Is George Orwell really our guy?

>Fought against the Nationalists in the Spanish Civil War
>Basically a democratic socialist with views similar to the modern BBC
>was a faithless atheist who believed in secular humanism
>enthusiastically supported Churchill's war against Fascist Europe

Sure, he coined a lot of good phrases for use in political debate, and I particularly like the emphasis he placed on clarity in writing in his essay, "Politics and the English Language". He really understood how essential language is to human freedom and understanding.

But his actual political views seem to be pretty milquetoast and Boomerish. If he were alive today, would he be that distinguishable in his thoughts from your standard Fabian socialist government school teacher or public servant? Probably not.

The Spanish Civil War redpilled him on how shitty Communism really was.

Animal Farm is basically a thinly veiled attack on Stalin. The Party in 1984 is supposed to be an American hegemony adopting a combination of Nazi Germany and the USSR's ideological rhetoric.

This, ANY government that strips it's people of rights and puts power into the hands of a few is shit. The Communists fucked everything up in Spain, they committed atrocities against the Catholic church which the Fascists propagandists had a field day with, would attack other anti-facist forces and steal their stuff and suck at combat.

Did you read any of his other essays?

1984 is not supposed to be a political work, its a dark comedy and you shouldn't take it too seriously in that regard

Orwell never lived under communism for any considerable length of time but was able to understand it at its core and introduced many true ideas such as thought-crime, double-think etc

Not really. He was an anarchist, socialist hack who had no problem with mass murder of the Spanish middle class in the civil war in name of the revolution. He just became "wise" to communism and it's lies and distortion of reality after the more organized commies cucked the anarcho's with help from the USSR before finally losing to Franco. I don't think he ever had any clear philosophical notions as to why socialism/communism is a bad thing.

>was a faithless atheist who believed in secular humanism
based

You forgot that he was a pro-gun racist and favored homogenous Britain

For you.

...

>Homo priests molesting boys

not helping your case, faggot

>the church acting as a human traficker for pedophiles is okay if it's homos

>enthusiastically supported Churchill's war against Fascist Europe
When excatly?

This is total fucking bullshit. He was a democratic socialist till the day he died. An attack on Stalin is not an attack on Communism, just Stalin

He was as Antifa as one can be. And he wrote a book where he describes the NWO. 1984 is a prediction just like the Illuminati playing cards. /notourgoy/

the Catholic church deserved/s it, and more

>ANY government that strips it's people of rights and puts power into the hands of a few is shit.
Equally any government beholden to the mundane average of society is shit desu.

Orwell = cuck. End of.

Pure scum.

>Wrote 1984

At least he had a sense of humor and something to say.

He's a commie cunt

ITT
>Butthurt communist faggots argue that democratic socialist and liberalism hasn't changed meaning in 80 years.
>meme flag faggots say Orwell wasn't anti communist

Orwell wasn't blinded from reality by his personal beliefs. Animal Farm and 1984 were based on shit happening around him.
