alex is not crazy or stupid, but he does a stream of consciousness show where he speculates wildly on current events. much of his speculation is based on provable fact that the MSM or nobody else will cover (such as MKULTRA, Operation Mockingbird, Tuskeegee Experiments, Operation Northwoods, and many other things) but it is still speculation nonetheless.
some people in the world today, particularly leftists, need to have a firm, black and white, right and wrong, concrete "thing" that they can latch on to. the sort of nebulous, critical thinking, "we don't really know but we're going to try to get to the bottom of it" angle from which Jones attacks most issues makes them sick to their stomach. it makes them angry for some reason and they can't deal with it. so he literally drives them haywire and they will legitimately FLIP OUT at anyone who even says they like his show and listen to him because that sort of mentality presents such an existential threat to their black and white worldview, which is mostly determined by what the main stream media and their liberal professors tell them to believe.

i dunno i think they need surety in their lives in order to make reality palatable to them. i think they need to believe the world is simple and structured and that everything is fine and that "the good guys are winning" (MSM / "deep state" / globalist forces are def more powerful than trump and the conservative camp, overall, so they decide those are the "good guys"). it's part stockholm syndrome, part cognitive dissonance.
"fear of the unknown" can be the most intense and nagging fear for many people. and so to admit the world is murky and that they might not ever be able to find the hard, absolute, concrete answers they seek is very difficult for them.
