Reminds me of light rail debates in 2 different cities... Scottsdale, which borders Phoenix, was being pressured by the city to have the light rail go into their town. Sacramento CA had an almost identical debate. I live in Phoenix. There's a light rail that's roughly in the center of Phoenix. You can't get on it without running into spics/nigs/homeless/junkies or the ever-present drunken Indian. Every neighborhood that faces the light rail has homes and businesses with bars on the windows.

I live in Phoenix as well. When we were looking for a house to purchase I had to redpill my wife and realtor on these fucking things. Realtor wasn't too familiar with the area but she knew exactly what I was talking about after we looked at homes near any of the stops.
Also, friend of mine used to loooooove the idea of the light rail until he moved a business of his close to one of the stops. I couldn't hate light rail systems more - they're just an easy way for the homeless/degenerate/druggies to move around the city.

I thought that the reason why traffic is so horrific is because the freeway system was designed by some psycho that literally wanted to kill people, Minnesotans refusing to merge properly, Somalian female drivers, pervasive passive-aggression, no one ever remembering what is ice, and a truly bizarre multi-directional rush hours due to people living in the cities and working in burbs just as much as the opposite

Part of it is poor design, but instead of trying to fix it we are destroying car lanes and replacing them with bike lanes (in already congested areas) and cutting funding for roads and diverting it to pike/pedestrian paths.
