I'm only in my thirties, but I'm already feeling old. Not that it's a bad thing. This decade hit me like a sack of bricks. I wasn't mentally prepared for some of the cultural changes taking places. I'm really missing the 90s and 00s.

Anyone else feel out of place in this day and age?

>Anyone else feel out of place in this day and age?

This is the reason for Sup Forums existing, friendo

I turn 33 this month and I want to die

Wish it was early 00s again. Or the mid 90s. I wake up ever day feeling this feeling that u can't even begin to describe. Maybe longing. Idk. It sucks.

im 27 and i feel very old. I miss the 90s. i hate it here

31 y.o. and yes I know that feeling. I can't relate to anyone or anything anymore. I pretty much feel empty inside and I'm just waiting to die or whatever comes first.
I guess life wasn't for me. I wish I could switch places and give my life to someone else.

Late 90's were the best.

I'm also 27 and it started hitting me at around 25.

IM 41 HOW THE FUCK DO YOU THINK I FEEL??????

>just ride it out bro

36 here. We are the new Lost Generation. Halfway between gen x and halfway millennial. Old enough to remember smoking cigarettes on planes and the soviet union.

idk things are pretty awesome have internet on my fucking cellphone in the woods

23 here and I remember playing football and basketball after school and the whole park would be filled now it just sits empty while kids get fat and apathetic on their iPods. Granted I am guilty of this as well had top grades could have played varsity basketball but I started playing wow and all downhill till recently

Has Marutei Tsurunen been mentioned already?

>Tsurunen was representing the democrats in the upper house of the Japanese parliament during they years 2002-2013 as its first Western-born member.

A fucking major achievement considering how doubtful the Japanese are against foreigners. Of course Finland is an exception of some sort, the older folk knows and appreciates Mannerheim and Finns.

Apparently a very conservative politician and that's exactly what japskies like.

That series was made by Jews to make fun of white working class values. I was raised on that show, but looking back...

32 I feel like everything I've ever loved has been completely ruined by jews and niggers, weee

We will take it back oldfag

42. I just want it to end.

great, you've finally realize humanity is in a death spiral like every generation since 1789, and now you get to have 19 year olds tell you that you don't know anything, until they to turn 30 and accept reality, until its too late and race war breaks out and we enter a 500 year technological collapse dark age.

I feel out of place in this day and age. We just have to make this our day and age.

The older I get, the more I feel like Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver.

>tfw no social media, cell phone, job, debt, or social life, and just living in a cabin in the woods with $19.99 a month wifi, and only media consumption and entertainment is Sup Forums and hitler documentaries

I’m 36 too. We are what they call a “micro generation” generation xennial or (((katalano))) generation. Miss the 80’s (what little I can remember) and 90s

The dark age is what im looking forward to the most though. I want the grid to expire.

The internet ruined everything

I want this bad

Welp, that about sums it up for me.

Everyone just relax. Live your life as you normally would, don't compromise on anything you believe in (without thoroughly thinking about it), and lead a good life.

Things change almost constantly, to include societal norms. Adapting to change only works if the change is just and, more importantly, needed. Learn to differentiate these and simply reject the bad ones. Take kikebook as an example: I was told that I would never be employed in the software industry without some sort of social media presence. They outright lectured us about it in college. I saw it as a gimmick, a fad that would fade into obscurity as quickly as it arrived.

I may have been wrong on the timeline, but I'm a software engineer who's never had a single social media account.

Weather the storm

Yeah, but if you look at his eyes, he appears to be half-asian.

I tired to stop counting my age at 25 but people keep reminding me of my age I think I'm 31 32 or 33

Burn him

Tried

I miss the early 90’s when aol just came out and playing doom and playing donkey Kong country and sonic and knuckles in fye at the mall. I miss going to nobody beats the wiz and playing loaded on PlayStation and virtua fighter and panasonic real and virtual boy and buying shareware computer games I remember mortal Jim at 2 was $74.99 REEEEEEE

Late 40's here. The 00's feel no different to me then the proceeding decade feels.

I feel like we're losing a lot of who we are in the west, not because of any political situation but because people are becoming isolated and compartmentalized on their devices.

For some people, it's probably increased their ability to socialize but for so many, I see them just living these insanely sheltered lives. Especially on here.

I often wonder if people will even stop indulging themselves long enough to keep civilization running.

I am so glad that I spent the time and money to keep my kids in group activities that kept them from lounging at home often.

This culture of on-demand entertainment is changing us, I can see it, ad I can feel its influence on myself as well. I honestly don't think I'd have anything that I have now if I had grown up with the modern access to instant gratification.

I'm not sure how to articulate it, I don't think that humanity is for sure screwed, but I feel like we're lost in a wilderness that we don't fully fathom.

cut single women over age 30 out of your life

that is what has changed, and it has made your life worse

think about the last 10 people you've wanted to tell to shut the fuck up

guaranteed they aren't married, are women, and are probably over 30 (late 20s sometimes but usually not until after 30)

the way they speak, think, act, all exist solely to tear you down because they are bitter that men dont want them anymore.

36 here. Society has passed me by. Culture is foreign to me. I don't understand young people anymore. I just want kids and a home away from all of this insanity.

I only bend my knee to god and my wife. Good thing i'm not married.

Try being in your mid-40's and seeing all the shit that has changed, most for the worst.

That's me.

its cuz whitey ages quick . Whitey is so inferior

You don't have to be old to realize this shit isn't normal.

Hey fellow 36ers. I wonder if there's something about our age in particular. Never fit in with gen x, never wanted anything to do with millennials. Just living in a cultural dead zone.

No. But sure can make you feel a little more shitty about it.

Wrong side of 40 here. Be glad your formative years weren't the 80s. Then you'd really see how far we've fallen.

This school is now 20% white

>
I feel the same way..

the most disastrous shift in western civilization was when women and normies found the internet

i have high hopes for gen zyklon though, they're rejecting social media which was the chief tool in ruining the west for the past 6 or so years

I feel ya, user. I miss the 80's too.

Hell, I can remember the second half of the 1970's (I was a kid then).

People talk a lot about genx and genz being based but the reality is that the majority of this site (especially a few years ago) are late 80s, early 90s millennials. The last age group to grow up before the days of Kikebook, Plebbit, smartphones and jewtube. If it wasn’t for millenials this website wouldn’t exist

>i'm 25 and I basically cry when I see these "nostalgic" 80s home videos.

Superior micro generation. Have the combined powers of gen x and millennial. Tech savvy like millennial but with work ethic and ability to still be able to work with hands like gen x. I was born in early 1981 and I remember in high school we didn’t have cell phones. Graduated 99 from high school. We did not have safe spaces like these faggots today but also aren’t technologically retarded like boomers and gen x ers.

>28
>dick is broke from too much porn
>throat is fucked from too many cigarettes
>former hardcore wow addict who wants to run away to azeroth daily
>former alcoholic but had to quit drinking or I was going to die
>only attracted to teen girls, refuse to date 22+, to the point where my family thinks I have pedo tendencies
>trolled into getting an engineering degree, but can't find a job because pajeets will work for pennies on the dollar
>30k in student debt, payments start next month and I have no way of paying them
>life is garbage
>thinking about pulling a ted Kaczynski and living in a cabin in the woods

>30s
Wait till 40's and trying to raise family because you wanted to be secure financially before having children.

When I was 28, I was convinced that a cabin in the woods was the only life for me. But shortly after that is when I started hitting my stride. I feel like 30 is the new 20 when it comes to establishing yourself as an adult. So don't fret too hard. You can find a career yet. Most people below 30 I know haven't found one.

I did this exact thing, I stopped giving a shit after 25. I'm 34 or something now

Here are two links that you may want to give a chance. This stuff is probably the click we all need.

I'm 24 and I feel the same.

This is true. We're a bridge from the old to the new, but we're dealing with a massive shit pile that our parents gen left us. Those greedy fucks ruined credit and savings, inflated home costs, created the HR nightmare of affirmative action and needing a bajillion years of experience for entry level jobs that they were able to saunter into straight out of Grade 10. Meanwhile we're lectured about our "privilege" by university age SJW faggots.

It's depressing. I'm going to go watch some Magnum, P.I. to make myself feel better.

Fuck yeah. It might just make you sad though. It did for me (knowing that shows/actors like that are almost all gone).

thanks for the encouragement friend. i appreciate it.

30 here. Sort of feel the same. Instead of missing certain times I feel like I missed out on a lot. A lot of potential wasted on my part. My own expectations for myself not lived up to.

Think of all of the technological and media change we have witnessed. I remember commodore 64, text-based video games on cassette tapes, music on cassette tapes, dial up internet, and looking forward to hover boards around this time.

And all we got is shitty social media and even shittier 'social justice'.

As white males, we went from simply being ubiquitous to being the devil incarnate.

It is nice to be able to keep thousands of albums in a device that can fit in your pocket, however.

I remember those as well. I wonder how many people here can recall waiting in gas lines or disco being popular.

>combined powers of gen x and millennial
I never thought of it that way before, gonna think about that and use it

.

That's because those expectations were set by the generation that fucked everything up. They made it seem like if you just work hard and get training you could have a career, car, house and family by 30. Not in this fucking world.

50 here, I hate to say this, but I prefer the Cold War to this shit. Liberals have completely fucked this country up, both the Progressive and Neocon types. So much opportunity lost.

Wow man

Where are the flying cars we were promised? Now I'm a "fucking white male" who has to say things like "his husband" and "her penis" or I'm rendered unemployable.

Of you destroyed cell phones one tenth of the problems would go away. The other 90% is that everyone is becoming figurative or literal niggers.

>Hang out with my 23yo cousins
>They like nigger beats
>Politely mention that our generational tastes in music are very different.

The way i see it, the internet has changed everything. So much so that people will start shying away from it naturally.

There's this classic meme here:
"Remember, you are stuck here forever"

/fit/ has a more refined version:
"you havent made it till you quit Sup Forums".

Channers already know this place is not that good for the psyche, and they tend to be ahead of the curve.

This. I'd take another Cold War, or even a hot war. Draft all those SJW fucks and let them see exactly how many "privileges" they have in the fucking army.

I fucking loved being on an empty plane with a pack of smokes and a few tv screens

Bullshit we saw this coming in the late 90’s and 2000’s it was the same nonsense nwo bs being pushed onto us. I remember the 80’s and even then you could tell bullshit was on its way however the family image was yet to be destroyed and the gay agenda wasn’t as vocal or visible like it is now. The black community was dealing with crack which made the tv show cops fun to watch and the economy wasn’t in a shit hole of no return. It was a time right before the baby boomers took over then everything went to shit because they believed in commie bullshit taught by Jews who ran the education system mix that with repeated drug use and self hate for being white. Also the boomers abused the system their parents paid for to help the less fortunate to a point of no return. They didn’t care if they sold our generation out of its inheritance they simply wanted to be liked. By the way i’m Gen x but it’s doesnt matter it’s fucking over for everyone after the entitlement boomer generation

>young people
I'm around there, and when I think "young people" instead of ideas or culture, I get hit with this electro-pop-rap pink fog. Like a mist of race and genders backlit by tiny screens.

Instead of a generational divide, it's a "soul" divide. But I've also talked to some 8-12 year olds at family holidays, and they're coding and intimidatingly smart and AWARE. Too much so? Like, they'll eat these undercut hipster late-millennials for fun, but have nervous breakdowns by 30.

Our generation's suicide rate will be devastating once we start hitting 40s. Especially the women. Fucked in the head, trying to compete with consumerbot youths.

...

>tfw 18 and never got to experience the homogeny you guys got to

Nah fuck that back then people didn’t care if people were different they just let them get on with it and treated them the same as anyone else as long as it was all respectful people, girls could be boys if the wanted it. Now it’s like they are trying to actually force it on people

>Mother will die in her sleep
Quick! Take this!

>MFW I turned 30 this year and have felt lost and despondent since that day in early September 2001
>MFW I'm just enjoying the ride

>TFW 34 years old and still shitposting frog memes on Sup Forums

I'm 23 and I'm so out of the loop i feel like I'm 50.

It was a completely different world. People went to roller rinks and minigolf on the weekends. You weren't allowed to be inside the house until dinner time. When you left the house nobody could contact you because no cell phones.

You had to give turn by turn directions to navigate.

Happy that you sane youngins exist, say you allowed it to get this bad.
Wtf? Get involved. Fight back. Enter politics, even at smallest level possible.
I realize it's not ALL your fault, but fuck if the social and cultural aspect of it isn't.
I do not feel all is lost however.
The left is just too insane. It's plain for all to see. And they get worse daily.
I fear global economic collapse, but the more I dwell on it, the more I start to think it may actually be an answer.
Many will die. They will be the weak ones.
It will be a culling of leftism.
But, Liberty must not be abandoned through it all. That's where you guys come in. Europe is lost, it will be a caliphate. I'm sure of this.
Improve yourself.
Clean your room.
Learn skills.
Become stronger men in every way.

the yearning..

I used to smoke. I remember when I'd go to the video store and look at racks full of VHS tapes. They had ash trays at the end of every row. I could sit there and smoke while looking for videos. Hell, I even worked in a convenience store in college, and could smoke behind the counter. A person could walk in off the street with a lit cigarette and smoke while browsing our cold cut sandwiches and nobody batted an eye. Hell, they had smoking sections at every single restaurant, and I always sat in them. It felt so great to be able to smoke indoors, but now it seems so foreign. I've come around to not minding it one bit, and have since quit smoking for many years. But I remember the good ole days. I even remember thinking it was weird when friends would make you go outside to smoke. Like, WTF, you smoke. Do you go outside every time?

I know it's a silly thing to cling to, but that all changed when our society turned into a giant baby crib. Everything has to be safe and secure and healthy now. Kids all wear helmets on their bikes, and most are wearing knee and elbow pads. I don't see kids up in the trees anymore. I barely even see them outside.

I used to disappear for hours and my parents thought nothing of it. Now they would be prosecuted for neglect if I was found wandering the woods alone with my bb gun and a knife.

...

In literally every other society in history, every age range had its own importance to the society, that came with pros and cons and a certain amount of respect. Literally every other fucking society in the history of humankind had this.

Think of how you felt about 18-25 year olds when you were 13-15. You probably admired them and felt like that was what real maturity looked like. But then think of how you felt when you hit 18-25: You realized responsibility and maturity don't magically dawn on you, but that you have to begin earning them. And you looked back on yourself at 13-18 as "naive," young, childish.

The thing is, EVERY OTHER SOCIETY IN HISTORY has had this happen a SERIES OF TIMES in an adult man's life. When you're 18-25, you're supposed to look up to 25-40 year olds, or 40-60 year olds, as shining paragons of masculinity, success, hard work, etc., etc. And then when you hit those ages, you're supposed to realise: "Somewhat, but not quite. Maturity is earned, and I've simply reached the milestone where I can now begin to earn it."

But as you ascended through the age ranks, and you gradually earned more and more respect, people would treat you differently. Being a 45 year old man meant you had engaged a lot with public life. You had lead people, you had done things, you had lived life seriously. In Greece and Rome, this meant you were now eligible to hold real public offices. In Greece, it might mean you were eligible to lead men in battle. Eventually, you might sit in the senate, or otherwise join the ranks of wise old men whose opinion was treated with the gravest respect.

Our society has three ages: "Before 21," "21," and "After 21."

preach it brother

I don't know that people will shy away from an addiction that is so readily available and also one that is seemingly harmless to them. It's not even part of a thought process anymore, it's a reflex.

Before 21, you are a kid, looking forward to being 21. Being 21 means being a faggot-ass pointless hipster socialite who has his own car and goes to parties.

At 21, you've hit the big time! You're now a faggot-ass hipster who goes to parties and wears trendy clothes. You are cool! All advertising is marketed toward you! The future is yours! You're basically "21" until your late 20s, at which point you hit...

After 21. Guess what? It's the same as 21, except you're now aware that you're old. You're not "mature," you're not a "young man" like the Romans would say. You are "21 but moldy and rotten." That's it. 50 years old? You're just VERY moldy. 75? You're basically treated like a retarded 21 year old in a wheelchair who shits himself. No one has any more respect for you than they did at 21, no matter how old you get, no matter what you do. Because the whole society only cares about one fucking thing: Being in that Eternal Youth age-range where all that matters is partying and being a hipster faggot, while all the advertising targets you and tells you that you're going to live forever and be a cool trendy guy with a cellphone going to sushi restaurants until the end of time.

That's why you feel old at 30 now. That's why women are all going insane. Because there's nothing AFTER THIRTY. Our society has collectively forgotten that 21 is like Teenager 2.0 Phase, where you're still an irresponsible retard full of piss and vinegar. Your twenties are ONE milestone in your life, not even an important one compared to what is supposed to follow (but doesn't anymore). Our society has forgotten adulthood, and with nothing to compare youth with, it thinks "using Tinder and watching Youtube videos in college haha I shop at thrift stores ;)" is "adulthood."

That's why you feel old. You are living in a diseased society.

fuck

Damn dude.

Yup its pointless to count and if anyone wants to know (doctors etc.) Ill give me my birth date. It's one less thing I have to worry about

not really such a bad thing at all. the problem arises when so many young people ave expectations that may or may not ever manifest. they can't be blamed, as their entire lives have been captained by those who steer them into an unreal reality.
>so, we have entire generations who have no identity; and this was done specifically to atomize cultural identity until the individual is left gravitating towards whatever identity appears to accept them as is
>sometimes it's better to start over; step back and punt

I'm 42 and I'm actually pretty optimistic about the future ever since Trump was elected.

I'm pretty confident even my cuck country is slowly turning away from progressive politics, and that we'll vote Trudeau out in 2019.

No. Mid twenties I knew there were no further maturity steps. There are plenty of 30-40somethings who are just as childish as a 21yo.

Once you have a career to become established you've got nothing to develop beyond personal improvement. Society fucks men by preventing them from becoming established earlier in life.

You're right, but they failed because Archie ended up being the most likeable character.

Dat feel when 21 and grew up in an all white neighbourhood and feeling super safe. Had the best childhood i could have asked foor. We were like 8 kids all around the same age +-1-2 years. Probably the closest to utopia i've experienced lol

Everything is shit now. TV, music, art, games, architecture...it's sad and depressing. And it will just get worse. Pic related.

>You had to give turn by turn directions to navigate.

You bring up a point that I find infinitely disturbing. Using human cognition and problem solving is one of the things that is being phased out by technology. I fear that it will lead to a race of complacent zombies, and those of us whom remember the 80's might be the only ones who really see it coming.
