The Saudis, as well as many other governments and state-owned oil companies are about to go bankrupt because the price of oil is so low which is precisely why the Saudis and ((( banks ))) who lost their shirts in the oil futures markets are pushing this false supply issue in the media. If there really were a supply issue coming you'd see the prices for futures contracts for 2018 delivery shooting through the roof.
There are no real supply issues on the near-to-mid time horizon. The Saudis are just trying to pump the price of oil. Even contracts for delivery in 2025 are only $2 more than contracts deliverable today.

We have enough sweet crude to last another 30-40 years minimum and enough sour crude for another 60-70. We have 100+ years of recoverable shale oil which will be profitable to get out of the ground once we finally run out of easily recoverable oil. Natural Gas is usually found in the same places oil is and surpassed coal this year as the most newly constructed kind of power plant, so natural gas has a bright future as well. Oil & Gas will be fine.
