>dat shitty ROI
Will they be okay?

What? Only $265k profit?

5 people make more money in a year.

they're obviously funded by Soros to dissuade Japs from reproducing

At least they haven't turned to growing tomatoes
RIP

Well, clearly, this is proof that they're failing miserably and should go back to adapting Kadokawa series and Key VNs. I'm sure that way they will make even more money.

They're one of the few private studios that actually turn profit.

It was an off year for them with the move. They made even less than they usually do.

Violet Evergarden will save KyoAni and anime.

At MINIMUM 30k sales. Screencap this post.

Will they make another fujoshit show then? Free! was their most successful of their own shit

It'll do worse than Phantom World.

Only Free season 3 can save KyoAni.

That's yearly profit? There has to be some money laundering in this somehow
I doubt that's actually possible

PW didn't do that bad, as far as flops go it was on the higher end of the flop spectrum.

I agree they should have made Rewrite instead of 8bit

i don't understand how other studios that don't even come close to even stay afloat. how do studios make do with no fucking sales

>High Speed's BD is projected to sell only 10k copies
>can't make more fujoseller because Utsumi is gone
>Koe no Katachi isn't getting enough promotion
>the trailer only has 300k views

Is it finally over?

Gonzo turned a profit and was bought by a company this year. Anime is a mysterious business.

Well, they do only 1-2 shows and some movie per year anyway.

>it's shit but in the better side of shit

Literally what you said

Left boy is delicious, no homo.

Do you want the honest non-troll answer or just the usual shitpost cycle bantz?

No it will be K-ON

they end up being the same thing

>actually turning a profit
that's pretty impressive desu

>they let Utsumi go
I didn't like Free but shit was pretty successful, I wonder why she left

Most studios work on debt

You said that it was not possible that Violet could do worse than PW, implying that PW did the worst, which is not true since the worst it can be is not have Oricon even track the sales. Do you even follow your own conversations, retard?

So just funposting. Got it.

The answer is yakuza dwarves.

High speed is projected to sell 25k.

>implying that was me
Nice trips though

Wanted to be freelancer.

Sexism.
Yamada will be the only female director around.

Fujita will leave soon.

If their revenue goes up every year but their profit stays around the same or goes down doesn't that just mean they're spending more on stuff

>no school+slice of life shows
>no relevant amount of profit
>next series KyoAni is doing is a shoujo+love triangle with a robot
They're finished.

Curse Kyoto Animation for making anime that women enjoy and which gives them plenty of money.

Now I shall forever hate them and call them KyoAnus.

That will show them for sure.

>made profit
>hurr durr Kyoani is dying

>implying it matters whether that was you

What are you even trying to say?

>150 employees this year
>last year they had 149

Who did they add?

Exactly. It's over. Studio Sanzigen won.

Me.

A janitor for the new building.

>next series KyoAni is doing is a shoujo+love triangle with a robot
They don't have a series like that.

Because studios don't have to rely on disc sales. There are other ways to get revenue.

Manwhore

disc sales isn't the only thing that brings money

Based KyoAnon
How many new Kumikos can we expect from season 2?

I'll make sure Yamada storyboards a few ultra rare for you.

Well yes
Breaking even isnt enough and if you have gigantic revenue then its even worse.

Companies need profits to expand.

Just as many as there are now, but with light pink uniforms instead of brown.
And then there will be a new special edition where all of them wear sombreros all the time, so that you'll have trice as many Kumikos than you have now.

>It'll do worse than Phantom World.
So wrong

...

Oh yeah they built a new studio last year right that's probably why the profits are lower

But it will. Each episode of Violet Evergarden will cost 100 billion yen to produce (the minimum required to make perfectio), so the discs will be so expensive, nobody can actually afford them, making VEG sell worse than Phantom World.

...

>mfw poorfags can't afford VEG

I'll be buying the deluxe limited edition BD with event ticket

Meanwhile at Toei

Employees at Year-end - Around 600
38,134,000,000 Yen - Retained Earnings

So fiscal year is from April 2015 to March 2016

KyoAni only made two shows and a movie in that time. Hibike (8.3k), Phantom World (2.3k) and High Speed (680 million yen).

This is Bones' April 2014 - March 2015

Revenue: 1,222,000,000 yen
Profit: -63,978,000 yen

They did Captain Earth (1.4k), Soul Eater Not (200), Chaika (1.6k), Space Dandy 2 (800), and Chaika 2 (1k)

I'm sure with more info someone can come up with an average number of BD sales needed in a fiscal year relative to the revenue.

I unironically believe this

That still only means 1 disc sold, you silly rich mooncastle-owner

Any company that makes >0 profit is doing ok.

>comparing toei to kyoani
That's overblown and you know it. Toei doesn't even animate shit

Someone was dumb enough to hire me so I'll be able to throw money at VEG.

>Comparing McDonalds to a local restaurant.

>Profit: -63,978,000 yen
W-Will they be okay?

>bd sales
I'm pretty sure that isn't that relevant. Gundam most probably could keep afloat only with gunpla sales.

>Each pixel in VEG is actually a multi-length novel written on a typewriter
How does GodAni do that?

You're pretty sure that isn't that relevant on multi-million dollar franchises like Gundam, or DBZ, but small studios make profits through BD sales for the most part.

>losing 600K USD in a company

Eh, they'll be fine

Pay animators and the likes later, like years later.

Teekyuu is proof that those animators are overpayed hacks who complain too much and still get too many benefits.

Animators should be forced to pay for the privilege to work on anime.

KinoAni will always find a way

>they do it for free

They should now be called Kin-IroAni.

Comparing KyoAni to other studios that have a franchise to fall back on doesn't really work since KyoAni doesn't have a godtier franchise to fall back to.

KyoAni doesn't have a Gundam UC/idolmaster so it's more worrying when they are bleeding cash than if Sunrise had some anime fail.

>Kino-Ani
Why hasn't this caught on yet?

This is what Tezuka-sama wanted, and going against the wishes of the god of manga is blasphemous.

It's catching on as we speak

Fuck off to

I thought that was

Sup Forums is so out of touch they still think Sup Forums makes memes.

KyoAni should do anime about idols.

Or Hyouka S2, I just hope they change the fact that Chitanda has a boyfriend and he is not Oreki.

>Gonzo is bought out because they're profitable
Makes sense to me.

>KyoAni should do anime about idols.
No.
>Chitanda has a boyfriend and he is not Oreki
Stop this meme

Oh no, with the low profits they'll play even safer and produce uninspired garbage, which people will eat up of course.

>>KyoAni should do anime about idols.
>No.
Yes, they should do it. They should do male idol anime.

Stop this at once

The reason they didn't make as much profit is because they ARE expanding. They are building a new studio, which costs money, alongside making their shows and movies, and they still manage to make profit. If they weren't spending on expanding, they'd have more profit. It doesn't matter how much they profit as long as they make some profit, because that means they can afford to pay their employees, which is the whole point of economy. The money they spend on each show isn't money lost, it's money that goes to paying the people who actually work there, and if they get enough revenue to make some profit, that means they can keep giving money to their employees.

That is already a thing anyway. It's best that KyoAni does that.

>Sup Forums is so out of touch
And who exactly are you, you crossposting shitter?

Meanwhile at shaft
>Revenue: 1.335 billion yen
>Profit: 22 million yen

I guess it's true when people say all the pornogatari money goes to aniplex

What kind of new studio are they building?

Better question, who the fuck are you?

One of the fine educated scholar and gentlemen from

Fuck, even at KyoAni's worst they still turn more profit than SHAFT?

An animation studio.

It should be obvious that they make more than slaves.

Violet Evergarden will popularize that nickname.
