They are more prone to occupying positions which are perceived favorable by their peers.
In the past they where predominantly conservative relative to males, because it was perceived as "the right thing to do".
Now liberalism is broadly considered "the right thing", even the so-called conservative is just closet liberals.

It's a lot more insidious than I think most people realize. The Left figured out long ago that women form their identities mainly focused on social acceptance, whereas men are mainly independent. So essentially whatever seems to a woman to be the popular approved thing is the thing she will believe. Combined with their greater likelihood of scoring higher on Big 5 trait agreeableness, and it is easy to convince them that everyone is polite and compassionate if their heart bleeds for the oh-poor-babies out there, and you're literally Hitler if you don't virtue signal enough. Bombarded with sympathetic messages by mass media and childhood education, reinforced by their peer groups being isolated into cohorts for easier social manipulation, and BAM! Generation after generation of leftist women, to whom men will pander.

But there's a shadow side to every expression of personality, and in a Jungian sense it's like society has a society all its own composed of the amalgam of the people who make it up. What we have now is an over-feminized society personality type, due to decades of social manipulation, and it turns out that it is rotten to the core. We are living in the world's first gynocentric tyranny, and it turns out that it looks uncannily like Orwell's 1984. And, just like in 1984, the more totalitarian this society becomes, the more people reject the fundamental lies upon which it is predicated, fomenting the revolution that will inevitably destroy it.

Judging the situation from a Big 5 view, people who are high in Agreeableness, specifically compassion are liberals, as well as being high in openness. Meanwhile, conservatives are high in conscientiousness, specifically orderliness, and are low in openness.

Especially for compassion, women tend to skew towards a liberal personality.

They lack the critical thinking skills and skepticism that's most common in European male brains. They also usually have a strong desire to fit in with the crowd, so when evil Jews control all of the media and relentlessly try to portray their lies as reality, a lot of women will believe it.

No, a mother's bond to her children is not out of compassion. A by passer that will help a child in distress is out of compassion. A mother will help her children because it is evolutionary strategy to ensure that her genes will live on. She is invested in her children, a by-passer isn't

Okay, so it's like you've got 5 personality traits (which is why it's called the big 5), and if you want to look at a problem through the personality trait... lens, let's say, then you have to pick one of them. Or maybe a couple of them in some cases, because the research is very robust in associating more than one trait with given subtraits, but it works the other way too, and the big five really break down into the slightly-less-big ten, and from that standpoint aggreeableness *really* represents politeness and compassion, which if you've ever known a woman including your mother, will give you great insight as to why women score so much higher on trait agreeableness (on average). So then it's like, if you know anything about personality typing, then you see people like the feminists coming along and insisting there are no differences between the male and the female even as they act out their femininity in the most stereotypical way possible by demanding that everyone conform to their version of politeness by using their specific list of approved manners of speech, while simultaneously dividing the world into helpless babies that need to be rescued and vicious snakes that need to be stepped on, which is exactly the breakdown that subtrait compassion codes for. So it's like, if you look at feminism and those who subscribe to it, by god, that analysis fits them to a tee. It's almost like the Big 5 has validity, which of course it does with something like a correlation coefficient of .8 in most trials.

In america, the reason why women fall for liberalism is because for the longest time, conservatism was the party of straight old white men who seemed to hate anything to do with poor people, or gay people, or women. They were the party of anti-compassion. Meanwhile, democrats pandered to all the things that republicans seemed to be against. Democrats were the party of reasonable compassion, at least until 2012 when they started pushing the same agenda that feminists were pushing with the blatantly false statistics. Instead of being completely inclusive now they are the anti straight white male party who will fix the non existent wage gap and will fight to stop the rapes that aren't happening on college campuses and put an end to the lack of diversity in areas that don't need or didn't want it.

Basically light liberalism seems compassionate and conservatism seems to lack compassion from a first glance to women, who usually aren't very interested in politics in the first place.
