Well I don't know if they story is going to explore this, they do it more in the manga but, Mikleo is more supportive of Sorey hanging out with ANY human, this is because Mikleo believes that he's not good enough to be a "true companion" to Sorey because he's not human and therefore lacking. He has a bit of a complex about that, and is kind of jealous of all the humans in the party because of it.

Tenzoku makes perfect sense as Seraphs because Seraphs and fiery serpents were related.

I saw a bit of it too, they put more of an emphasis on the break up, make up scenario so that you see just how it effects them. They have time to explore the relationship especially since there's not much to Zestiria's story in the first place.

That's a part of the reason why I'm upset that the game was lacking if you read the interviews there is a lot to Sorey and Mikleo's relationship but very little of it translated to the game.

Mikleo has always loved Sorey and just wants to be closer to him, but thinks that he can't because they're from a different race.

Sorey being left handed, his right side isn't guarded. So Mikleo originally covers his right, but when his left eye goes blind, he goes to his left instead.

Sorey is right handed, so he tends to have openings on his left side.

I think even the game itself focused on Sorey/Mikleo's relation moreso than most others, even that (as well as Sorey and Mikleo as individuals) were shafted alongside everyone else. When you think about it, it's not that their relationship is 'developed' - rather it's stagnant entirely after they 'make up' in Ladylake. But rather, there was more care and focus towards it than others. Even then, I wouldn't say Zestiria was 'about' their relationship because there were many things that could've been done with them.

You can tell someone fucked up with Zestiria's script. There's something off about it even when you consider Tales of's standards.
