not cover that?
