ITT: Manga that got axed and/or had inconclusive FUCK YOU endings

What's her name, Sup Forums?

The worst about it is that it wasn't even axed if I remember right, author got just fed up.

So disappointed by the ending, there was so much shit that was left unexplained ...

I'm still sad.

...

Itoshi no Karin.

recently the manga about a teenage guy and girl that solve mysteries revolving the island they live in

I think kid is able to predict near death and death

It was interesting until the final chapter left in a huge cliffhanger with the bad kids talking to head honcho guy warning the head honcho about the teenage detectives

The final page was the author apologizing to the readers because he has a illness and won't be returning for a while , nearly two or so years pass and he passed away without ever giving the readers a single update

To this day I don't know if he had cancer but the manga was good and I'm severely disappointed we will never get a at least rushed ending

Shindere Shoujo to Kodoku na Shinigami, was it?

Shinigami sama to 4 nin no kanojo and shindere shoujo to kodoku na shinigami. Fuck you too, OP.

Cage of Eden. That's the one that comes to mind.

It's Korean, but damn what a shitty ending. The first 2 or 3 volumes were a pretty cool Hellsing ripoff, and then suddenly they throw away the entire plot up until that point and it veers off into propaganda about Japanese war crimes against Koreans, complete with mini history lesson epilogue encouraging readers to "uncover the truth" and absolutely nothing from the first half gets resolved or explained.

I'm still fucking mad for that one, OP, thanks for reminding me.

Yeah

>Itoshi no Karin.

Triggered

That reminds me of Veritas which ended completely out of no where. The author blamed the internet and now works in an office somewhere.

10/10 girl, 7/10 series, 4/10 MC.

...

At least the author was able to not take themselves too seriously about the end.

Also, seconding on everyone's opinions about OP's choice.

Ratman was ahead of its time.
Had it been released now in the age of capeshit it wouldn't have gotten axed.

One of the few times a porn artist has made me cry.

Underrated series

I don't think you can call a monthly that lasts something like five years axed.

Pretty sure he's doing Action Idols. Although, that's been on hiatus for like half a year now.

Didn't it just end? I'm pretty sure it wasn't axed

Source? Google gives me nothing.

Boku ni Koisuru Mechanical. It's a fun read, but only 14 chapters long.

I would agree with and .

There is a difference between "axed" and "ending in a way that appears unsatisfactory."

Still mad.
I'll never not get mad at this, fuck.

Yeah, that was bullshit.

Oh shit, is that what happened? I liked that manga.

THIS

Sun Ken Rock. It was actually entertaining until the last few chapters where absolute bullshit character assassination happened out of nowhere. And that bullshit "ending" just made it worse. It felt the author let something in his personal life affect his work.

Did anyone ever figure out what the solution was?

He literally said in his extra for the last volume that he was writing a revenge story for 24 Volumes and changed it for the last because some vietnamese cuck wrote him a letter after the paris incident, telling him that he is grateful for the anti-discrimination subplot in Sun Ken Rock. He was so touched that he threw all his ideas out for the actual end.

The ending was fine and conclusive, wasn't it? It was the middle that dropped the ball.

The end was literally see you in 5 years.

Final chapter even had a preview for the next storyarc.

Also, Mx0.

Well that's bullshit. Isn't that why editors exist? He spent 140+ chapters building up the relationship between Ken and Yumin only for her to fucking shoot him right when he was about to win the final battle.

On top of that she not only gets away with it, He hands her control over everything he owns and fucks off somewhere

>Shina_Dark

Who remember those anime PVs from SHAFT and thought we were getting an anime adaptation?

Might as well post the legendary of all fuck you endings

...

Children of the Sea by Daisuke Igarashi, scanlators dropped it a decade ago when it got licensed in the US, except there's no licensed version in my country and importing the rare copies available costs a fuckton.

Yes, that's the point. Instead of a Revenge Story he changed it into one about forgiveness.

>not posting flowers
I was on with the actual ending we eventually got. But SK Flowers got a raw deal. It ended when the only interesting character showed up.

Fuck Flowers, it was shit anyways and it didn't really get any sort of ending it just sot of stopped and Takei decided to not continue it(good thing because he literally shat on the OG Shaman King with this garbage, not to mention the atrocious pacing)

Flowers "ending" was a good thing
OG Shaman King Princess Hao ending 12 years ago was bullshit on the other hand

Fucking informed my local authority over this.

SOON

>4/10 MC
Yes, but he had his moments

The actual ending to shaman king shat on the series. It's incredulous cynical where even though they talked Hao off of his ledge, he is still right about humans. and the next shaman fight will probably have significantly less people because the idea of spiritualism in modern society is dying off. Very few people actually come to a satisfactory conclusion to their story lines. With flowers even though it started off really bad and revise a lot of things that didn't need to be touched it was getting better.

There was not!
Was just an excuse by the author.
Still so fucking mad!
Right after they implied that his wife is still alive and actually a holy knight/hero out to kill him.
We finally reached the point of background story and main plotline being revealed.

Ratman was okay, but the final villain was garbage. Plus, it was clear that the author was at least thinking about wrapping everything up when he was told to rush the ending.

It could have been better, but I didn't feel like Ratman suffered too badly from "sudden ending" syndrome.

Wrong, wrong and wrong
You completely missed the damn point of the series just like a plebeian speedreader

He's not "right" about the humans, he's way too one-sided because he had a lot of their negative thoughts float into him against his will because of the Reishi which skewered his view on humanity in a major way and he couldn't see the good points

This is where Yoh differs from Hao, he never had the Reishi so even though he didn't like humans he did see good points about them(eventually meeting Manta helped that too)

Now Flowers really shat on the series
>The kids are cunts
>Hana is an asshole
>Alumni is a failure of an Anna and really annoying
>Men is creepy
>Yoh and Anna killed by a fucking Helicopter
>Jeanne killed by some bitch somehow
>Horohoro is a neet
>Lyserg nowhere near to be found
>Redseb and Seyram are evil for some reason
>G8
>Tamao is now a lame Anna clone but tries so hard to be edgy as fuck it's insufferable
>Ryu is a bum instead of seeking his best place with this buddies
>Chocolove is still in jail
>Ren is nowhere to be fucking found while his wife gets murdered
>Jews from Yahabe have literal asspull powers with no explanation
>New Asakura branch out of fucking nowhere
>Yohane's sister is a literal shitty rehash of Tao Jun
I could go on and on

Only good thing was Death Zero
And it's a joke how Hao was a better mother to Hana than fucking Tamao was
And another fucking thing, why wasn't Hana left with Yoh's grandpa at Izumo? Why did they drop him off at useless Tamao?
If they had dropped him at Yoh's Grandpa Hana might have been more mature by the start of the series

Psyren is one I'm still upset about. It had a lot of really cool ideas and excellent characters. It's just a damn thing it wasn't popular enough and the author had to rush everything.

Could have negro boxing Berserk in the wild west fighting KKK apostles but no apparently.

He's dead user

We lost this for Nisekoi. It was actually interesting with a nice little romance story without the bullshit and cock teasing.

>We lost this for Nisekoi.
Worth the trade
Chitge > Double Arts

I will never understand all the outrage over this. It was nothing worth crying over.

*Chitoge

It was axed, but at least it had a cute open ended ending. Also who knows, now that Nisekoi is ending the author might come back to this.

Calling me a speed reader when you missed what I said about cynicism and Hao.

One of Hao's biggest points is that humans and shamans are kind of incompatible and he's kind of right. Not because he can read minds, but because society had become increasingly secular. Shamanism is dying far faster than it did previously because the world doesn't care for it anymore. Even the humans who found out about the SF just sent an army to try and kill off the remaining contestants and try and take the GS for themselves.

Yoh and Hao are two sides of the same coin, but neither of them is objectively right and the series goes great lengths to show that. Yoh is just more agreeable because he'a not genocidal.

Aside from that I agree about flowers except for a few characters. Chocolove's story is about forgiving himself and redemption. So him being in prison is fine because he's serving time for his crimes. Lyserg being Mia is fine because he's a detective doing his job. Horo Horo is a sticking point because it hilight my problem with the the OG ending. He get's the most back story charactization of the whole cast and it amounts to nothing in the end. Same with Ryu, he just gave up on his dream to be an actual father figure for Hana.

But like I said, death zero was a turning point because he's actually interesting so we both can agree on that.

>One of Hao's biggest points is that humans and shamans are kind of incompatible and he's kind of right.
A point which pretty much everyone in the series made
The problem was that Hao's "solution" to kill humanity was absolute bullshit

Hao went the wrong path when he couldn't get over his desire for revenge
As Ohachiyo says to him at the end of Mappa Douji, "In the end you're nothing but a human"(well that's not the actual quote it's actually much longer but I just simplified it)

You could argue that Hao would be similar to how Yoh is had he never went the wrong path

I don't see how it's cynical, if anything the ending showed that Hao's soul was finally somewhat at ease thanks to Yoh

>I don't see how it's cynical
The cynical part is how even though Hao's philosophy was proven wrong. He revived everyone to live in a world where some of the cast are unable to fulfill their dreams. They even hilight that in the last chapter.

>Jeanne killed by some bitch somehow
I'm still mad.

yeah, and maybe kubo will come back to Zombie Powder...

Well I think that's the lesson in Shaman King
Sometimes you don't get what you want in life
It's the bittersweet truth that fits a bittersweet manga like Shaman King

But it also means that you don't need to stop trying(like Yoh who promised Hao he would make the world a better place)

I think people tend to misinterpret the message of the series because it's not really that straightforward

Hao's major problem was that he cared too much about the world that surrounded him to the point where he forgot about himself(and then Yoh saved his soul)
After that ending there was no way Hao ever considered annihiliating the human race ever again but he made Yoh promise to him that he would make the world a better place(just to test his trust)...after all when Yoh died in Flowers he didn't destroy the human race

Instead, what bothers me in Flowers is that for example in Horohoro's case he's not even trying...he should be at the mountains trying to raise those Fuki Fields

Stuff like Yoh/Anna getting killed by a Helicopter is straight bullshit tho and is cheap shock at best

Still salty at how decent this manga actually was considered that I always dislike Bleach.

And ruin it?
No thanks

She shouldn't have given Shamash to her stupid son

Then again that Jew Bitch and their Jew powers...what the fuck
They never made any sense

Still mad

Also I wanted to see Milf Jeanne dammit
FUCK YOU TAKEI

>Yoh and Anna killed by a fucking Helicopter
>Jeanne killed by some bitch somehow
>Horohoro is a neet
>Ryu is a bum instead of seeking his best place with this buddies
>Chocolove is still in jail
>Ren is nowhere to be fucking found while his wife gets murdered
What the actual fuck? What is author thinking? The old casts doesn't deserve those at all.
Thank god, I only read the first chapter of flower.

I honestly don't know what he was thinking
Shaman King didn't need a sequel in the first place

It was because Shueisha were starting up a new Jump branded Magazine and needed a big series to drum up interest/sales to start it off. They went and asked Takei to do a continuation of Shaman King for it and Takei isn't exactly going to turn down work. It's ironic considering they cancelled Shaman King in Jump and yet they asked for a sequel series to it for their new magazine's #1 manga.

Also that magazine was shitcanned which is why flowers unceremoniously stopped getting updates.

>Nice premise
>Seinen
>Good fap

>Got axe'd
Still mad

I'd completely forgotten about that. Now I want to reread it but I know it'll just make me mad.

FUCKKKKK. I will never forgive Sup Forums for recommending this and then seeing the shit it fell into.

Negima. Always Negima. The ending to Negima was worse than all the genocides, Holocausts, rapes, and everything combined.

I still don't understand why they thought a that was a good flagship for Jump Kai, anyway. It was a seinen magazine with a bunch of mysteries and atmospheric SoL and sci-fi stuff, and they decided that the best way to drum up interest was with a sequel to a cancelled battle shounen.

This. I think another ten chapters would have done wonders for its conclusion.

I WILL NEVER FORGIVE THEM

>seinen
Shounen.

NEET Princess Terrass

...

>Shounen
Champion Red is a seinen magazine. The shonen ones are Monthly and Bessatsu Champion.

This. Something about it was so enjoyable and I understand that he had to wrap it up because it got axed but fuck me it was dumb.

why CLAMP

Fucking clamp

It changed demographics, it was shounen when Lives was running.

I'm still mad that the author waa force to change the premise.

This

this

still mad

Wait what?

>tfw some of these were in your backlog

Also finished this recently. It was okay for the ecchi parts.

Stealth Symphony. The rushed ending was actually a wild ride. Very obviously axed though.

In dire need of a third season with anime original ending.

>Congratulations!
That's a pretty cute way to handle the axe.

Going off the first couple chapters I don't think the gritty setting he was writing was going to be that enjoyable anyways.

My favorite way to handle the axe was Mission School, where the mangaka basically just gives up and spends the last volume on the characters finding out the manga was being cancelled and trying to save their world by doing random shit to drive up appeal and talking about all the other things he'd done to try to avoid cancellation before. By far the best part of a mediocre series.

Soil. Not dead in actuality, but no scans in three years.

Its hurts.
