Why on earth have they not released footage after four days? The Boston Bombing incident that occured not to long ago had footage released on the third day.

It's been awhile since I've been in Mandalay Bay, but I recall the hotel lobby and elevators being away from the casino floor. In some of the Vegas hotels, you have to go walk through the casino floor to get to the elevator banks. As such, there are tons of cameras everywhere.
When you're not on the casino floor, the cameras are few and far between. If you're walking to the self-park garage, for instance, there are some, but not nearly as many as the main floor. I'm not sure what cameras are available on the individual floors where the guest rooms are.
In short, Vegas only cares about protecting the money and chips. Forget the rest of the building.
it is safe to assume back of house areas do not have nearly as many cameras as front of house areas do in hotel/casinos.
however, i know of cameras on the roof of my hotel that can zoom in on your license plate.
